Pro-Lifers Publish Video of Morbid, Mocking Displays

Pro-Lifers Publish Video of Morbid, Mocking Displays in Rockford Abortion Mill
By Kathleen Gilbert
ROCKFORD, Illinois, September 22, 2009 ( – Pro-lifers who frequent the Northern Illinois Women’s Center in Rockford have published a video casting light on the mocking, hateful, and grotesque signs and images that are a regular fixture in the windows of the abortion facility, which has earned a reputation as one of the most openly anti-life and anti-Christian abortuaries in America.

"We feel this video is especially important at this point in time where some in the Church claim pro-lifers are judgmental," remarked Rockford pro-life veteran Kevin Rilott.  "If they would honestly take a look at this kind of open hatred and mocking of God and killing of the ‘least of his people’ we could hope they would join us in praying and working for an end to what may be the greatest evil the world has ever faced."
Some windows display images mocking Jesus Christ or other Christian religious symbols, while others continue to accumulate derisive signage that often targets specific pro-lifers among the stalwart crowd who prayerfully protest the mill.
Still other windows once displayed rubber chickens hanging from nooses. These displays have now been removed after they began driving away customers in the predominantly black community.
Area pro-lifers have also testified to frequent verbal and physical abuse from attackers, either directly or indirectly associated with the abortion facility.
An abortion employee in July continued the pattern of abuse by allegedly ramming into a pro-lifer with his car before driving away.  In a tribute to the history of vehicular aggression displayed by the facility’s employees, one window sports a "speed limit 55" sign complete with a human skull.
In another incident, Keith Sterkeson, a local abortion supporter, screamed obscenities into the faces of the protesting pro-life advocates with a pitbull in tow, while the owner of the abortion facility, Wayne Webster, watched over the CCTV system from inside the building. Webster eventually warned Sterkeson over a loudspeaker that the police were on their way, after he heard the call coming through a police scanner
"Hey Keith, this a**hole just called the cops," Webster can be heard saying in a video of the incident. "I just heard it coming over the scanner.  They called the cops because Keith is down here, yelling and screaming at people, and he has a pit bull with him and he’s threatening people.  You’re not acting any crazier than those other a**holes (the pro-life activists)."
Another sign in a widow of the building celebrated the abortion facility’s 50,000th abortion with a sign that read "NIWC: 50,000; JC: 50"; implying that Jesus Christ (JC) through pro-life ministry had only saved fifty of the children slated for abortion at the Northern Illinois Women’s Center (NIWC).
"For years at this abortion mill we have seen a steady stream of vicious personal attacks, hatred for God, bigotry, racism, ridiculing people with HIV, and mocking of human life displayed in the windows of a so-called medical facility," said Rockford pro-life advocate George Lambert.
Lambert lamented that "the local Rockford paper refuses to report about these attacks and our city council remains silent."  "No wonder Rockford has one of the highest crime rates in the state," he said.  "When God and life are under a vicious assault and our city leaders remain silent we will reap what we sow."
"It’s amazing to think that if Obamacare passes, our tax dollars will be going to pay for this kind of hatred and bigotry," added pro-lifer Donna Modica.

Another study has found a strong link between abortion and breast cancer

New study shows abortion-breast cancer link
Yet another study has found a strong link between abortion and breast cancer.

This latest study was conducted in Turkey. The study found a 66-percent increase in risk of breast cancer after an abortion. The Turkish study also mentions the difference in cancer risk for miscarriages versus induced abortions. The study was conducted by Dr. Vahit Ozmen and colleagues at the Istanbul Medical Faculty at Istanbul University, and Magee-Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Their findings were published in the April 2009 issue of the WorldJournal of Surgical Oncology. (Dakota Voice, July 29)

Planned Parenthood boasts of close ties with White House

Planned Parenthood boasts of close ties with White House on Obamacare bill
"Just left the White House meeting on women’s health care—they appreciate all the mighty PP supporters speaking up for reform in the states!" PP president Cecile Richards wrote on her Facebook and Twitter accounts recently.

The latest meeting continues an apparently tight relationship between PP and the White House, where Obama administration officials have expressed their full cooperation with and encouragement of PP’s stake in the bill.
As Family Research Council president Tony Perkins has pointed out, PP, America’s largest abortion provider, stands to gain substantially if the legislation includes it as an "essential community provider."  Insurance providers, in order to be certified, would be required to contract with PP under that designation.
Obama appears to be making good on his promise to PP in July 2007, when he assured them that abortion availability played a central role in his plans for health care reform.

No Deal, Fr. Rosica

No Deal, Fr. Rosica
 By Rev. Thomas J. Euteneuer,
Fr. Thomas Rosica, director of the Salt and Light Catholic Television Network in Canada, recently wrote a shameless condemnation of pro-life people who objected to the August 28th Canonization in Boston, more commonly known as the funeral of Senator Edward Kennedy.
Fr. Rosica had a problem with good Catholics being scandalized by the public funeral of a man who lived his life utterly rejecting the Church’s core principles. There was absolutely no recognition of the heroism of the thousands of faithful Catholics who have stood on the front lines of this battle for many decades or of the marvelous contribution that we have made to saving babies and witnessing to the Truth of Christ. Unfortunately, Father’s criticism simply feeds the flames of anti-life sentiment against pro-lifers and ultimately against the sanctity of human life.

Now, the first of his many ironies was that, in condemning pro-lifers, Father was attempting to convince his readers not to condemn anyone. He reads the Scripture passage, "judge not lest ye be judged" with a bit of jaundice. He called pro-lifers all kinds of names that could have come right out of Planned Parenthood’s verbiage for us, and he even insinuated in a subsequent interview that, of all people, EWTN’s Raymond Arroyo was somehow part of this "uncharitable" problem in the Church because Raymond spoke out forcefully against the Kennedy scandal. Then he attacked the best pro-life news organization in the business, LifeSiteNews, saying that they were doing "the work of the devil" in shining the spotlight on this travesty. If this is the Gospel model of non-judgmentalism, I am reading the Good Book wrong.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the Luther pastor who was killed in the Nazi Holocaust, called this kind of sell-out "cheap grace" because it costs the pious churchman absolutely nothing to say it. In fact it must apparently feel real good because so many of them indulge in it. Let these churchmen try disciplining "Catholic" dissenters who scandalize Christ’s faithful, and they would see the value of their grace increase in proportion to their suffering at the hands of these renegades.

Worst of all is that people with this strange ethic of non-judgmentalism apply a standard of mercy to public Catholic reprobates that is never applied to the aborted children who will not get a funeral or graveside service offered by prelates reading pious sentiments from a very strange gospel book. What Fr. Rosica’s denunciations have thus highlighted for us is the extent to which the "judge not lest ye be judged" ethic reigns in ecclesiastical circles, and for that reason our Church is in trouble. Those who come out of a non-judgmentalism Gospel ethic, lay and cleric alike, will have nothing to offer our suffering souls in the darkness that is even now hovering over our Church like a black shroud. The pagan world is already coming after all that we hold dear and sacred, and if the murder of pro-lifer James Pouillon last week is any indication, they will soon be doing so with a vehemence that we have not experienced in our land since the days of the North American Martyrs.

