Under-the-Radar Pro-Abortion Violence

Rockford, Il – (ProLifeCorner.com) – 1-31-2012 – by Rockford Pro-Life Initiative – Life Dynamics has released a report on pro-abortion violence which will shock you! The legalization of abortion has introduced this question "How would the kind of men who rely on abortion as a safety net react when the women they impregnate are unwilling to have an abortion?"

The answer to that question is found in Life Dynamics’ Newest Report called: "Under-the-Radar Violence in the Conflict Over Abortion."

Komen to Stop Grants to Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz

by Steven Ertelt | LifeNews.com | After years of protests and criticism from pro-life advocates, the biggest breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen for the Cure has announced it is halting further grants and donations to the Planned Parenthood.

Figures from August directly from the Komen for the Cure foundation show 18 affiliates of the breast cancer charity gave a total of more than $569,000 to the Planned Parenthood abortion business in 2010. That was down from the $731,303 Komen officials publicly confirmed in October 2010, when they acknowledged that 20 of the 122 Komen affiliates gave to Planned Parenthood during the 2009 fiscal year.
Now, Komen says it is halting all grants because of public pressure from pro-life groups and due to the impending investigation in Congress of the Planned Parenthood abortion business.
The policy makes it so no further Planned Parenthood grants will be given unless the investigation results in Planned Parenthood’s favor.
According to Fox News, Komen spokeswoman Leslie Aun said “the cutoff results from the charity’s newly adopted criteria barring grants to organizations that are under investigation by local, state or federal authorities. According to Komen, this applies to Planned Parenthood because it’s the focus of an inquiry launched by Rep. Cliff Stearns, R-Fla., seeking to determine whether public money was improperly spent on abortions.”
Aun said pro-life pressure was less of a factor than the Congressional investigation.
“We want to maintain a positive relationship with them,” she said of Planned Parenthood. “We’re not making any judgment.”
Planned Parenthood officials are upset by the decision and have already publicly responded, saying they will quickly try to raise the funds Komen had generated.
“It’s hard to understand how an organization with whom we share a mission of saving women’s lives could have bowed to this kind of bullying,” Richards told The Associated Press. “It’s really hurtful.”

Richard indicated Komen officials informed Planned Parenthood in December of the decision and that it came via a phone call from top Komen officials. Planned Parenthood responded by requesting a meeting with the Komen board, including CEO Nancy Brinker and board chairman Dr. LaSalle D. Leffall, Jr. Komen, according to Fox News, replied with a letter ignoring the request for a meeting and adding, “We understand the disappointment of any organization that is affected by these policy and strategy updates.”
“We’re kind of reeling,” said Patrick Hurd, who is CEO of Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Virginia, told Fox News. “It sounds almost trite, going through this with Betsi, but cancer doesn’t care if you’re pro-choice, anti-choice, progressive, conservative. Victims of cancer could care less about people’s politics.”
Komen affiliates in Austin, Texas; Central New Mexico; El Paso, Texas; Greater Amarillo, Texas; Los Angeles County, California; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Salt Lake City, Utah stopped giving to the abortion business while affiliates in Dallas County, Texas; Denver, Colorado; North Carolina Triad; North Carolina Triangle; and Puget Sound, Washington all began new relationships with Planned Parenthood in 2011.
A Komen affiliate in Orange County, California is the last to have given a grant to the abortion business, doing so in December. The grant was approved prior to Komen announcing its changes.
“Stephanie Kight, a vice president with Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties, said her affiliate in Southern California received a Komen grant for 2011 and was able to obtain an additional grant of $120,000 for 2012 by signing the deal with its local Komen counterpart just before Komen’s new criteria took effect,” according to Fox.

Rosary Campaign for Religious Freedom

Rockford, Il – (ProLifeCorner.com) – 1-31-2012 – On January 20, 2012, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced that the Obama administration would uphold a mandate that would force Catholic institutions to subsidize–through their health care plans–contraception, sterilization procedures and pharmaceuticals that even …result in abortion. This is a serious encroachment on religious freedom, which forces Catholic employers not only to consent to, but also directly engage in practices that are morally incompatible with the Catholic Faith and are gravely sinful.

The Bishops of the Catholic Church in the United States have unanimously agreed to fight this mandate relentlessly. We should also do our part in the public square, making our voices heard to our respective Senators and Representatives.

But we can’t fight this battle unarmed. This war on Religious Freedom and the protection of Conscience is a supernatural war, and we need Divine assistance.

So, beginning on February 1, please join us in an 18 day Rosary Novena for the overturning of this mandate and for the conversion of the politicians who are trying to impose this upon us. Please pray a daily Rosary for 18 days for the following intentions

Day 1-9=For the overturning of the HHS mandate that would require Catholic institutions to provide health insurance plans to their employees, subsidizing contraception, sterilization, and abortifacient drugs. And for the conversion of our politicians

Day 10-18=In thanksgiving for our prayers being answered.

