Emmanuel, our King and Lawgiver

ProLifeCorner-

“O Emmanuel, our King and Lawgiver, the expectation of the nations and their Saviour, come to save us, O Lord our God!”

Emmanuel, God with us, is a name that in every way belongs to Christ our Lord. He is with His people in all their needs, ever ready to help and console them. He is with us on every altar, waiting for us to come and pour out before Him our sorrow and our needs. He is with us, above all, in Holy Communion, when He comes to dwell in our heart, and to bring with Him every grace that we need. He is with us in the hour of death, and He will be with us for ever in Heaven.

He who thus comes to dwell with us in familiar friendship is our King; He who thus condescends to be our companion is the God who has an absolute right to our obedience. He is our Lawgiver, and the statutes that He enacts for us have but one end and aim and object, to lead His subjects into the ways of happiness and the paths of peace.

Come then, O God, our Lord and our Saviour. “Come and save us” from all the perils of the evil one, and from our own weakness and frailty. Come and save us in the hour of temptation, for You alone are our King, and none save You shall rule over us. Come and bring us safe through this valley of tears to Your Eternal Kingdom, where we shall dwell for ever, O sweet Jesus, in the everlasting delights of Your blissful company. Continue reading

When is Abortion More Than Abortion?

When is Abortion More Than Abortion?

ProlifeCorner-  By Larry Plachno-

Larry-150x1 blue            There have been an increasing number of questions from conservatives regarding the liberal position on abortion. Why is it so important to them? Why do the liberals insist that abortion be funded with tax dollars? Why is abortion tied to marriage and church? And, why do liberals insist on killing a baby instead of allowing him or her to be adopted?

The answers to these questions all go back to the polarization of our society. For liberals, abortion is the “flagship” of their “fleet” of various positions supporting their liberal stand that decisions and actions should be determined by personal choice rather than by judging them as good or evil based on what is best for others. If abortion was eliminated, or at least judged from the standpoint of good and evil, it would seriously weaken the liberal position supporting choice over good and evil. If you give me a few minutes of your time, I will explain the background behind our polarized society and why abortion has emerged as a key point in this struggle. Continue reading

Pregnancy Care Center of Rockford Wins Injunction

Temporarily Halts Illinois Abortion Referral Mandate

Written By John Biver-  The First Amendment to the United States Constitution states::   Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

It seems that our nation’s founding fathers were not clear enough with their use of language in the First Amendment, which protects some of our God-given rights. That “make no law” thing is confusing for many, and that “abridging” business, well, that’s way over the heads of Illinois Leftist lawmakers.

In Illinois, our governor and General Assembly have now taken up the task of telling people what they can’t say. Reparative therapy is now against the law. So anyone seeking help to escape unwanted same-sex attraction or gender confusion are going to have to find a state where therapists retain their freedom of speech. Continue reading

IF I WAS AMERICAN, I’D WRITE TO PRESIDENT TRUMP

ProLifeCorner – 12-21-2016 – Mark Pickup is an outstanding spokesman for the unborn, the elderly, and those suffering with long term illnesses.  As a Canadian citizen he has worked tirelessly to improve standards of life in Canada and throughout the Americas, but after  you read this article you’ll see why we should all adopt Mark as a true US citizen as well.  Few people could have put this as well as he has.

IF I WAS AMERICAN, I’D WRITE TO PRESIDENT TRUMP

Although I’m not American, I have a deep an abiding love for America: I want the best for that great nation. I’ve been thinking about ways to promote a moral shift in America that the New Administration can encourage toward a national life-affirming consensus: A consensus that seeks a place for unwanted unborn children and ways to support their parents.  Continue reading

It’s official: Donald Trump is the Next President of the United States

It’s official: Donald Trump is the Next President of the United States

ProLifeCorner- Frank J. Munda

Donald Trump received 304 electoral votes. Donald Trump took 36 of the 38 electoral votes in Texas. Reuters reported that at least five Clinton electoral refused to vote for her. The interesting thing is, those on the left tried to get Republicans to defect and cast their vote for Hillary but more Democrats defected than Republicans. Two Republicans defected and voted against Trump, although not for Hillary.

It has been stated “The founding fathers “said the electoral college was not to elect a demagogue, was not to elect someone influenced by foreign powers, was not to elect someone who is unfit for office.”  If that’s the case Obama should have never been president and Hillary should not have been able to run. Trump won 98.2% of all of the counties across the U.S.

Editor ProLifeCorner- I am putting this article on as a point of interest. I am not a mathematician and it seems like people on both sides of the fence have plenty of figures to throw out. Read into or out of these figures whatever you want. It is my sincere hope that the reader will come away with a understanding that the electoral college is an very necessary part of our political system. Otherwise large cities would be dictating policy all across our land.

Trump won 98.2% of all of the counties across the U.S.

The founding fathers decided to establish an electoral college because they wanted the states to decide who should be President, and not the cities (where massive voter fraud can more easily take place).

In case your math is bad . . . Trump won 98.2% of all of the counties across the U.S.

Clinton won LESS than 2% of the nation’s counties.  That is almost a rounding error.

Who knew…

I knew this to be true, but in my wildest dreams I had no idea how true. Trump won 3,084 , of  3,141 counties in the USA. That’s absolutely incredible !!! Continue reading

Difficulty is Part of the Gift

Difficulty is Part of the Gift

“Now when John heard in prison about the deeds of the Christ, he sent word by his disciples and said to Him, “Are you He who is to come, or shall we look for another?”

One Christmas a boy in a remote far away village gave his teacher an exquisite seashell as a gift. He had walked many difficult miles over treacherous terrain to find it, to a special bay, the only place such shells could be found.

The teacher was quite moved by the boy’s gift, and understood where it had come from and the difficulty involved in obtaining it: “What a beautiful shell. You must have walked many difficult and dangerous miles for it. I am deeply grateful for your gift,” the teacher said. Continue reading
