Thanksgiving Is For Every Day – 11-29-2013 – by Staff – Many of the Rockford pro-life advocates are familiar with our good friend Barney Baxter.  Barney recently underwent a triple bypass, a very serious operation which can be a traumatic and painful event in one’s life.  Barney sent us a beautiful note which we have posted below.  He was hoping we would include this in our Thanksgiving post.  When we hear Barney’s words, we realize that being thankful to our Lord for His many blessings and our family and friends, should not be for just one holiday but for every day of the year.  God bless you, Barney.  May our Lord bless you with a speedy recovery. Happy Thanksgiving 2013

Accept O Lord, our thanks and praise you for all you have done for us. We thank You for…

The splendor of creation, the beauty of this world, the wonder of life and the mystery of love.

For the blessing of family and friends, for the loving care that surrounds us on every side, for setting us at task, which demands our best efforts, for leading us to accomplishments  which satisfy and delight us, and for disappointments and  failures that lead us to acknowledge our dependence on You alone.

Above all, we thank Your Son Jesus Christ, for the Truth of His Word and for the example of His Life, for His steadfast obedience by which He overcame temptation, for His dying through which He overcame death, for His rising to life again in which we are raised to life in Your Kingdom.

Grant us the gift of Your Holy Spirit that we may know Him and make Him known, and through Him at all times and in all places, give thanks to You in all things, Amen!

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at the ProLifeCorner

Rockford, Il – ( – 11-27-2013 – Many of you will remember Father Francis Lawlor who fought against abortion and pornography in Rockford a few decades ago.  He died on November 5 at the age of 95, just a few weeks shy of his 96th birthday. Father spent his life serving the people of God and defending innocent children from death.  He courageously defended life on the sidewalks outside of the infamous, now closed and disgraced, Rockford abortion mill. Vatican Embassy Move is Pure Politics

Bill Donohue comments on the desire of the Obama administration to move the U.S. Embassy to the Holy See to the American Embassy in Italy: There are principled reasons why some might say that the U.S. Embassy to the Holy See should be moved, such as safety concerns and economic issues. But when these reasons are being promoted by an administration that stood by and did nothing about the fatalities at the American facility in Benghazi—and to this day refuses to provide a full account—it strains credulity to believe that safety is their real interest. Moreover, no administration in American history has been more fiscally reckless than the Obama administration, making it risible to suggest that all of a sudden they have discovered austerity.