To the ethic of hypocritical diatribes that defame pro-lifers, I can only say, "No deal, Father Rosica." Anyone who will use "non-judgmentalism" against faithful Catholics needs to wake up and smell the gunpowder on Jim Pouillon’s pro-life t-shirt. The Church stands with all men and women of good will against the increasingly pagan and violent culture that militates against us and our values. Those who use this ethic to keep the Church totally unprepared for battle need more than a re-reading of Scripture. They need a good kick in the back end and a refresher course on Catholic bravery which St. Paul tells us makes us "strong, loving and wise." (2 Tim 1:7-8)

Videos exposing the hatred of God at the abortion mill

Signs of Hate, Evil, and Death in the Heart of Rockford

See this new video that is directly focused on the hatred for God, racism, bigotry, blasphomy, and mocking of human life that is displayed in the windows of the Rockford, IL abortion mill everyday.  These signs show we are truly in a spiritual battle between life and death and against evil and the killing of children in the heart of Rockford.

“We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”  Ephesians 6:12
Please watch this video and share it with others in the hope we can respond to this evil with faith, hope, prayer, action, and love so we can begin to build a culture of life and love in Rockford.
Also come back and the video Lisa’s baby died here.
Lisa’s Baby Died Here in Rockford /Silent No More
In a powerful testimony of love a woman who had an abortion inside of Rockford’s abortion mill courageously returns to the place her child died to offer life and hope so other mothers won’t have to suffer what she has.  This video clearly shows the saving power of Jesus Christ in the life of a woman who has chosen to go beyond the pain of the culture of death and has chosen life in Christ.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.   Matthew 28
Please share with others this story of one woman who decided to place her love for God and mothers in need before her own pain and loss and publically stand for LIFE.
Another Must See Video
Bigotry and hate speech video shot at Rockford, Il abortuary.
This anti-Christian, racist video was shot at the Rockford Il. abortion mill, NIWC (Northern Illinois Women’s Center) and is a must see.  Abortion is the new civil rights cause, in the words of  Martin Luther King’s niece, Alveda King Tookes.   “There are people dying in this country, every day,” she said, focusing on the plight of a different set of powerless people.  “They are unborn children.”  “The fight against abortion is a new frontier in the civil rights movement.”

On Friday September 11, and estimated 8 children were killed at Rockford’s abortion mill.  By 7:15am this morning over a dozen Christians were already praying on the sidewalk in front of the Rockford abortion mill.  Included in this group were two women who have had abortions and know first hand the devastation that follows the "right to choose".  One young woman did drive into the mill parking lot but left very quickly – the presence of so many people in prayer may have had an impact on her.

With the mill being closed on Wednesday of this week and today having fewer thank ten abortions it seems someone inside of the abortion facility is becoming increasingly upset with the Christians praying outside and the lifesaving effect these prayers are having.  In a rather childish attempt to shock the pro-lifers the mill place a picture in it’s window of Jesus giving the pro-lifers the finger and the line underneath "even Jesus hates you."  They also place a sign in the window that says, "No job to big or to Small."  Obviously referring to the mills willingness to kill children no matter the age or size.

It very sad that the people inside a so-called Rockford medical facility think they can shock and scandalize Christian pro-lifers with their hate-filled signs.  As if we didn’t already know just a few feet away from where we are praying children are being murdered in the womb – we don’t need their signs to tell us the evil and death that take place behind the brick walls of Rockford’s abortion center.

On Wednesday September 16, an estimated 14 children were killed inside of Rockford’s abortion mill.

One young mother and her parents came to the mill for an abortion, left, then came back again.  The young mother was fighting an internal spiritual battle for the life or death of her child.  The pro-lifers assembled in small groups and prayed intensely, the abortion mill landlord was on his public address system yelling at them – but finally the prayers, the grace of God, and a mothers instinctive love for her child defeated the evil of the culture of death!

The young mother and her parents came out and spoke with sidewalk counselors.  It was easy to see she had chosen life by the happiness of the mother and her parents.

The mission of Rockford Pro-Life Initiative is to eliminate abortion in the Rockford area through Prayer, Fasting, Education and Personal Sacrifice.

British Doctors Let Premature Baby Born at 22 Weeks Die, NHS Blamed for Death

London, England ( — British doctors are coming under fire for letting an unborn child born just before 22 weeks of pregnancy die. The National health Service, the government-run health system that Congress may replicate in legislation in the United States, is blamed for guidelines disallowing treatment. Sarah Capewell begged physicians to save the life of her tiny son, whom she planned to name Jayden, but they said national guidelines preventing treatment on newborns born so early prevented them from caring for him. Capewell told the London Daily Mail newspaper that doctors refused to see her son, who lived almost two hours on his own without any medical support before dying. She said Jayden (pictured above right) was breathing on his own without any medical assistance and was moving his arms and legs, but medical staff refused to transfer him to a neonatal intensive care unit. The newspaper indicated Capewell said medical staff told her they would have been able to treat her son had he been born two days later. The Nuffield Council drew up the guidelines that are not mandatory but followed closely by doctors and medical workers. The guidelines are based on the belief that unborn children born so early in pregnancy have very little chance of surviving and that any medical care and treatment is futile and a waste of money and resources.

Spanish Doctors Will Choose Jail over Committing Abortion

By Hilary White

September 11, 2009 ( – Dr. Esteban Rodriguez, spokesman for the organization Derecho a Vivir (Right to Life) recently said Spanish doctors are willing to face jail rather than kill unborn children under a new law.

"We are willing to go to jail rather than following a criminal law," Dr. Rodriguez said, "and we are willing to commit the supposed crime of disobedience before the crime of abortion."

Dr. Rodriguez was responding to comments made earlier by Minister of Justice, Francisco Caamano, who said that Spain’s abortion law would not allow doctors the right to refuse to commit abortions.
"We will not kill our patients, nor will we commit a crime against the public health deliberately harming the health of women, no matter how much the Minister of Justice threatens us and abuses his power," the doctor said.

He said the Zapatero government should think about creating "a new level of officials at the ministries of Justice and Equality: fetal executioners." Decrying the government’s "imposed ideology," he recalled that the Spanish constitution guarantees the right of conscientious objection. Rodriguez noted the irony that the new law would shield some doctors from prison for committing illegal abortions while sending others to jail who refused.
"We find the totalitarian intentions of the Ministry of Justice, in conjunction with those of Equality, to be highly troubling. If the former Minister of Justice stirred things up with officials in the judiciary, this one is going to accomplish the same thing with medical professionals," he warned.

Last week, Derecho a Vivir said that the law on abortion proposed by the Zapatero government would make Spain the European country with the least protection for the unborn and pregnant women. The new law, they said, denies women information on the nature of abortion and leaves the unborn totally unprotected. The socialist government’s reform would be much more permissive than the laws in other EU countries, the group said in a study.

"The government’s claim that it is making Spanish law conform to that of other countries in the area of abortion is false. If the Zapatero-Aido bill is passed, Spain would be the exception," the study says.

