Dolan Has Taught Us A Few Important Things

Rockford, Il – (ProLifeCorner.com) – 5-28-2013 – by Rockford Pro-Life Initiative -  Cardinal Dolan Has Taught Us A Few Important Things In The Last Few Weeks. In the last few weeks Cardinal Dolan, through his spokesman Joseph Zwilling, has been doing a lot of teaching by word and deed.

His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan, has let the Church know pro-abortion New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is a Catholic in good standing. The world has also found out the Archdiocese of New York is paying for abortions and contraception for thousands of its employees.  The Cardinals spokesman has rather heartlessly described the abortions and contraception the Archdiocese provides as “services” and excused the Archdiocese paying the bills for these “services” because they write the checks “under protest.”  We have many lessons we can learn from these situations.  A few of these lessons are listed below:

Cardinal Dolan has taught us you can be a Catholic (Gov. Cuomo) who promotes the unlimited and legal killing of babies by abortion, a Catholic who uses their political power to promote homosexual marriage and you’re still a Catholic in good standing.

Cardinal Dolan has taught us it’s OK to pay for abortions and contraception if you have an excuse.

Cardinal Dolan has set a standard for every Catholic in America to participate in things like the HHS mandate as long as you say you object to doing it.

Cardinal Dolan has taught us that if employees of a Catholic institution demand that the Catholic Church pay to murder their babies – the Church can comply.

Cardinal Dolan has taught every enemy of the Church that Catholics will go along quietly and participate in contraception and abortion programs as long as we say we object to it.

Cardinal Dolan has made null and void Cardinal George’s statement concerning secular forces attacking the Church and our need to be brave,

I expected to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr in the public square.”  No need now to stand-up for any principles.  If Cardinal Dolan, the head of the Bishops Council can pay for abortions and tell us all we have to do is say we object to it, no Catholic need to take a risky stand to defend Christ or life.  Cardinal Dolan has taught us we can go along with the culture of death as long as we object to doing it.

Cardinal Dolan has taught the Supreme Court whose members may have seen these situations in the news and will be hearing the HHS mandate cases that it is really no big deal for the head of the USCCB to allow his Archdiocese to pay for abortions and contraception as long as he can publicly say he objects to it.

Cardinal Dolan has taught politicians, voters, the abortion industry, and the media that the Catholic Church will pay for abortions and contraception as long as we can say we object to it.

Cardinal Dolan has taught us that the abuse scandal in the Catholic Church is far from over.  While the tragedy of sexual abuse is being dealt with head on we now have been taught by Cardinal Dolan that a Catholic in good standing can support and make possible the murder of babies in the womb and an Archdiocese can even pay for these abortions.  The murder of babies in the womb is the ultimate child abuse.

His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan has taught us a lot in the last few weeks.

  1. Cardinal Dolan has also taught us that Sacrilege against the Body and Blood of our Lord is ok.
    and
He also has taught us that the mortal sin of SCANDAL is not important either.
    CCC 2284, 2285, 2286, 2287, & 2326.

And therefore he refuses to set the example and teach those obstinate in public mortal sin by enforcing Code of Canon Law 915 and 1399.

And he has taught us that it does not matter that Apostolic Constitution of the Church is ignored, such as “SACRAE DISCIPLINAE LEGES” – which states:
“Finally, the canonical laws by their very nature must be observed.”

Someone once posted that Cardinal Dolan might not be so buddy buddy with political heretics and schismatics and other politicians who promote abortion – if those in power allowed people to pull off the limbs and crush the heads of his brother Bishops.
What do you think? I’m not sure.

    • Well said Bill, I just don’t understand Cardinal Dolan but no matter how he caves in I will never give up loving our Catholic faith.

  2. Cardinal Dolan has also taught us based upon his actions and inactions – that ‘RELATIVISM’ is a good thing.

Relativism is the position that all points of view are equally valid, and that all truth is relative to the individual.
Conceptions of truth and moral values are not absolute but are relative to the persons or groups holding them.

  3. Now that our “leader” in the fight for religious liberty is paying for abortions his moral authority is gone, long gone.

I think we must turn to the Holy Spirit now and maybe that is how it should have been from the beginning.

  4. I hope Cardinal Dolan has some really good things to say to the babies his insurance plan paid to kill when he reaches eternity.