Please stand up for your Religious Liberty, and storm Heaven with your prayers.

"Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you receive it, and you will."–Mark 11:23-24

Commemoration of 39th Year Roe v Wade Prayer Service At Stephenson County Courthouse

Freeport, Il – (ProLifeCorner.com) –  January 23 –  Stephenson County residents gathered at the County Courthouse to commemorate the 39th anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision.
Though there was celebration of the fact that the Northern Illinois Women’s Center (NIWC) in Rockford, Il. has closed permanently, the main focus of the prayers was on repentance for the work left undone by the church that has left America in her current degraded condition. The event closed with a recitation of the Rosary led by PAWS, the  prolife action Group from Aquin High School.

Prayers were led by area pastors. The event was conducted by Christopher Clukey of the Stephenson County Right to Life, Board of Directors, with Pastor Mike Sowell of Faith Center Freeport, Pastor Fred Woodruff of The Bridge and Outreach Director Jon Eastlick of Crossroads Community Church in attendance to lead prayer.
 Our Video:

BY ARCHBISHOP TIMOTHY M. DOLAN: (THE WALL STREET JOURNAL: JANUARY 25, 2012)  How about some respect for Catholics and others who object to treating pregnancy as a disease? Religious freedom is the lifeblood of the American people, the cornerstone of American government.  When the Founding Fathers determined that the innate rights of men and women should be enshrined in our Constitution, they so esteemed religious liberty that they made it the first freedom in the Bill of Rights.

In particular, the Founding Fathers fiercely defended the right of conscience.  George Washington himself declared: "The conscientious scruples of all men should be treated with great delicacy and tenderness; and it is my wish and desire, that the laws may always be extensively accommodated to them."  James Madison, a key defender of religious freedom and author of the First Amendment, said: "Conscience is the most sacred of all property."

Scarcely two weeks ago, in its Hosanna-Tabor decision upholding the right of churches to make ministerial hiring decisions, the Supreme Court  unanimously and enthusiastically reaffirmed these longstanding and foundational principles of religious freedom.  The court made clear that they include the right of religious institutions to control their internal affairs.

Yet the Obama administration has veered in the opposite direction.  It has refused to exempt
religious institutions that serve the common good — including Catholic schools, charities and hospitals — from its sweeping new health-care mandate that requires employers to purchase contraception, including abortion-producing drugs, and sterilization coverage for their employees.
Last August, when the administration first proposed this nationwide mandate for contraception and sterilization coverage, it also proposed a "religious employer" exemption.  But this was so narrow that it would apply only to religious organizations engaged primarily in serving people of the same religion.  As Catholic Charities USA’s president, the Rev. Larry Snyder, notes, even Jesus and His disciples would not qualify for the exemption in that case, because they were committed to serve those of other faiths.

Since then, hundreds of religious institutions, and hundreds of thousands of individual citizens, have raised their voices in principled opposition to this requirement that religious institutions and individuals violate their own basic moral teaching in their health plans.  Certainly many of these good people and groups were Catholic, but many were Americans of other faiths, or no faith at all, who recognize that their beliefs could be next on the block.  They also recognize that the cleverest way for the government to erode the broader principle of religious freedom is to target unpopular beliefs first.

Now we have learned that those loud and strong appeals were ignored.  On Friday, the administration reaffirmed the mandate, and offered only a one-year delay in enforcement in some cases — as if we might suddenly be more willing to violate our consciences 12 months from now. As a result, all but a few employers will be forced to  purchase coverage for contraception, abortion drugs and sterilization services even when they seriously object to them.   All who share the cost of health plans that include such services will be forced to pay for them as well.

Surely it violates freedom of religion to force religious ministries and citizens to buy health coverage to which they object as a matter of conscience and religious principle.

The rule forces insurance companies to provide these services without a co-pay, suggesting they are "free" — but it is naïve to believe that.  There is no free lunch, and you can be sure there’s no free abortion, sterilization or contraception.  There will be a source of funding: you.

Coercing religious ministries and citizens to pay directly for actions that violate their teaching is an unprecedented incursion into freedom of conscience.  Organizations fear that this unjust rule will force them to take one horn or the other of an unacceptable dilemma: Stop serving people of all faiths in their ministries — so that they will fall under the narrow exemption — or stop providing health-care coverage to their own employees.

The Catholic Church defends religious liberty, including freedom of conscience, for everyone.  The Amish do not carry health insurance.  The government respects their principles.  Christian Scientists want to heal by prayer alone, and the new health-care reform law respects that.  Quakers and others object to killing even in wartime, and the government respects that principle  for conscientious objectors.  By its decision, the Obama administration has failed to show the same respect for the consciences of Catholics and others who object to treating pregnancy as a disease.