The reaction to the new abortion laws in strongly Catholic Spain has been remarkable, says Derecho a Vivir. The group is organising a mass demonstration on October 17th. Calling "unprecedented" the number of people signing up for bus transportation to the event, Dr. Gador Joya said they expected it to be "one of the largest in the democratic era," with over a million anticipated participants.

Mothers, the group says, "are entitled to receive all necessary support from society."

"Life always brings joy, hope and prosperity for everyone. By contrast, abortion always generates pain, suffering and trauma difficult to overcome."

Rape Victim says God Granted a "Rush of Love" for her Unborn Child Moments before Abortion

By Hilary White

September 11, 2009 ( – A British policewoman and born-again Christian says it was a sudden and unexpected "rush of love" that in her mind transformed her unborn child, conceived in a date-rape, from "an alien" to a beloved daughter on the day of her scheduled abortion. Miriam Virgo credits God with stepping in to save her daughter’s life.

Now 27, Virgo told her story in an autobiographical piece in Britain’s Daily Mail yesterday, saying that, having come from a devout Christian family, she had never expected to find herself a single mother at 19. In 2001, she had attended a party with co-workers at which she believes her single glass of wine was spiked with a date-rape drug. After the attack and with no memory of that night, Virgo was shocked to find herself pregnant and considered obtaining an abortion.

"Coming from such a Christian family," she said, "I’ve never believed in abortion, but suddenly finding myself pregnant with a rapist’s baby, I looked at it differently." She continued, "I just couldn’t face the thought of the baby being born and looking like Rob [her alleged rapist] – it would be a constant reminder of what had happened."

After "counselling," Virgo said, she was ready for an abortion; but when the moment came, and she was already dressed in the hospital gown, she changed her mind after what she describes as a moment of help from God.

Ultimately, after she gave birth to Kayleigh, now seven, she found that the child did look like her attacker, and she experienced some difficulty bonding. But ultimately she overcame this, saying, "After all, none of this was her fault." A year after her daughter’s birth, Virgo applied to and was accepted by the police force.

She said that when Kayleigh is old enough, she will tell her of the circumstances of her conception, and "I’ll also tell her about the moment I decided to keep her, and how I felt all this love for her, love that is even stronger now."

In another interview, Virgo said, "God knew what my life would be without the girl and he knew what it would be with the girl. I prayed to God and asked for his will to be done in my life."

The so-called "rape exception" is commonly accepted, even by many who are inclined to the pro-life position, as a "compassionate" act for a rape victim. But pro-life apologists refute this, saying that it is neither just for the innocent child who is killed, nor beneficial for the mother.

Stephanie Gray, the head and founder of the Canadian Centre for Bioethical Reform, told that Miriam Virgo’s story should be one that inspires others to make the same choice in favor of life.

It illustrates, she said, the basic principle of the entire pro-life cause, that an unborn child has dignity and value, no matter what the circumstances of her conception. "If the unborn are valuable because they’re human," Gray said, "then how they come into existence does not change the fact that they are persons with inherent dignity."

Gray illustrated the principle with a hypothetical: had Virgo been married and "had consensual sex with her husband the night prior to her date rape, upon discovering her pregnancy she would not have known the identity of the child’s father."

"Imagine if she hoped it was her husband’s child and carried on with the pregnancy, and only after birth, with paternity test results, discovered the child’s father was a rapist. Would she be permitted to kill the infant then because of the father’s crime? Obviously not. Likewise, we may not kill an unborn child because of her father’s crime."

Gray said that Virgo’s "witness is a powerful example to all people, and that is that we should be other-focused, not self-focused."

"Even amidst her own victimization and deep pain, Miriam chose not to victimize an innocent child."

Vigil for Slain Michigan Pro-Lifer Draws Hundreds of Mourners

By Kathleen Gilbert

OWOSSO, Michigan, September 14, 2009 ( – The sidewalk outside Owosso High School where pro-lifer Jim Pouillon was shot and killed became hallowed ground for hundreds of pro-lifers who attended a prayer vigil in his honor Sunday afternoon.

Pouillon, 63, was shot multiple times while carrying a pro-life sign in front of the school early Friday morning.  After being taken into custody later that day, suspect Harlan James Drake reportedly told prosecutors that he targeted the locally famous pro-life activist because of his message.

Pro-Life mourners gathered at 3 p.m. Sunday to sing, read from the Bible, and share personal stories from Pouillon’s life.  Notes, balloons, and flowers were piled on the spot where Pouillon stood when he was gunned down.  Many held signs silently calling attention to the gruesome reality of abortion – disturbing images that the veteran pro-lifer exposed so doggedly that he became known locally as "the abortion sign guy."

Daughter Mary Jo Pouillon, who held her father’s bible throughout the prayer service, said her father would have "loved all the attention" that the tragedy drew, not to himself, but to the pro-life cause.

"He always told me that when he went to heaven that he wanted to go while on the corner saving babies," the 26-year-old told the Argus-Press.  "God heard him."

Miss Pouillon recalled that "a lot of people in Owosso hated my dad" for his pro-life witness.  "They threatened him in all kinds of ways," she said. "We talked about it before, and my father was ready to go for the Lord. I whole-heartedly backed up my dad and every decision he made."

"I do think he died for the cause of Right to Life," Monica Migliorino Miller, director of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society and organizer of the vigil, told The Flint Journal.  "Because of his Christian faith, he stood up and died for the cause of life and for his faith."

As he is believed to be the first pro-life activist killed while witnessing to the cause, Pouillon has been hailed as the "first American pro-life martyr."

Michigan Citizens for Life chairman Cal Zastrow, who called Pouillon the "first American pro-life martyr," said his friend had received numerous death threats over the years.

"This happened weekly to Jim, where people threatened to kill him. … Jim was ready," Zastrow said.

A memorial service is scheduled to be held for Pouillon at Owosso’s Mowen Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Bishop Doran Weighs in Against Obama Health Care Overhaul

By Kathleen Gilbert

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 15, 2009 ( – Another U.S. Catholic bishop has joined in criticizing President Obama’s health care overhaul, insisting that any such legislation must avoid promoting abortion and urging against the unwarranted expansion of government into the private sphere.

Bishop Thomas Doran of Rockford, Illinois wrote in the diocesan newspaper The Observer last month that the principles of subsidiarity, solidarity, and interest in the common good are indispensable to positive health care reform. Doran advised that health care be treated as "more of a market than a system," and warned against the pitfalls of a government takeover.

"Our federal bureaucracy is a vast wasteland strewn with the carcasses of absurd federal programs which proved infinitely worse than the problems they were established to correct," wrote Doran.

Doran’s remarks reflect the widespread unrest among conservative Americans that led to a massive grassroots rally on Saturday against the Obama administration’s health care initiative and government expansion. Estimates for the number of attendees at the "tea party" protest on Capitol Hill spanned from "tens of thousands" to well over a million.

The bishop also wrote that, "whatever we do," respect for "all human life from conception to natural death" is the first principle that must be respected in any such bill.

He quoted the warning of the Catholic Medical Association, which has expressed significant concerns over the Obama reform.  The medical group wrote: "The clear historical experience in the United States assures that a unitary, or a single payer, system of health care financing and administration would profoundly subvert the sanctity of human life."

