Spiritual Blindness

Spiritual Blindness

“They answered him, You were born in utter sin, and you would teach us? And they cast him out!”

The late neurologist and author Oliver Sacks wrote about a man born blind whose sight was restored. This miracle occurred neither through prayer, nor through a concoction of dirt and divine saliva, but through a surgical correction of the patient’s eyes.

The blind man agreed eagerly to the surgery, experimental and delicate though it was. The operation went well, although the man’s eyes had to be bandaged for a time to let them heal, but at last the day came when the bandages could be removed. The surgical team, the man’s family, and others assembled as the nurses carefully unwound the dressings from the patient’s face. All were hushed, expectant.

For the first time in his life, the man opened his eyes and …

What were they expecting? What would you expect?

Jubilation! Joy! “Ah, color! Light! My wife’s sweet face, just as I’d always imagined it!”

But instead, the man turned his head from side to side to side. His expression was baffled and frightened.

“What’s wrong?” his doctor asked at last, and at the sound of his voice, the man turned in his direction.

“Oh, my God!” he said, his voice trembling. “I thought I was all alone.” And the man began to weep.

The man had been blind since birth. His brain knew only sound and touch, smell and taste; it had never received visual stimulation. It had never developed the neural pathways needed for processing visual images and had never created categories by which he might understand the data now crashing against his retinas on waves of light. Technically, his eyes worked — but he could not make sense of what he saw. Continue reading

Abortion Activists Kill Baby Jesus

Abortion Activists Kill Baby Jesus

ProLifeCorner-  Intro By Chris Munda-   By now we should all be aware that much evil is trying to destroy our faith, our family, and our world.  Can we do anything to regain our souls and our countries?  See:   A Healing for America: Sweet Hour of Prayer

The following article, from the excellent Lifenews.com is a prime example of the vile direction in which we are headed.  While this event took place in Argentina, we are headed in that same direction when we allow Planned Parenthood to sell the body parts of the babies they have aborted.  And Planned Parenthood receives close to a billion of our tax dollars! That is $100,000,000,000 of your tax dollars. And for what?  To murder babies in the womb and sell their body parts for profit!

All vestiges of moral values are disappearing as quickly as snow in the tropics.  Any respect for faith, the unborn, the elderly, the military and any other ideal we used to hold dear is being mocked and destroyed openly.

Please, pray unceasingly for the mercy of God.

Tired, But Putting Others Needs’ First

Tired, but putting others needs’ first

“Jesus, tired from His journey, sat down there at the well… A woman of Samaria came to draw water.”

In 1923, the Jewish theologian Martin Buber wrote an immensely influential little book entitled I and Thou. Buber’s main point is that there are two ways of relating to other people in our lives: We can see them as objects to be used — what Buber calls an “I-it” relationship; or we can see others as having feelings, dreams and needs as real and as important as our own that can be the basis for dialogue and relationship — an “I-Thou” relationship.

In his memoirs, Buber tells the story of how he came to his theory of I-Thou and I-It. When he was a professor of philosophy at a university in Germany, a young student came to see him. The student had received his draft notice to serve in the German army in World War I. He was a pacifist by nature and afraid of being killed in battle, but, at the same time, he was a loyal and fiercely patriotic German. He asked Buber what he should do: serve his country and risk being killed or claim conscientious objector status and perhaps leave another young man to be killed in his place. Continue reading

A Healing for America: Sweet Hour of Prayer

A Healing for America: Sweet Hour of Prayer

ProLifeCorner-  Frank J. Munda-   America needs a healing and she needs it now. I believe the next four years in America will be the most critical in all the history of this great nation. The forces of darkness and the forces of light are gathering. We who profess a belief in Christ are very much aware that the battle for the minds and souls of America is real, and it is a battle led on by principalities. And for those nonbelievers, the scoffers, the naysayers, please take a look at the signs of the times. Those on the left are believers as well, however they are invoking their god’s, by calling upon witches, all sorts of occult practices, curses, and calling upon the Prince of darkness himself, Satan and his minions. This in itself is proof that heaven and hell are real. Otherwise why would those on the left, who profess to be atheist, invoke Satan and the occult? Like it or not, believe it or not, this battle is real and it is unfolding before our very eyes.

The answer to all of our problems is prayer; our only hope is prayer. Without prayer this nation will be enslaved to sin and there will be no hope. Continue reading

Roger Nilles GoFundMe Campaign

Roger Nilles GoFundMe Campaign

ProLifeCorner- Freeport Il.- By Laraine Hruby-

Maybe a picture’s worth a thousand words, but first-hand experience is certainly worth more than a million! And it has been my good fortune to Roger Nilles 250xknow Roger and Louise and witness parts of their long history of working together to overcome many debilitating and sometimes life threatening health conditions.  Throughout it all, Louise works full-time and has been able to respond to the many ups and downs which require visits to doctors and ERs, stays in hospital and care centers, whatever it takes in order to treat and surmount conditions involving Roger’s lungs, heart, nervous and circulatory systems, and, most recently a vein collapse which resulted in the necessary amputation of Roger’s left leg above the knee.

And if I had to sum it all up in one word, I’d have to say “AMAZING!”

Yes, AMAZING, that in spite of all these health conditions, their life is not about trials and survival and focus on pains of the past, but about life and love and looking forward with grateful expectation to that special happiness that comes with love – the love of God and others. Creation vs Evolution

Creation vs Evolution

ProLifeCorner-  A good friend of the ProLifeCorner sent us this. He presented it as a homily to his congregation. I see it as one of the best articles that I have read in recent years on this subject. The half truths and the lies that our secular school system puts forth is a betrayal of responsibility to educate our children. Instead of reporting all the scientific facts, they choose to teach only what promotes their agenda and disregard any facts that contradict their spin.

I hope this article inspires you as much as it has inspired me.

Sincerely Frank J Munda

Creation vs Evolution

“The Lord God formed man out of the clay of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life, and so man became a living being.”

In his book Confessions, St. Augustine describes his search for truth:

“What is this God?” I asked the earth and it answered, ‘I am not He,’ and all things that are in the earth made the same confession. Then I asked the sea and the deeps and the creeping things, and they answered, ‘We are not  your God; seek higher…’ Continue reading
