An Appeal For Direction From Bishop Finn

Rockford, Il – ( – 12-28-2012 – by James – The two headlines (on Dec. 27 2012) in a Catholic Newspaper, the National Catholic Reporter / web-site located in your diocese, declare a new inquisition is taking place in the Catholic Church. The National Catholic Reporter claims this new inquisition is driven by Pope Benedict and the Magisterium against defenseless nuns and theologians. Nuns and theologians  in some cases work against the teachings of the Catholic Church.

This National Catholic Reporter from your diocese is working with The Global Post, which is funded by the Ford Foundation (the Ford Foundation gave Catholics for Choice a $300,000 grant) to produce and promote a series of articles which have no other purpose than to harm the Church through a distortion of facts.

As you are well aware, the National Catholic Reporter has a long history of leading people astray.

We respectfully and humbly turn to you in the hope you will clarify if in fact the National Catholic Reporter has the right to identify itself and the dissenting teachings it promotes as Catholic in the Diocese of Kansas City.

Thank you for considering this request for a public statement so the faithful of the Church will know the truth.

Please consider respectfully contacting Most Reverend Robert Finn, DD about the status of the National Catholic Reporter in the Diocese of Kansas City.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church States:

886 “The individual bishops are the visible source and foundation of unity in their own particular Churches.”As such, they “exercise their pastoral office over the portion of the People of God assigned to them.”

888 Bishops, with priests as co-workers, have as their first task “to preach the Gospel of God to all men,” in keeping with the Lord’s command.

They are “heralds of faith, who draw new disciples to Christ; they are authentic teachers” of the apostolic faith “endowed with the authority of Christ.”

889 In order to preserve the Church in the purity of the faith handed on by the apostles, Christ who is the Truth willed to confer on her a share in his own infallibility. By a “supernatural sense of faith” the People of God, under the guidance of the Church’s living Magisterium, “unfailingly adheres to this faith.”

  1. If you follow the link to the Hans Kung article it will make you sick to read it.
The man hates the Pope and the Church with a demonic passion.

  2. If the Archdiocese of Detroit can go after Michael Voris for the use of the word Catholic on his website, how can +Bishop Finn not do the same to the reporter? At least Voris is advising adherence to the Magisterium and the doctrines of the Faith. The c… Reporter is a heretical, divisive rag not worthy of the title reporter, much less Catholic.

  3. We are all waiting for a very strong message from the Bishop and the church and the priests . The time for fluffy homilies is over. We are in a battle. The time has come to stand up very strong against this evil. St. Michael the Archangel protect us in this battle!
    EDITOR: We agree 100% !