"Modern socialist governments like to control not food but the means to protect and extend life. Some have called the current efforts of our federal government ‘senioricide’ or ‘infanticide,’" wrote Doran. "That perhaps is too severe, but we as Catholics should take care that health care does not morph into life control."

Bishop Samuel Aquila of Fargo, Archbishop Charles Chaput of Denver, Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City and and Bishop Robert Finn of Kansas City-St. Joseph have also criticized the Obama legislation for its expansion of abortion, euthanasia, and government control.

Pro-Life Activist Gunned Down in Michigan

On Friday September 11, a well known pro-life activist was shot and killed because of his pro-life activism in Owosso Michigan.

The Rockford pro-life community is saddened by the senseless and vicious murder of an elderly pro-lifer simply because he defended children who were in danger of being killed by abortion.
As we have seen here in Rockford with the constant, vicious, bigoted, and hate-filled displays of Rockford’s abortion mill when we accept that a mother can kill her own child in the womb violence against the weak (James Pouillon was elderly,on an oxygen tank, and used a cane) and a disrespect for all life become common place.
Our prayers go out to Mr. Pouillon’s family and that the soul of a true Christian martyr will rest forever in the heart of Jesus Christ.
The Rockford Pro-Life Initiative recommits to always standing peacefully and prayerfully against any and all types of violence.
We would also like to thank Mayor Larry Morrissey, Chief of Police Chet Epperson, and Deputy Chief Michael Booker for providing a police presence at the abortion mill and for their vigilance in protecting all involved with pro-life issues in the city of Rockford.
The mission of Rockford Pro-Life Initiative is to eliminate abortion in the Rockford area through Prayer, Fasting, Education and Personal Sacrifice.

Well-Known Pro-Life Activist Gunned Down in Michigan

By Kathleen Gilbert and John Jalsevac

OWOSSO, Michigan, September 11, 2009 ( – An elderly pro-life activist was shot multiple times and killed this morning in front of Owosso High School in Michigan while he was peacefully protesting abortion with a sign depicting a baby and the word "Life," according to local police cited in the Flint Journal newspaper.

Locals say that the victim, James Pouillon of Owosso, was well-known in the area for his pro-life activities.  Columnist Doug Powers wrote on his blog that Pouillon, called “the abortion sign guy" by Owosso locals, was known for standing on street corners holding up signs with pictures of aborted children.

Pastor Matt Trehella of Missionaries to the Preborn said today that Pouillon had joined his organization for a few stops of a pro-life tour less than a month ago. "Jim was a selfless, soft-spoken, kind-hearted man.  All who knew him, knew this," he said. "Please pray for Jim’s family."

Trehella said that Pouillon was an elderly man who needed constant use of an oxygen machine.

Troy Newman, the President of Operation Rescue (OR), said that Pouillon was a friend of OR. "We are stunned by Jim’s murder," he said. "We extend our condolences to the family and share in their grief over his loss. His life was characterized by his love and concern of the vulnerable, and he will be greatly missed.

"We denounce this senseless act of violence in the strongest terms, and pray that this murderer will be swiftly brought to justice."

Reports indicate that a second individual was shot and killed in a different area of the city earlier in the day, and the two shootings are believed to be related, according to Shiawassee County sheriff George Braidwood. According to, the second victim has now been identified as Mike Fuoss, 61, the owner of a local gravel pit. Fuoss was found dead in his office.

Police have confirmed that a suspect – a 33-year-old Owosso man – was taken into custody at the suspect’s home shortly after the 7:30 a.m. shooting. After being taken into custody he confessed to the second killing as well. Fuoss knew the suspected killer, according to police, and it is so far unknown if Pouillon did as well. The motive for either of the killings is not yet known.

However, Police Chief Michael Compeau said that Pouillon appeared to be a target. "I would speculate it was … intended," Compeau said, according to the Associated Press. "He was out protesting right across the street from the high school … and there (were) multiple people around there and that person was targeted."

A black car was parked near the scene of the shooting, where a portable oxygen tank lay in a front yard next to a large sign with the word "Life" and an image of a baby.

In the wake of the tragedy, Fr. Pavone of Priests for Life told that he hoped to see "a strong expression of indignation from the pro-abortion

community, just like there was a strong expression of indignation from the pro-life community at the killing of Dr. Tiller."

Secondly, Fr. Pavone called for "a renewal of unity within the pro-life community, coming to one another’s assistance supporting one another, and by no means allowing fear or intimidation to have any role in our lives, but rather to move forward in peaceful organized ways to stand against this evil of abortion."

Suspect Charged with First-Degree Premeditated Murder of Michigan Pro-Lifer

By Kathleen Gilbert

OWOSSO, Michigan, September 11, 2009 ( – 33-year-old Harland James Drake has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder of pro-life veteran Jim Pouillon this morning as he carried a pro-life sign in front of a local high school, reports local news station WILX-TV.

Prosecutors said Drake told them he targeted Pouillon because of his pro-life activities.

“There was some displeasure with how open he was,” said Sara Edwards, Shiawassee County chief assistant prosecutor Sara Edwards, according to a New York Times report.  “He tended to carry big signs with very graphic pictures of fetuses.”

Drake has also been charged with first-degree premeditated murder against Owosso business owner Mike Fuoss, felony firearm, and carrying a weapon with unlawful intent.

Police say Drake told them he was planning to kill a third individual, Owosso realtor James Howe, before he was apprehended.

Local news reports say Drake will return to court for a preliminary hearing on September 25th, and remains in custody without bond.

"Jim the Sign Guy": Slain Pro-Lifer, Father of Two, Remembered by Friends as Cheerful, Peaceful Activist

By Kathleen Gilbert

OWOSSO, Michigan, September 11, 2009 ( – Jim Pouillon, the pro-life activist shot and killed outside a high school in Owosso Friday morning, is being remembered today by friends as a peaceful and dedicated defender of the unborn. Those who knew him say that, in the face of the frequent physical harassment and death threats aimed at him for his pro-life work, the veteran pro-lifer always responded with charity.

According to friends, Pouillon, 63, was a born-again Christian and longtime resident of Owosso. They say he was divorced, with a son and a daughter as well as grandchildren. (LSN) spoke with Cal Zastrow, a longtime friend of Pouillon’s, who described the pro-life activist as "one of the most loving, compassionate people, peaceful people I’ve ever met in my life."

Zastrow says Pouillon began his pro-life work with the rescue movement spearheaded by Operation Rescue in Atlanta, Georgia in 1988, and has been active ever since.

"He was 100% non-violent. He never threatened anyone. He never condoned violence ever," said Zastrow.

While known to travel to pro-life events throughout the country, Pouillon’s most frequent method of witnessing was by holding signs on the street corners in his hometown. And that was what he was doing when he was gunned down this morning – holding a sign depicting the beaming face of a newborn baby, with the word "LIFE" superimposed.

In his hometown, residents grew to expect the large bearded man, sitting in a lawn chair and holding pro-life signs with images of babies or aborted children. Suffering from weak lungs compromised by smoking earlier in life, he depended on a portable oxygen tank.