This latest erosion of our first freedom should make all Americans pause.  When the government tampers with a freedom so fundamental to the life of our nation, one shudders to think what lies ahead.

IF YOU WANT A MORE DETAILED EXPLANATION OF WHAT HAPPENED: An article by Archbishop Dolan, Pres of the USCCB.(January 2012):

Bishops Litter
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
I write to you concerning an alarming and serious matter that negatively impacts the Church in the United States directly, and that strikes at the fundamental right to religious liberty for all citizens of any faith. The federal government, which claims to be "of, by, and for the people," has just dealt a heavy blow to almost a quarter of those people—the Catholic population—and to the millions more who are served by the Catholic faithful.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced last week that almost all employers, including Catholic employers, will be forced to offer their employees’ health coverage that includes sterilization, abortion-inducing drugs, and contraception. Almost all health insurers will be forced to include those "services" in the health policies they write. And almost all individuals will be forced to buy that coverage as a part of their policies.
In so ruling, the Administration has cast aside the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, denying to Catholics our Nation’s first and most fundamental freedom, that of religious liberty. And as a result, unless the rule is overturned, we Catholics will be compelled and must be prepared either to violate our consciences, or to drop health coverage for our employees (and suffer the penalties for doing so). The Administration’s sole concession was to give our institutions one year to comply.
We cannot—we will not—comply with this unjust law. People of faith cannot be made second class citizens. We are already joined by our brothers and sisters of all faiths and many others of good will in this important effort to regain our religious freedom. Our parents and grandparents did not come to these shores to help build America’s cities and towns, its infrastructure and institutions, its enterprise and culture, only to have their posterity stripped of their God given rights. In generations past, the Church has always been able to count on the faithful to stand up and protect her sacred rights and duties. I hope and trust she can count on this generation of Catholics to do the same. Our children and grandchildren deserve nothing less.
And therefore, I would ask of you two things. First, as a community of faith we must commit ourselves to prayer and fasting that wisdom and justice may prevail, and religious liberty may be restored. Without God, we can do nothing; with God, nothing is impossible. Second. I would also recommend visiting www.usccb.org/conscience to learn more about this severe assault on religious liberty, and how to contact Congress in support of legislation that would reverse the Administration’s decision.
With every good wish and prayer, I remain
Cordially yours in Christ,
The Most Reverend Thomas G. Doran, J.C.D., D.D. Bishop of Rockford

The New Yorker Meets Rockford's Abortion Mill

Rockford, Il – (ProLifeCorner.com) – 1-29-2012 – by Rockford Pro-Life Initiative – The letter below was written to a local newspaper by a man who would stroll up and down the sidewalks of Rockford’s abortion mill, carrying a pro-baby-killing sign, while he was reading The New Yorker magazine.  It was a surreal sight to see a man so devoid of compassion that he would read an elitist magazine while a few feet away from him babies were having their skulls crushed and their beating hearts ripped out while their mothers were subjected to a dangerous, unsanitary, and deadly child-killing procedure.

The radical chic mindset that can read The New Yorkers as children are being viciously killed is what the culture of death has done to the hearts, minds, and souls of those who are willing to kill babies on the demonic altar of "choice."
Below is a letter written by this abortion supporter with our commentary in red:
Thank you for the balanced editorial (The Register Star is NOT balanced; it has admitted it is pro-abortion) appearing in the Jan. 15 issue concerning the closing of the Northern Illinois Women’s Center.
A plurality of U.S. citizens supports the right of women to control their reproductive destinies (This is a lie.  Most Americans believe abortion should either be outlawed or have strict controls over it). As former President Clinton once said, “Abortion should be safe and legal, but rare.” (Abortion is never safe because a baby dies, and a mother becomes the killer of her own child.  Owning slaves was legal, and putting Jews in ovens was legal.  Mr. McClendon himself stood outside Rockford’s abortion mill, encouraging mothers to kill so in reality he doesn’t even want it rare.).
Lack of community support has been cited as a factor in the closing (He’s right.  Our community did finally get sick of babies being brutally killed in an abortion mill known for its racism, mocking of women and children, and bigotry).  I think that has less to do with the public at large than it does with the economics of medicine (That’s a strange statement.  The Rockford abortion mill posted many signs bragging about how much money it made killing babies.).
Clearly, no area hospital or clinic is currently willing to include the addition of abortion procedures because the opposition of a small, persistent group of religious zealots would interfere (A small but always growing group of people who through love for God and love for women and children sacrificed for years to end the murder of babies in the womb – thank You, Jesus). Profit would suffer (so is he saying liberals only murder babies for profit?).
As a result, women without insurance must do the best they can (Again, the poor and minorities are the target of choice of the baby killers.).
Those opposed to choice cited concern for the safety of women using the clinic (Well, yes, we are concerned when a clinic does not sanitize its surgical instruments.  It’s funny though.  Rockford’s abortion supporters never said a word about women who were subjected to subhuman conditions in Rockford’s abortion mill.).
A concrete expression of that concern would be to desist from demonstrating at clinics, allowing them to be located in places meeting state regulations (The place has nothing to do with it.  The conditions inside abortion mills are horrific because they are in the business of slaughtering human beings.).
I wonder how long it would take the city to encourage a group of animal rights activists, toting lurid signs and harassing patrons of a restaurant featuring meat dishes, to relocate because protests interfered with business? (If this is the best defense he can give for murdering human beings in their mothers’ wombs, it’s no wonder people are beginning to see abortion for the crime against God and humanity that it is.)

