ProLifeCorner.com- Pastor Timothy Barr’s homily today cautions us to not to interpret reality through our emotions. He explains that passions are not a bad thing but they must be guided by the truth. That truth is Jesus Christ. When we are obedient to the truth there is great joy. He further stated that the man is the head of the family but the woman is the heart of the family sharing equal responsibility and, hopefully through their teachings and actions, are leading their children to heaven. ProLifeCorner- – Freeport, Il – It’s here! For several weeks we have been waiting for a special car to arrive so we can present it to everyone. That day has arrived!
First let’s get a little background to let you know why all of us involved with the Madonna Renewal Center (MRC) are so excited about this car. After all, a car is just a car-right? Wrong! This car is a vintage automobile donated to the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary so they can raffle it off. This will mean a wonderful contribution to the restoration of the Madonna Renewal Center. The donor wishes to remain anonymous so we respect his/her wishes and can only say “Thank you and God bless you” whoever you may be. Continue reading →
ProLifeCorner- Freeport Illinois – The Feast of Corpus Christi (Body of Christ) celebrates the belief in the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ and His Real Presence in the Eucharist. After Mass was celebrated by Father Timothy Barr and Deacon Paul Ranney, there was a procession escorted by the Knights of Columbus and some parishioners of St. Joseph and St. Mary’s parishes, and the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ.
This group of worshipers proceeded from St. Joseph’s church, traveled up Galena Street and turned easterly up Pleasant Street until they arrived at State Street and turned to arrive at St. Mary’s parish. There they celebrated a brief Benediction honoring our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Continue reading →

Eating and drinking are among the most important things human beings do. From the time we are fed by our mothers as infants and onwards, there is no more basic need. Eating and drinking are also a fundamental part of how we build our society. Families eat together, friends and colleagues meet to eat and drink, whether it be in a nice restaurant or a fast-food outlet at a local shopping center. Birthdays, graduations, weddings and funerals are usually marked by some sort of eating and drinking. Continue reading →
ProLifeCorner- To our dear friends who do not understand the prayer which is called the Holy Rosary. Some only hear the repetitive prayers of the Hail Mary; however the Rosary is a meditative prayer. It consists of four different mysteries: The Joyful Mysteries, the Sorrowful Mysteries, the Glorious Mysteries, and more recently the Luminous Mysteries, which were added by Pope John Paul II.
We like to say “to Jesus through Mary.” The prayers of the Rosary should be said while meditating upon the life of our Lord, given to us through Holy Scripture and sacred tradition.
In saying the Rosary, Mary invites us to join her on a journey through the life of Jesus.
We are placing these Rosary videos on our prayer page for the convenience of those who like to pray the Rosary. It is also our sincere desire that Christians of other denominations can be exposed to these mysteries and realize that the Rosary is just not a series of repetitive prayers, but a means that will draw us closer to the Lord and hopefully inspire us with a strong desire to turn to the Holy Bible in order to see what else our Lord wants to reveal to us through the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the printed words of the Bible.