Occasionally, as he was doing this morning, Pouillon was known to stand near Owosso high school to discuss abortion with the students there.

He became known, after at least fifteen years of steady witnessing in Owosso, as "Jim the sign guy" or "the abortion sign guy," a ubiquitous presence that always drew reactions, whether of praise, anger, or hatred.

Various sources have described Pouillon as the frequent target of screaming, spitting, and even throwing fruit. Zastrow said that he and Pouillon often received verbal abuse and death threats from passersby.

But, he would just "smile and laugh, and say ‘Thank you, Jesus,’" Zastrow said of his friend.  He noted that he and Pouillon had been physically assaulted on separate occasions "for peacefully praying and witnessing."

"He would say, ‘God forgive you, I bless you,’" he added.

Court records published by local news reports show that Pouillon has been cited on charges connected to his pro-life activities, mostly minor infringements related to property laws, many of which were dismissed.  In 2000, Pouillon was found guilty for stalking – a charge Zastrow says was unjustly brought against the veteran pro-lifer.

"Once they lied about him and put him in jail for stalking, and they said he threatened somebody, but it wasn’t true," said Zastrow.  "He never threatened anybody."

Zastrow expressed concern that media reports would portray Pouillon as violent.  "He never was," said Zastrow.  "He’s America’s first peaceful pro-life rescuer martyr."

Pastor Matt Trewhella of the Missionaries of the Preborn described his friend of 7 years as "so soft-spoken, but persevering, faithful."  Trewhella said Pouillon began his ministry after he saw images of unborn children killed by abortion.

"He was moved with compassion and decided he had to speak up for them," said the pastor.  "He was a good man."

Operation Rescue president Troy Newman told LSN that Pouillon, who participated in Operation Rescue, was a "dear friend" and "always an encourager."

"He’s the sort of guy who always gives you a big bear hug, tells you he loves you," said Newman.  "I know he was always out on the street carrying a sign whether it was the dead of winter, or the middle of summer.

Newman said Pouillon’s faithfulness was evidenced by the way he died.  "He was faithfully out on the street holding a sign in the middle of the week with a beautiful picture of a baby and it said ‘life’ on it.  ‘Life,’ and a picture of a baby.  And he was shot down for it," said Newman.

"If the purveyors of death think this is going to stop us, they’re absolutely dead wrong," said Newman.  "History is replete with martyrs who have stood sacrificially and even given their own lives so that others may live.  And that has always been the premise of the pro-life movement, and we will continue steadfast marching forward in that direction.

"Was he a perfect man?  No, none of us are.  But he stood faithful to the end."

Pro-Life Leaders Lament the Violent Death of a Friend and Ally – Jim Pouillon

 By John Jalsevac

September 11, 2009 ( – This morning at 7:20am James Pouillon, an elderly Michigan-area pro-life activist, was gunned down in front of Owosso High School while protesting abortion with a large sign depicting a baby and the word "Life." A second man was also killed shortly thereafter – Mike Fuoss, the owner of a local gravel pit. It is so far unknown what the motives for the two killings were.

Pro-life leaders, many of whom personally knew Pouillon, have reacted with horror to the senseless killing of the long-time and dedicated activist for the unborn.

"We are stunned by Jim’s murder," said Operation Rescue (OR) President Troy Newman. "We extend our condolences to the family and share in their grief over his loss. His life was characterized by his love and concern of the vulnerable, and he will be greatly missed.

"We denounce this senseless act of violence in the strongest terms, and pray that this murderer will be swiftly brought to justice."

Pastor Matt Trewhella of Missionaries of the Preborn said in a press release that Pouillon had joined his group for a few stops of a pro-life tour less than a month ago. "Jim was a selfless, soft-spoken, kind-hearted man.  All who knew him, knew this," he said.

Trewhella lamented that, "The press in all its hypocrisy is already painting Jim as a controversial figure.  Their hypocrisy is rank.  Remember when Tiller was killed how the press painted him as the most saintly man in America, singing his praises? They paint the man who kills the babies as some saint while the man who exposes the babies’ suffering is painted as something bad."

"Jim Pouillon is a hero," said Monica Migliorino Miller of South Lyon, the director of Citizens for a Pro-life Society. “Jim died while giving a peaceful witness to the sacredness of human life. He stood outside of the local high school on many occasions holding a sign of a baby to send a message to the students that abortion is the taking of innocent life.

"Now his life has been taken as he stood in witness against the injustice of abortion.

"When violence is aimed at those who provide abortion – pro-life leaders are swift to condemn it. We call on the pro-abortion community to condemn this violence against Jim Pouillon. Many have already blamed Jim for his own death because he dared to stand on the street with a pro-life sign. Such a point of view is atrocious and grossly irresponsible.”

Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life told (LSN) this morning that he hoped to see "a strong expression of indignation from the pro-abortion community, just like there was a strong expression of indignation form the pro-life community at the killing of Dr. Tiller."

Fr. Pavone also called for "a renewal of unity within the pro-life community, coming to one another’s assistance supporting one another, and by no means allowing fear or intimidation to have any role in our lives, but rather to move forward in peaceful organized ways to stand against this evil of abortion."

Bradley Mattes, Executive Director of Life Issues Institute, said, "It’s hard to imagine the hatred that motivates someone to murder, regardless of which side of the debate they’re on. It’s all desperately wrong.
"The murder of millions of innocent unborn babies is spilling out onto the streets of America. I pray we can stop the killing on all fronts. Our prayers are with Jim’s family."

Lila Rose, the President of Live Action Media also sent out a release, saying, "We are greatly saddened and disturbed by the murder of pro-life activist, Jim Pouillon.

"We condemn the violent act which robbed Jim of his life, and we stand with him in his protest against our nation’s violence to the unborn.

"Now is the time for the pro-life community to stand with even more courage and unity against abortion. We will work tirelessly until our nation recognizes the right to life of every human being, even the smallest and weakest."

"American Life League is heartbroken over the loss of a true pro-life hero," said Shaun Kenney, executive director of American Life League, "gunned down on the day Americans across the country mourn the violent deaths of 3,017 people. What a terrible irony that his death, on this day of infamy, brings to mind the 50 million innocent lives lost to abortion.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and community in the wake of this tragedy, and we renew our call for peace and prayer as the only remedies for the culture of violence."

"Since a motive has not yet been determined, speculation is useless, if not harmful," cautioned Kenney. "We commend the Shiawassee County sheriff’s department for its swift apprehension of the suspect, and we pray for God’s justice and mercy."

Wendy Wright, President of Concerned Women for America (CWA), stated, "We are shocked at this senseless violence against a peaceful man. Jim Pouillon sincerely lived out his belief that babies have the right to be born. He dedicated his life to convincing others to reject the violence of abortion. It is a tragedy upon tragedy that a peaceful man who tried to end violence was himself violently killed.

"We hope Attorney General Holder will as vigorously denounce the murder of Jim Pouillon, who tried to save babies from violence, as he did the murder of George Tiller, the late-term abortionist."

