As you may know some of the highest levels of government have declared that the majority of the people of this nation ( over 56%) are considered terrorists because they are pro-life.
Kevin Rilott of the Rockford life Initiative speaks out on the state of the culture of life in our area.
We at the Pro-Life Corner were pleased to be granted this opportunity to talk with Kevin and get his thoughts on the situation in Rockford, IL. We are happy to be able to share this interview with you now.

Rockford 40 Days For Life
A drama of life and death is being played out during these 40 Days of Lent.
This spiritual battle is taking place on a quiet sidewalk in Rockford in front of a building where over 50,000 children have been killed and the owners mock and ridicule God.
In the first few days of Rockford’s 40 Days for Life this battle is being fought by a woman in a wheel chair who came to pray for six hours. Buy a four year old boy who’s pro-life mother died. He came with his father as a way of honoring her memory and continuing her pro-life ministry. People like you and I who come to 1400 Broadway in Rockford to ask God to end the killing of so many children in our city and heal all those wounded by our culture of death.
Please take a look at the on-line vigil schedule http://www.40daysforlife.com/rockford/ and if you are able fill in an open hour of prayer. If you have any trouble signing up or have questions please call sue at 815-963-6340 or Lisa 815-914-8220.
The Rockford Labor News building located right next to the abortion facility is open to pro-lifers. They have pro-life signs you can carry while you pray, a bathroom you can use, and a place to sit and get warm if needed.
Thank you to every person who is praying for life and an end to abortion in Rockford. May God bless you and your families.
Prayer changes hearts and souls … so please keep praying!
Today’s devotional was prepared by Teresa Burke, executive director of Rachel’s Vineyard ministries.
May the King of the Universe, who entered this world as a helpless infant, give us the humility to behealed.
My power is made perfect in weakness.
— 2 Corinthians 12:9
The great mystery of the Humility of God is very near
and dear to the mission of those serving in pro life
and in a special way, post abortion ministries across
For those wounded by their participation in abortion,
the door to healing often feels like crossing an abyss
of great fear: fear of judgment, fear of being torn
apart by the pain, by self hatred and rage at those
who hurt and abandoned you, and manipulated you in
your time of temptation.
For men in particular, entering the unknown waters of
emotional vulnerability, so necessary to healing calls
for a different kind of courage that feels deceptively
The door to healing is humility.
It is born in the inability to no longer control the
pain, to live with the consequences of that tragic
decision to reject life. The hearts cries out, "I have
committed a grave offense against my Creator and I am
consumed by regret, grief and sorrow!"
During these forty days let us pray for all who have
participated in abortion and with love call them to
healing and reconciliation. With healing these women
and men can become as John Paul II proclaimed in the
Gospel of Life, "the most eloquent defenders of
everyone’s right to life."
Jesus proclaimed, "I am the Vine, you are the
branches" (John 15:5). To bear the greatest fruit, the
branches must be pruned. Each level of pruning of the
vine requires a deeper level of humility so that we
can abandon ourselves to His will.
This is not a lofty theological concept as much as it
is an earthy experience of pulling weeds, tilling
rocky soil, pruning and healing the vines. "If a man
wishes to come after me, he must deny his very self,
take up his cross, and begin to follow in my
footsteps" (Matthew 16:24).
Lord, during these forty days, we ask that with each
day of this sacred vigil, everything in us that
separates us from your perfect will would be pruned
from our hearts and souls.
In this blessed freedom may we experience a powerful
anointing of your Holy Spirit. Filled with confidence
and trust may we proclaim with the mother of Jesus,
"Let it be done to me, according to your Word."

February 15, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) — The largest-ever 40 Days for Life spring campaign is set to begin in 165 cities across the globe this Wednesday.
40 Days for Life is a community-based campaign that works to end abortion through 40 days of prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil outside of abortion facilities, and community outreach. "We have seen so many miracles" in past campaigns, Bereit recounted, "from 2,168 babies, that we know of, saved [in] past 40 Days for Life campaigns. We’ve seen over 300,000 people involved in past 40 Days for Life campaigns.
"We’ve seen five abortion centers closed down following 40 Days for Life campaigns, and 28 abortion workers who have left their jobs as a result of 40 Days for Life."
40 Day for Life began in the fall of 2004, after a pro-life group in Bryan, Texas, prayed for an answer about how to reduce abortion in their area. The campaign lead to a 28 percent decline in abortions in their community. Soon the idea caught on in other areas and the first national 40 Days for Life campaign was conducted in the fall of 2007.
Since then, two 40 Days for Life campaigns have been held each year, one in spring and one in fall. The Fall 2009 40 Days for Life campaign became an occasion of special celebration when Abby Johnson, the director of the Bryan Planned Parenthood where the campaign began, experienced a conversion and resigned after watching an abortion on an ultrasound machine. She is now an active pro-life advocate with 40 Days for life. This spring’s campaign will be conducted not only in the United States, but also in Canada, Northern Ireland, and Australia.
This campaign promises to be the largest spring campaign yet; fall efforts tend to be larger than those in the spring because of colder weather. Last spring, 135 cities across North America, Canada, Northern Ireland, and Australia participated.