Is it just me or the next time I am asked to attend a religious freedom rally or write a politician about religious freedom the thought of Cardinal Dolan already paying for abortions will remind me not to waste my time.

EDITOR: Please don’t let what Cardinal Dolan is doing stop you from supporting those who want to let the world know we will not lay down and allow our religious freedoms to be trampled on by a minority of fools.

  5. No wonder no one takes Catholics seriously and why people consider us hypocrites. Our leadership has proven that lately and their failure to support basic Catholic teaching along with their support of others who do not follow it amazes me. It is hard to take the American Bishops seriously when they do things of this nature.

  6. No wonder the Catholics of faith are confused. Cardinal Dolan invites the abortion president to the Al Smith Dinner and has a great time joking with him. Now he puts on a show of militancy and at the same time pays his dioceses employees to murder of the killing of babies in the womb. What a disgrace!

  7. The important thing is Dolan knows how to guffaw like a demented hyena.
The press loves when he does that.

  8. Cardinal Dolan should carry a cross up 5th Avenue wearing sackcloth and ashes and repent of his nonsense….we ALL need to guard our salvation in fear and trembling, cardinals especially.

  9. What Cardinal Dolan has also taught us:

    1. Gay masses are are not only acceptable, they should be encouraged.
(He has openly endorsed the Jesuit-militant-gay-agenda NYC parish of St. Francis Xavier. This parish laughs in the face of Catholic dogma, brazenly flouts heresy and blasphemy, and yet thrives in Dolan’s diocese.)

    2. Defying the Pope (even publicly) is fine, especially when it concerns gay seminarians. (In 2005, following the release of a Papal document stating that gays must be barred from the seminary, then-Bishop Dolan appeared on CNN in reaction to the document, stating, “It’s not a no-gays policy.”)

    3. Spending Christmas Day Masses with a Cuomo and a heretical media priest is a good idea. (Dolan chose to spend Christmases 2010 & 2011 celebrating a televised Mass with Fr. Ed Beck of ABC News fame..a priest who is a friend of the gay agenda and encouraged singer Chelie Wright on air to “come out”. Governor Cuomo’s brother can be seen at both Masses processing down the aisle/reading from the pulpit.)

    4. God is anything you want him/her/it to be. (On Thanksgiving Day 2010, Dolan appeared on Fox News, stating “You can call God him, her, or whatever you want.”)

    5. Abortion should be rare. (In NY, in 2011, he said he wants abortion “to be rare”.)

    6. Come up with any flimsy excuse to avoid sticky situations. (Dolan flew to Seattle instead of Washington during the vote to legalize gay marriage in NY. Upon returning to NY with gay marriage as the law of the land, he actually apologized to the gays, worrying that he might have offended them!)

    7. The Church is NOT IN CRISIS! Upon Dolan’s election as USCCB President, he said he would follow in his predecessor’s footsteps, and exclaimed, “It’s not like – thanks be to God – we’re in crisis!”

The list goes on and on…

    • That this cardinal could sit next to a man who is destroying this country with illegal and corrupt politics, promoting same sex faux marriage, abortion etc. and laugh!! and joke with him was absolutely appalling. (plus provide helpful photo ops for the political campaign) I’ll never forget my sadness and shock. It was like seeing a priest or bishop yucking it up at a nazi cocktail party.
He is making a mockery of the Church and of the seriousness of sin. How did he rise above being a priest of bingo halls and Friday night fish fries?

  10. This is satanic. Dolan is a puppet of culture-of-death politicians. He is indirectly serving the Evil One. The most demonic part of the entire Dolan situation is that he doesn’t understand the scandal his actions are causing. He plods forward directionless and Christ-less, seeking the approval and praise of treacherous men. The listless ship that is the Archdiocese of New York (and the Catholic Church in America) has a boob at the helm.

I think all of us, who live in the archdiocese, know what to do with our money the next time the parish is collecting for the “bishop’s annual appeal”. Not a penny…not a red cent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Two more things Dolan has taught us…

Everywhere we go, we see people wearing team hats and we know they’re not really on the team. Just because Dolan wears the mitre, it doesn’t mean he’s on the team.

Dolan’s team logo is the jelly doughnut, of which he is so fond. He’s all sugary on the outside, chuck full of useless fat. Press him and you’ll find no substance, just be splattered with goo.