Pro-Abortion Groups Silent in Wake of Pro-Life Activist’s Slaying

By Kathleen Gilbert

OWOSSO, Michigan, September 11, 2009 ( – In contrast to the swift condemnations issued by every major pro-life group across America in the hours following the slaying of late-term abortionist George Tiller in May, a deafening silence from nearly every U.S. pro-abortion group has accompanied the hours of nationwide media buzz following the shooting death of Michigan pro-life activist Jim Pouillon early Friday morning. The only statements from pro-abortion forces thus far have been issued by the local Michigan chapter of Planned Parenthood, and the pro-abortion website

Pouillon, 63, was shot multiple times and killed at 7:20 a.m. as he stood with a pro-life sign outside Owosso High School. Police charged 33-year-old Owosso resident Harland James Drake Friday afternoon with Pouillon’s first-degree murder, as well as the first-degree murder of local gravel pit owner Mike Fuoss, 61, killed earlier in the morning.

Prosecutors said Drake told them he targeted Pouillon because of his pro-life activity.

Though Pouillon’s death has made headlines in major news media, leading national pro-abortion organizations including Planned Parenthood Federation of America, NARAL, the National Organization for Women, and the National Abortion Federation have issued no response to the slaying as of 4:45 p.m. EST.

However, within minutes after news broke that Wichita’s late-term abortionist George Tiller was shot and killed on a Sunday morning while serving as an usher at his Lutheran church, dozens of nationwide pro-life leaders and organizations immediately poured out condemnations against the violence.

Operation Rescue, which had spearheaded peaceful protests of Tiller’s business for several years, was among the first to denounce the "vigilantism and the cowardly act that took place this morning," adding that they were offering prayers for Tiller’s family.

Pouillon was a friend and active member of Operation Rescue.

Obama Administration Issues No Response to Slaying of Pro-Life Advocate

Washington, DC ( — The Obama administration  was quick to respond to the shooting death of late-term abortion practitioner George Tiller. But, when it comes to the murder of a pro-life advocate urging students at a Michigan high school, the Obama administration hasn’t said a word. has searched the daily press releases from administration officials, the White House website, mainstream media stories on the shooting, and news search engines. The search reveals the Obama administration has been silent on the Friday shooting death of pro-life advocate Jim Pouillon by an abortion advocate who was upset that he protested abortion outside a local high school. sent an email to Obama’s press and faith offices hours after the shooting looking for reaction and never received a reply. CNS News also indicated it sent requests to both the White House and the Department of Justice asking whether a statement would be released on Pouillon’s death and never received a response. Reid Cherlin, the White House spokesman that CNS News was told would be the one most likely to issue a response, did not respond to any of its repeated requests for comment or reaction.

On Friday September 4, an estimated 10 children between the ages of 8 and 18 weeks old in the womb were killed at Rockford’s abortion mill.  One young couple pulled into the mill parking lot and remained in their car.  They may have been reconsidering the decision to kill their baby when they saw the building that the abortion mill is housed in with its signs littered with foul language and mocking God.  Unfortunately one of the employees of the mill noticed the young couple in the car and went over to them and took them in the killing center.  If they had been left alone they may have chosen life.
On Wednesday September 9 thankfully the killing center was closed.  We have found out that they will be open Friday Sept 11, Wed Sept 16, and Fri Sept 18.

If you are free this Friday please join us at the foot of the Cross in Rockford.  We are expecting a busy day because they were closed today.

A Rockford Pro-lifer Meets Jesse Jackson

One bit of interesting news happened at the Rockford city council meeting this week.  One of our dedicated pro-lifers attended the meeting and spoke for a few minutes to the city council about how the Rockford abortion mill harms women and kills children.

Before the meeting our pro-lifer went up to the Jesse Jackson who was in attendance and offered the Reverend a pro-life brochure that compares the crime of abortion with the crime of slavery.  At first Rev. Jackson took the pamphlet until he saw it was about abortion then he immediately gave it back to the pro-lifer.

The pro-lifer asked Jackson if he was once pro-life and the Reverend said, "yes", but that ended the conversation on the spot.

It seems Jackson is is only interested in racism if it plays into his political ideology but not if it kills children in the womb.  Of the well over 50,000 children who have been killed by abortion in Rockford it is estimated that includes tens of thousands of African American children.  Follow the link below to learn more about the Rockford abortion facility and minorities:

First US Bishop to Decry the "Scandal" of the Kennedy Funeral
By John-Henry Westen
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX, September 8, 2009 ( – Bishop Rene Henry Gracida, retired Roman Catholic Bishop of Corpus Christi, Texas has denounced the "scandal" of the Kennedy funeral.  Writing on his blog, Bishop Gracida said, "There was so much wrong with the funeral liturgy celebrated in Boston last Saturday for Senator Edward Moore Kennedy that I hardly know where to begin."

He added: "Aside from the impropriety of such a grandiose celebration for one of the country’s most notorious dissident Catholics, the ‘celebration’ was filled with liturgical errors and transgressions against the General Instruction of the Roman Missal which governs every celebration of the Church’s liturgy."

Rather than going into specifics about the abuses himself, Bishop Gracida posted commentaries by lay and clerical pro-life leaders who identified the gravity of the scandal. "I am afraid that if I, a bishop, were to go into the details of the scandal it would only add to the scandal and so I will let the laity speak to it," he said.

Bishop Gracida reposted several commentaries from lay leaders in the pro-life movement in various posts.  He, however, gave special attention to the commentary by Phil Lawler of Catholic World News.  Said Bishop Gracida: "It is not unreasonable to suggest that the ‘buck’ for the scandal of the secular extravaganza which obscured the sacred liturgical nature of the Kennedy funeral should stop at the desk of the Cardinal Archbishop of Boston.

Again, since I do not want to directly criticize another bishop, I leave it to the laity to analyze the true nature of that celebration.  I give the final word to a layman for whom I have a great deal of respect: Phillip Lawler."

Dear Friends,
As someone dedicated to standing against abortion, you are well aware of the issue of post abortion syndrome and what abortion does to women. The purpose of this letter is to tell you about the Silent No More Awareness Campaign that is raising awareness about the affects of abortion on women, men and society. I am the Regional Coordinator for the Campaign and I need your help to spread the word about the Campaign and to encourage those who regret their abortion experience to join the Campaign!
The Silent No More Awareness Campaign wants to make the public aware of the devastation abortion brings to women, men, and their families. The emotional and physical pain of abortion should no longer be shrouded in secrecy and silence, but rather exposed and healed. This mobilization of women and others is imperative to make abortion unthinkable, and persuade society that women deserve better than abortion. Specifically, the Campaign seeks to:
1.        Inform the public that abortion is harmful emotionally, physically, and spiritually to women and others involved.
2.        Reach out to the people who are hurting from an abortion with the help, hope, and healing available.
3.        Invite those who regret their abortions to join the Campaign in speaking the truth about abortion’s negative consequences as well as the help and healing they have experienced.
The Campaign is sponsored by NOEL and Priests for Life. You may have heard about the Silent No More Awareness Campaign and know we are trying to share the truth of abortion’s negative impact on women. We are planning a Gathering to raise awareness at 12:30 pm on October 4, 2009 at Moody Peace Plaza in Rockford, IL.  Those who choose to participate in a Gathering are invited to share a brief 2-3 minute testimony of their experience, and hold our “I Regret My Abortion” or “I Regret Lost Fatherhood” signs. Some women might not feel ready to share their testimony but want to participate; they can do so by holding our "I Regret My Abortion" sign. The media is invited to all the Gatherings.
Please help us publicize these events, in addition to inviting those who have experienced abortion and healing to participate. We would also like to have people come and listen to our testimonies. Please consider including an article in your publications or posting one on your website.
The Campaign organizers and I invite you to get involved in raising awareness in our community. Please visit the website: to learn more and to participate. Please contact them or myself if you have any questions.