The Rockford Abortion Mill Darkens Minds And Destroys Lives

Rockford, Il – (ProLifeCorner.com) – 1-28-2012 – by Rockford Pro-Life Initiative – Below is a public letter written by Barb Giolitto, concerning Rockford’s abortion mill.  She is trying to defend and promote the killing of children.   Barb, a former one term State Representative, instead of promoting the culture of death should be apologizing to the people of Rockford.  She stood at the driveway of Rockford’s abortion mill on numerous occasions, blocking mothers from receiving offers of free help or the opportunity to see a free ultrasound of the child in her womb.

After blocking these women from having a choice, Barb sent these unsuspecting women into the dangerous Rockford abortion mill.  This was an abortion mill that, at the same time Barb was standing at the driveway taking away women’s choices, was breaking the law and endangering women’s lives by not having a registered nurse on staff, no admitting privileges at local hospitals, and using the most disgusting signs promoting racism, bigotry, and discrimination Rockford has ever seen.
Barb never told these mothers that this abortion mill had unsanitary operating rooms, dirty surgical instruments, and a non-working autoclave that should have been sanitizing the surgical tools!  The failure of this autoclave could have spread STD’s from woman to woman because the surgical instruments may not have been sterilized!
These conditions were so dangerous and disgusting that the State of Illinois issued an emergency order closing this mill to protect women – yet Barb has never publicly apologized for her blocking mothers from receiving free information about alternatives to these possibly deadly and horrific conditions.
People such as Barb need our prayers.  Her ability to truly care for women has clearly been distorted by the culture of death.  It is impossible to support the murder of babies for years and still be able to reason clearly.  Below is her public letter and our commentary in red.
It is unfortunate the Northern Illinois Women’s Center has closed (Hundreds of lives have already been saved because this dangerous baby-killing factory has been shut down), denying services (the butchering of babies) to women in nine counties. Sadly, this health procedure (Crushing the skull of a child is not a health procedure) has been turned into a religious and political issue (It is a religious, political, moral, philosophical, and medical issue when innocent human beings are murdered).

Last Sunday was the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.  Its opponents know they cannot overturn it (Barb is right.  Pro-lifers won’t overturn it.   God will crush the culture of death in God’s time and God’s way), but through harassment and bullying (In other words pro-lifers offer love and support to mothers, and the pro-aborts feel harassed when moms choose life) we are seeing abortion becoming not illegal, but inaccessible, thus, taking us back to the days when women died of illegal, unsafe abortions (All abortions are unsafe.  A baby dies, and Barb did not seem to care about the unsafe conditions in the NIWC).

Radical opponents
(such as the radical abolitionists who ended slavery) have bullied and intimidated patients and all others involved (The pro-aborts feel bullied when they are asked why they support murdering babies in the womb – and they can’t answer).

They do not walk in the shoes of a desperate woman who cannot afford another child
(Pro-lifers offer these mothers love and help – pro-aborts offer them a bloody dead baby and a lifetime of regret), or whose body is unable to sustain a pregnancy (Again, pro-lifers offer what any mother needs to "sustain" a pregnancy.  Pro-aborts want to see the baby brutally murdered). Those who say they believe big government should stay out of our lives (Yes, the liberals should stop supporting the murder of babies), yet want to deny a woman’s right to choose are clearly hypocritical at best.  A woman’s decision to discontinue a pregnancy is a personal, private health issue (Is it a woman’s right to discontinue being a mother by killing a three year old child? That is the same thing as killing a three month old child in her womb – murder is murder).

The Winnebago County Citizens for Choice is optimistic a physician has the courage (It doesn’t take courage to murder a defenseless baby – just heartless greed) to open a new clinic, that local hospitals will be supportive of it, and our city officials will provide a safe environment for its patients (After the racism, bigotry, and unsanitary conditions of the NIWC, the city of Rockford knows what abortion is really all about).— Barb Giolitto, president, Winnebago County Citizens for Choice