Dolan and jelly doughnuts are bad for your health, with all due apologies to the innocent jelly doughnut.

  12. Everyone is responsible for their own actions. Cardinal Dolan will have to answer for his sins one day as will everyone of us. Don’t let his “teachings” become an excuse to not stand up for what you know is right. Being a Cardinal doesn’t guarantee him a place in Heaven. By the way, Governor Cuomo is not the only “Catholic” who supports abortion. Don’t forget Vice-President Biden who had the audacity to represent the US at Pope Francis’s confirmation as Pope. These people have no morals.

  13. Cardinal Dolan has taught us that during these dangerous times, we must focus on Christ alone. We will encounter many False Prophets and their actions will cloud our thinking about Faith and the Church. We are followers of Jesus Christ, not of men. Let’s pray to the Holy Spirit for discernment and courage in these times. We are not alone. Abortion is evil. Anyone, no matter if they are laity or clergy, who supports it in any way, is an accessory to this evil. Christ is with us and He will see us through this. We must be faithful to Him.

  14. Catechism:

2497 By the very nature of their profession, journalists (one can include “bloggers” in such I would think) have an obligation to serve the truth and not offend against charity in disseminating information. They should strive to respect, with equal care, the nature of the facts and the limits of critical judgment concerning individuals. They should not stoop to defamation.

    Canon Law:

    Can. 212 §1.
§3. According to the knowledge, competence, and prestige which they possess, they have the right and even at times the duty to manifest to the sacred pastors their opinion on matters which pertain to the good of the Church and to make their opinion known to the rest of the Christian faithful, without prejudice to the integrity of faith and morals, with reverence toward their pastors, and attentive to common advantage and the dignity of persons.

    Note especially the last line.

    Please remove this blog entry.

  15. This blog has simply printed the absolute truth. Dolan is paying for abortions, he has admitted it.

When a Cardinal is paying to murder babies ALL good people must stand up and shout it from the rooftops.

A lot of people said be silent and don’t complain about the Bishops when they hid the child abusers. Thanks pro-life corner for NOT hiding the crimes of Cardinal Dolan who is not only abusing children but killing them by paying for abortions.

  16. Matthew 23:

Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying, “The scribes and the Pharisees have taken their seat on the chair of Moses. Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example. For they preach but they do not practice.”

  17. We have to stand true to our Catholic Faith even if leaders of the church don’t, its morals, teaching and the Bible remind the same even when us humans go against it. We must though voice the truth when we see our fellow Christians blatenty go against its teaching

  18. Some evils are cast out by prayer & fasting alone…abortion is such an evil! Let us pray for our priests & church leadership for satan has an evil army attacking us. He delights when we attack our bishops & priest. Let us attack the darkness by making holy hours for our religous leadership..keeping them in prayer so they can stand up for Truth & the Faith.

  19. I’m nor for abortion. But, I believe it should be up to the individual & their partner to decide about contraception. If they can’t afford to have multiple children is the Catholic church and their supporter going to support/raise these children? I don’t think so……so it is not fair to tell them they can’t have protection.

EDITOR: The Catholic Church is not telling people they cannot have “protection” that choice is theirs. (Unless of course, they are practicing Catholics, in which case they are not supposed to use artificial forms of birth control according to the laws of the Church) However, it is not fair to expect those who do not believe in artificial birth control to pay for it for others. Would you pay for my habit of cigarettes if I had such a habit? Or for alcohol? Or for illegal drugs? hardly think so. Planned Parenthood hands out birth control to kids in schools! BC is available for little or no charge now. This whole HHS mandate is nothing more than an attempt to destroy the Church. It is unfair and illegal and should be stopped.

  20. Cheryl, Contraception is a mortal sin, to promote it is a mortal sin, to approve others using it is a mortal sin.

Some may think that the spirit of the world’s so called common sense is the way to go but that is slapping God in the face by spitting on His life giving plan for married love. Contraception destroys spiritual and physical life.

Of course God in his infinite goodness has given us natural family planning that is 99% effective and treats all life with respect and love.

It is interesting that Christian couples who use contraception have a 50-60% divorce rate. Christian couples who use NFP have a 1-3% divorce rate.

God’s ways are the only way.