I believe in this Campaign. It is making a difference for many women and men, helping them find healing programs such as yours. Therefore, I hope you will send the attached letter to people you know who are ready to be silent no more about the devastating effects of abortion and help raise awareness about the truth. I encourage you also, if you have had an abortion, to attend a Gathering and share your testimony.
Following the events, we expect more women to contact us seeking help so you may want to schedule your abortion recovery programs accordingly. Thank you for helping to get the word out – we can be silent no more!

Leader of United Nations Population Fund Calls for Global Abortion Funding
Wants $23 billion a year to guarantee access to the deadly procedure worldwide
By Matthew Cullinan Hoffman
BERLIN, September 4, 2009 ( – The executive director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) recently gave a speech at an international conference calling for a $23 billion dollar budget to fund abortions worldwide.
"It would cost the world 23 billion dollars per year to terminate undesired pregnancies and deaths during delivery," said Thoraya Ahmed Obaid, leader of the organization, before over 400 "reproductive rights" advocates at the Berlin meeting, which was co-sponsored by the German government.
She also called for a redoubling of efforts related to contraceptives, despite increasing evidence that such programs actually encourage extramarital sexual intercourse and the spread of disease.
Obaid’s remarks were reported by the French radio news service RFI.
Although the UNFPA claims it is not involved in abortion, its leadership speaks out frequently to advocate the practice, and groups such as the Population Research Institute have repeatedly exposed the agency’s support for coercive abortion and sterilization programs in China, Peru, Vietnam, and other countries.
According to the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute (C-FAM), the German government is also promoting the idea of "universal access to sexual and reproductive health information and services by 2015" which includes "options for safe abortions."
Mexican State of Queretaro Overwhelmingly Passes Pro-Life Amendment, 21-0
Over 58,000 letters sent to legislature urging adoption of the measure
By Matthew Cullinan Hoffman, Latin America Correspondent
QUERETARO, MEXICO, September 3, 2009 ( – The Mexican state of Queretaro has passed a pro-life amendment to its constitution, protecting the right to life from the moment of conception until natural death.
The passage of the measure followed a letter writing campaign that brought over 58,000 notarized letters to the state’s congress in support of the right to life.
The text of the amendment, which was approved by an absolute majority of 21-0, was quoted in the Mexican media several weeks ago as follows: "In the state of Queretaro the existence of life from the moment of conception is recognized, therefore, respect for it and for all human rights will be guaranteed, its defense will be promoted, and the conditions necessary for its exercise will be provided."
It also stated that, "the State has the obligation to respect life as a fundamental right and to not offend it, nor expose it to any danger, a protection that should be understood from the moment of conception until its natural end, because it is a primordial, universal, absolute, and inalienable right."
However, in cases of rape, the penal code continues to provide no penalty for abortion, according to the Mexican newspaper Mileneo, which also reported that women who go to hospitals after failed abortions would not be prosecuted.
Queretaro is the 15th Mexican state to pass a pro-life amendment in the past year.  The amendments have followed Mexico City’s decision to legalize abortion in 2007, creating fear that the same could happen at the state level.
Parties from across the political spectrum voted for the measure, following the example of other states in which left-wing and right wing politicians have come together to support the value of human life.
Polish bishops warn Catholic politicians that abortion support risks excommunication

Warsaw, Poland, Sep 6, 2009 / 06:10 pm (CNA).- The Catholic bishops of Poland have issued a document on the value of healthy families and pro-family policies. At one point, they clearly warn Catholic politicians that they risk excommunication if they voice support for or acceptance of abortion.
The 100-page document, titled “To Serve the Truth about Marriage and Family,” is a compilation of Catholic doctrine on the value of family life. It was drafted by the bishops’ Council for Family Issues. Polskie Radio reports that the document discusses the duties of society towards the family as a crucial, fundamental part of a healthy society.
Discussing the duties of Catholic politicians specifically, the document said it is “absolutely not true” that a politician or government member “has to, or can, act against his conscience.”
“When it comes to God’s law, everybody is equal, politicians included,” the Polish bishops said.
The bishops said that anyone who publicly contradicts fundamental moral values, such as the commandment “Thou Shall Not Kill,” by voicing support or acceptance of abortion should be immediately excommunicated, Polskie Radio says.
Fr. Andrzej Rebacz, head of the bishops’ Council for Family Affairs and the National Chaplain for Families, commented on the document. He cited Pope John Paul II’s warning about “very strong, organized attacks on marriage and the family” and said these attacks could destroy the “Christian spirit” of Europe.
“These attacks include promotion of sex education at schools,” he added. “We have to remember who was the first to introduce the idea of sex education.”
Fr. Rebacz charged that sex education was developed by the Hungarian György Lukács, whom he described as a “communist ideologue.”  The priest said Lukács thought promiscuity was the best method to fight the institution of marriage, “in order to fight Christianity.”
Last year Polish Health Minister Ewa Kopacz, a self-described Catholic, was reported to have arranged an abortion for a 14-year-old. Catholic groups protested and brought up the question of whether she should be excommunicated.
Indiana Planned Parenthood Closes Five Centers After Hiding Abortion-Sex Abuse
Indianapolis, IN ( — Planned Parenthood of Indiana says it will close five of its 34 centers across the state due to changes in the way the federal government allocates family planning funds. The decision to close the centers comes after an expose’ found two of them hiding instances of possible statutory rape. In Indianapolis, the abortion business is closing its center near Michigan Road and 86th Street. According to a press statement, Planned Parenthood will also close facilities in Anderson, Kokomo, Franklin and Shelbyville. The centers are closing despite the record amount of money the abortion business received from the federal government in the last fiscal year.
The total government grants and contracts received by PPFA affiliates from government sources including state, local and federal governments, increased from $337 million to $350 million. Looking at Planned Parenthood data from 1997 to the present, the increase in government funding corresponds with an increase in the number of abortions.

An estimated 19 children were killed at Rockford’s abortion mill;     Rockford Silent No More Sun Oct 4;     Rockford Area Pregnancy Care Center fund raiser;     Beautiful short video staring  Eduardo Verastegui from Bella;     Future of the Pro-Life Movement;   Pro aborts can’t handle the truth;  Link between Nazi Eugenics and ObamaCare….

