Madonna Renewal Center Event Big Success

Freeport, Il – Pro Life Corner – 9-28-2014 – On September 20 the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary held a Bratfest “come and see” event for the community in and around Freeport.  As we reported in our article of 9-13-2014, this was to introduce the renovation of the former St. Francis Hospital/School into the Madonna Renewal Center.

The many people who attended this event were treated to good food, camaraderie, and the music of our “Blue Nuns”.  Please watch the video below and you will see that the music was enjoyed by all and the Sisters really enjoyed sharing their musical heritage with everyone.  You can see Nuns do have fun!  The joy was evident on their smiling faces and it was also seen in the faces of everyone at the Bratfest! Your Help Is Needed For New Billboard – Freeport, Il –  9-26-2014 – by Staff –  Late last year Stephenson County Right to Life and the Knights of Columbus began a campaign to erect pro-life billboards in and around the Freeport area.

Pictured below are the four signs already placed in Freeport.  One is at Walnut and Pleasant St.;  a double sided sign has been placed at the old railroad station; the fourth sign is located on Pearl City Road, West of Freeport near Highland Community College.  Continue reading

2014 International Mass and Maryfest

Pro Life Corner – Freeport, IL – 9-17-2014 – St. Mary’s Parish in Freeport recently hosted the fourth annual International Mass and Maryfest.  On August 18th, An International Mass was held at St. Mary Parish at noon. Our Mary Fest was a celebration of ALL nationalities within our church community and  included languages, music & food from: France, Germany, the Philippines, Nigeria, Mexico and America.
