A Healing for America: Sweet Hour of Prayer

ProLifeCorner-  Frank J. Munda-   America needs a healing and she needs it now. I believe the next four years in America will be the most critical in all the history of this great nation. The forces of darkness and the forces of light are gathering. We who profess a belief in Christ are very much aware that the battle for the minds and souls of America is real, and it is a battle led on by principalities. And for those nonbelievers, the scoffers, the naysayers, please take a look at the signs of the times. Those on the left are believers as well, however they are invoking their god’s, by calling upon witches, all sorts of occult practices, curses, and calling upon the Prince of darkness himself, Satan and his minions. This in itself is proof that heaven and hell are real. Otherwise why would those on the left, who profess to be atheist, invoke Satan and the occult? Like it or not, believe it or not, this battle is real and it is unfolding before our very eyes.

The answer to all of our problems is prayer; our only hope is prayer. Without prayer this nation will be enslaved to sin and there will be no hope.

Over 2000 years ago Jesus Christ started with 12 not so strong men; in spite of their frailties, through their prayers and the power of the Holy Spirit, the church grew. Christianity today is over 1 billion strong. If we as  frail, sinful Christians get down upon our knees, repent, and pray for the healing of America, I know God will answer our petitions.

Our Lord and Savior died for us at 3 PM on Good Friday. All throughout Christianity this is a very special time for prayer. In some faith communities it is called the hour of mercy.  If offering special prayers at this hour of the day is not part of your practice, may I suggest you take up this worthy thought? Our Lord is always happy to hear from you no matter what time of day. If you find you can’t pray at this hour, then find one that is more suitable to your lifestyle. The real need here is for us to pray.

What can we ask for? Let us pray that the men and women in the House of Representatives and in the Senate put aside their political differences and work together for the greater good of the whole of America. Let us remember abortion is not health care!  Let us pray for an end to government promoted, taxpayer subsidized abortions. Let us pray that the over one half billion federal tax dollars spent on Planned Parenthood will be used for the legitimate healthcare of all who need medical assistance. Let us pray that one day we will be once again be one nation, under God, indivisible, with life and liberty and justice for all.

We also know that through recent news reports that some on the left are placing curses upon President Donald Trump, those near him and dear to him, and his staff. This is all the more reason for us to invoke the power of our Lord and Creator. We need to ask Him to send forth his Holy Spirit, and His Angels to protect those who are trying to lead America back to a decent God-fearing country once again.

Sweet hour of prayer

This morning I was thinking of the wonderful old song Sweet Hour of Prayer. It goes in part like this:

“Sweet Hour of Prayer!  That calls me from a world of care, And bids me at my Father’s throne make all my wants and wishes known. In seasons of distress and grief, my soul has often found relief, and oft escaped the tempter’s snare,  By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!”

Please- I’m asking each one of you to have “a sweet hour” of prayer for the restoration of our nation. It can be at 3 PM, the hour of mercy when our Lord gave his life for all of us, or at any hour of your choosing. Let us unify and pray unceasingly.

God bless America