On Friday August 28, an estimated 10 children were killed at Rockford’s abortion mill.  We had visible examples this morning of the life and death spiritual battles that take place at Rockford’s abortion mill.  One young father brought his girlfriend to the mill for an abortion.  He then stood in the parking lot smoking while he listened to pregnant sidewalk counselor plead for the life of his child.  He also hear the words of a Catholic Priest speak of God’s love, and the powerful testimony of a once abortion supporter and now pro-lifer who years ago encouraged a woman to have an abortion and how this decision hurts him every day of his life.  After listening to these loving people offer him and his girlfriend love and help all the young man could do was make a sarcastic comment and go inside the killing center to end the life of his son or daughter.
Yet, later this morning the grace of God gave a different young mother the love and courage to choose life in the face of her angry father. This young lady was brought to the mill this morning by her parents to end the life of the child with in her.  But the cold reality of the abortion mill and the sense of death that pervades the killing center gave this young mother the faith and courage to say no to death refuse to kill her baby, and say yes to the life of her child in spite of her angry father who wanted the child killed.
A sidewalk counselor was able to help the young girl choose life and gave her the support she needed.  We hope to be having a baby shower for her in the coming months.
On Wednesday September 2, an estimated 9 children were killed inside of Rockford’s abortion mill.
As more than a dozen Christians were praying and offering help for mothers and children a man driving by felt called to stop and tell us (in an angry voice) that we need abortion "so my taxes don’t have to pay for all those kids."  We told the gentleman that we have dozens of families willing to adopt any child and that killing a baby is not the right way to save a few dollars.  He drove off angry and the pro-lifers went back to prayer.

A few years ago in Toronto, the late Fr. Richard Neuhaus addressed the issue of what our attitude should be to disappointments and hardships in the pro-life struggle. He stated,
"There are many who do not understand that this is the great civil rights movement of our time, that this is the great human rights movement of our time… and the future will vindicate that we are the avant guard – we are the vanguard.
There are those in the pro-abortion camp who view their position as the progressive position. They are wrong. It is not progressive but barbaric.
This cause will not let you go. Will the Gospel of Life prevail? Oh, yes. The Gospel of Life will prevail. When and in what way we do not know. I am sure some of you know the lines of T.S. Elliot…"For us, there is only trying, the rest is not our business." I understand Elliot to be saying, "the rest is not our business, the rest is God’s business."
Abortion Supporters Can’t Handle The Truth
Operation Rescue’s Troy Newman attempts to give abortion "deathscorts" a sonogram picture of a baby saved from abortion at Carhart’s abortion mill in Bellevue, NE just minutes before.
Their reaction is comical as they plug their ears, chant, and block their eyes with their signs.
Glen Beck Exposes Dangerous Link Between Nazi Eugenics and ObamaCare Reform Experts
By Peter J. Smith
WASHINGTON, D.C., August 27, 2009 ( – "Question with boldness." That is the motto of radio host and FOX News television host Glenn Beck, who says he asks questions no different than ordinary Americans – he just has an army of researchers to help him explore these questions. But what the question explores is the disturbing relationship between eugenics, Nazism, and the imposition of Obama’s health care plan upon the United States.
Like the old adage "those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it," Beck has looked back to the past to get a glimpse of the future. Throughout the past few weeks, Beck has given considerable attention to the Obama Administration centralizing power under the Executive Branch away from Congress through the appointment of more than 31 powerful "Czars" or "special policy advisors" as the Administration prefers to call them.
Beck argues that the Obama administration’s appointment of czars unaccountable to Congress, ramming massive legislation through Congress, and especially his health-care plan, bear close resemblance to how Germany’s National Socialists consolidated overwhelming powers under the executive led by Adolf Hitler in such a way that strangled democracy in Germany.
Although many people remember the National Socialists for their brutal extermination of the Jews during World War II, Western leaders like Winston Churchill had condemned National Socialism as a regime contrary to the very root of Christian civilization and "guided by the lights of perverted science."
The question Beck asks is, why does Obama surround himself with so many advisors to reform health-care, who do not believe all human lives have equal value?" And one of Obama’s czars believes that even after birth, a child is not yet human.
Roots of Nazi Eugenics
"They tried to figure out how much is a life worth and put a price on how much each individual is worth," said Beck, making clear that the logical conclusion is that some lives are worth more than others.
The roots of Germany’s eugenics program, however, began in England and the United States. Beck traces its beginning with the social progressives creating laws mandating compulsory sterilization for groups which the state deemed "procreation inadvisable": such as the destitute, criminals, and the mentally disabled, some of the most vulnerable members of society. Illinois passed the first compulsory sterilization law in 1907, and more than 30 other states would follow before the Nazis rise to power in Germany.
One of the most egregious cases of this type of human rights violation is Buck v. Bell in 1927. In that case, Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes ruled that Virginia was right to sterilize Carrie Buck against her will because, "three generations of imbeciles are enough." Buck, however, was poor but not mentally disabled. Buck’s sister Doris was also sterilized forcibly when she was hospitalized for appendicitis, but she never found out why she could not have children until 1980.
Beck said that "no one is saying that eugenics is coming" or the "master race," but a lesson should be drawn from Germany, which descended down the dark road of perpetuating crimes against humanity once they had accepted the principle that there was "Lebensunwertes Leben" or "life unworthy of life."
Nazi Germany: Cutting Costs By Making Judgments on Quality of Life
For Beck, the idea of "life unworthy of life" gets personal. His daughter has cerebral palsy and he tells his viewers that doctors told him that statistically she would never walk, talk, or feed herself."She went to college. They were wrong," Beck says.
But Germany, which provided universal health care, began to view Germans with conditions like cerebral palsy as primarily a drain on health resources that could be allocated to healthier Germans. Beck choked up as he held a Nazi poster that featured a man with cerebral palsy and said it costs 60,000 Marks to keep him alive. Another poster said that the resources spent for one year on a mental institution could have built homes for Germans.
"What happened in Germany was that they could not afford health-care for all," warns Beck.
Beck repeats that he does not mean to say that President Obama is building a euthanasia program, like Germany’s T4 program, which put to death around 70,000 human beings they deemed physically or mentally unfit. However, what Obama and his advisors have in common with Germany is the idea that some lives are worth more than others, and in the crisis of the Depression.
But the danger is that since Germany succumbed to National Socialism after its inflationary practices destroyed the economy in 2009, there is a real danger that the enormous national debt of the United States and its inflation of the money supply in order to stimulate the economy could lead to a similar collapse. Such a situation would create, amongst many other dire outcomes, near unavoidable rationing of healthcare.
"If there is a crisis what will they do? Whose voice will he hear?" asks Beck.
Beck says that answer lies with what President Obama himself said on the campaign trail: if one wants to know his policies, then pay attention to his advisors.
So when it comes to health-care reform: four advisors behind the effort deserve special attention: Dr. Ezekiel Emmanuel, Health Reform Policy Advisor; John Holdren, Science Czar; Cass Sunstein, the Regulatory Czar; and Van Jones, the Green Jobs Czar.
Another article will detail Beck’s unusually frank and alarming revelations about Obama’s advisors – revelations made on his Fox television program that is skyrocketing in popularity and which Obama supporters are frantically attempting to shut down.
