Kickoff the Fortnight by attending a Red Mass tomorrow!

By Mitch Striedl- As many of you already know, the Diocese of Rockford is kicking off the “Fortnight for Freedom” by having  Red Masses in each deanery tomorrow.  I would like to encourage your attendance at one of these Masses.  Also please invite others to attend, so that each Mass has a large gathering.  There will be no better way to start this Fortnight that to come together to celebrate the Eucharist. What We Do And Do Not Know About The Pro-Life Bus Fire Bombed In Rockford, IL – ( – 6-20-2012 – by Rockford Pro-Life Initiative – In the early morning hours of Saturday, June 16, a person or persons unknown broke holes in windows on both sides of a school bus owned by Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy. Two fire bombs were thrown inside the bus that is covered with a clear pro-life, pro-Christian message. The ensuing fire melted seats, covered the entire inside of the bus with soot, and caused extensive smoke damage.  After a few days have passed, we know a few things about what happened but still much remains a mystery. Fortnight for Freedom

Rockford IL.-  The fourteen days from June 21, the vigil of the Feasts of St. John Fisher and St. Thomas Moore, to July 4, Independence Day, are dedicated to “Fortnight for Freedom”. During these days, our liturgical calendar celebrates a series of great martyrs who remained faithful in the face of persecution by political power; St. Thomas Moore, St. John Fisher, St. John the Baptist, SS. Peter and Paul and the first martyrs of the Holy Roman Church. Culminating on Independence Day, this is a special period of prayer and public action that empha­sizes both our Christian and American heritage of liberty. Continue reading

Pro-Life School Bus FIRE BOMBED in Rockford, IL

UPDATE- Glenn Beck blog weighs in on this event; see below.   Rockford, IL – ( – 6-15-2012 – by Rockford Pro-Life Initiative – A large school bus, owned by Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy, that is well known throughout Rockford for its beautiful pro-life pictures and words asking people to “pray to end abortion”,  was fire bombed on Friday night.  The damage was extensive to the bus as windows were broken in on both sides and fire bombs were thrown inside to cause maximum damage. What Did We Learn From Rockford’s Abortion Empire In Ruins?

The owner of the Northern Illinois Women’s Center Richard Ragsdale was doing up to 75 abortions a week in Rockford, pulling in millions of dollars.
