A Catholic Bishops Elucidation

A Catholic Bishops Elucidation

CL 915 300xPro-Life Corner – 8-4-2016 – by Rockford Pro-Life Initiative – The pro-abortion Catholic politicians voted to mandate contraception coverage, and I refuse to discipline them –   Because I don’t want to seem judgmental.

The pro-abortion Catholic politicians voted to approve Supreme Court Justices who make it legal to kill babies in the womb and I didn’t discipline them –   Because I don’t want to be accused of being political.

The pro-abortion Catholic politicians like Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden and Tim Kaine use the media to teach Catholics that abortion and homosexuality are good things and I won’t discipline them –  Because people might think I am meddling in their personal lives.

The pro-abortion Catholic politicians vote to destroy marriage and force us to approve of homosexuality and I won’t discipline them – Because if I did the billions of dollars Catholic Relief Services receives from the Government might be in jeopardy.

When pro-abortion Catholic politicians publicly receive the Holy Eucharist with the blood of millions of children on their souls I will give them the Body of Christ – Because who am I to judge.

The pro-abortion Catholic politicians vote to give hundreds of millions of dollars to Planned Parenthood to kill babies and I won’t discipline them – Because they were just following their conscience.

The pro-abortion Catholic politicians are the public spokesman for sin, Satan, and the Culture of Death and I won’t discipline them – Because the Church could lose it’s tax exempt status.

The pro-abortion Catholic politicians vote for and directly make possible the vicious and brutal murder of millions of babies in the womb and I won’t discipline them – Because people might think I am mean and won’t like me any more.

One day maybe I can stand up to the pro-abortion Catholic politicians and act like I would rather stand with God and be judged by the world than stand with the world and be judged by God.

  1. The pro-abortion, pro-gay Catholic and Protestant politicians, priests, pastors and those of us in church, say this stuff, believe it, live it, vote for it just to get along in this world, not judge, not make people mad, keep our churches full, keep the collection plate full, maintain our tax-exempt status….do we understand that God is watching? He sees us, he hears us, He knows what is in our heart and minds. He sees what we do in the voting both. Do they understand, really understand, that their embarrassment, or losing money, or losing a friend to stay comfortable on earth is NOTHING compared to their discomfort in front of a righteous God on judgment day, especially if they remain unrepentant for their co-operation with evil. Do the Bishops who went along with this evil bill, just because it could have been worse. Do they really think God will be OK with that excuse. And the pro-life medical people and Pregnancy centers that WILL cave in to this bill, because they will rationalize that it is better to keep doing whatever they can to stop moms from having abortions, even if they do give them the phone numbers of where to get abortion, do they think that will be pleasing to God. What the medical people and PCC’s should do, is defy the law. Do not do what they will be ordered to do. then they will get fines. Refuse to pay. Then they will be ordered to close. Refuse to close. All of them, work together. Then when the SWAT teams show up with guns, they will be forced to drag them out of the building. With the TV cameras on, and supporters like us standing with them. Will that happen, NO. It will all be rationalized away, and God will be happy, right? They did their best. Lord what a weak, spineless, luke- warm bunch we are. How do you hold back your anger and not spit us out of your mouth?

    • I’m so proud of you Vicky Johnson! You spoke my heart. I’ve been off the computer, for a long time…about flipped when I read about what is happening. Too many people are worshiping the idols (false gods) praised by our secular world. Daily I thank God for the courageous, people…yes, more and more young people also..who live, pray and witness the living principles of Jesus.

  2. Thank you for this thought provoking article!
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing,” said Edmund Burke.
As a sidewalk counselor for many years, I am sick (to death) of all of the excuses given by so-called “Christian pro-lifers” when asked to pray near an abortion mill. If asked if they would die for Christ, they would go on and on about how they would do anything for Christ. Somehow I find that hard to believe, since they cannot even come out to pray just for a few minutes near the abortion mill. They have all sorts of complaints. They complain about the heat or cold or rain or snow, yet will stand outside in the church parking lot for at least 30 minutes or more in all kinds of weather, probably while talking about how valiant they are and how they want to die for Christ.
They complain about it not being their “calling” or “ministry”. I tell them about the helpless, innocent, voiceless babies who are counting on them to stand up for them and give them a voice. There’s a good story called, “Sing a Little Louder” about some people trying to sing louder in a church in Germany as the train load of people were calling out to the church members for help as they were prisoners on their way to the Nazi death camps. The church members were too uncomfortable to hear the voices calling out, so they sang a little louder to drown out the cries for help. Well, the babies cannot even cry out for help. The story of “Sing a Little Louder” is true and written by an old man who said he wished he would have at least tried to do something for those poor people on their way to the death camps. Now, he warns us to do something and not just ignore those who cannot help themselves and are about to experience a horrible, merciless death.
I tell the so-called “pro-life Christians” about how after the 2nd World War, Patton made the people living near the death camps walk through the camps to witness with their eyes, ears, noses, and whole beings all of the suffering and death that they allowed to happen near their homes. Maybe they thought it wasn’t their “calling” or “ministry” to help the suffering or dying in the camps near their homes. After their walk through the death camps, they were shaken to the core and upset by man’s cruelty to man and their own inaction in response to the horrible evil that happened so close to them.
So-called Christian pro-lifers tell me that they are too uncomfortable to come and pray near the abortion mill for even a few minutes. I ask them how uncomfortable the helpless, innocent, voiceless babies must feel as they are tortuously ripped apart in the wombs…and yes, they do feel pain! They have spines and nervous systems!
The pro-lifers on the sidewalk know that just their prayerful presence, by the grace of God, can turn people around and a lot of babies lives have been saved due to their prayerful presence! People come by and tell us that they changed their minds, because they saw us praying outside or near the abortion mill. I often say that if all of the people who called themselves “pro-life Christians” would come out to pray, even once or twice in a month, the abortion mills would close! It would be such a huge witness for life, that people would not want to ever enter the abortion mills and they would all be closed! Unfortunately, they are selfish or cowards and they do NOT come out to pray for life. Well, I often think of Edmund Burke’s statement, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Good men and women need to stop being so selfish and worried about being out of their “comfort zones” and they need to take up their crosses and follow Christ. By the grace of God, and good men and women doing something, then I believe we would see good triumphing!
Some tell me that they pray in church. Of course, that’s a good thing to do, however, we should all be doing that, besides witnessing for life!
Where are the good shepherds to lead the flock? Edmund Burke also said, “Nothing is so fatal to religion as indifference.” Christian shepherds cannot be fearful or indifferent. If they would take up their crosses and lead as Christ wants them to do, then good would flourish. Sadly, many are fearful or selfish and so they try to stay comfortable by straddling the fence or remaining quiet. They don’t want to rock the boat, but Jesus asked Peter to trust Him and when Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, He helped Peter to walk on water! They worry about themselves or their reputations in the world. Well, we are supposed to be in the world, but not of it…. we are not supposed to join in with the culture of death, but rather rail against it, with prayer and sacrifice and standing up for the culture of life, even if it makes us “feel” uncomfortable! Some say they have to play it safe or keep low key and keep quiet and bear with the times, however, I agree with Edmund Burke on his quote in regard to this very issue. He said, “There is, however, a limit at which forbearance ceases to be a virtue.” These people are not being virtuous, but cowards. They may try to fool themselves, but God is not mocked. He sees it all and knows our hearts. I pray that people will wake up and stop being afraid and selfish and will do God’s will. I pray that people, (myself included), will not just “talk the talk” as they say, but will also “walk the walk”, even if it may be a difficult one. Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus and Heaven, then, by the grace and love of God, it will not be too difficult to walk the walk, even the way of the cross. “And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.’ Matthew 25:40
    May God help us.

ED: Thank you Gail, and countless other sidewalk counselors, for your many years of sidewalk counseling and saving God’s precious pre-born. Be assured that when you close your earthly eyes for the last time you will open your spiritual eyes and see the souls of the beautiful babies that you worked so hard to save in the arms of our loving Lord.
With your permission I would like to put your comment on as a separate article.
