Facts about the so called "bubble zone"
The truth revealed about the proposed Rockford death zone.
Here are the facts about the bubble zone.
1. We have asked the Rockford Police Department and the Rockford City Attorneys office if they have any information, covering the last decade, of any mothers entering the abortion facility complaining to them that they have been harassed or prevented from entering the abortion facility by a pro-life sidewalk counselor. They have not been able to give us any instances of even a complaint let alone an investigation by the police or any charges because someone felt threatened by a sidewalk counselor.
This bubble zone would take away the free speech rights of Rockford citizens who have done nothing wrong. These compassionate sidewalk counselors stand in all kinds of weather, take incredible abuse from the abortion facility to offer help to mothers in need. These sidewalk counselors save human lives.
2. One of the supposed intentions of this bubble zone is to provide safety for people near the Rockford abortion mill driveway. The laws are already in place that protect people at this driveway or on public sidewalks. In the last decade no pro-lifer has been charged with any kind of violation at this clinic driveway. One incident happened in the last year where a homeless man was allegedly hit by an abortion clinic worker as she entered the mill. The city attorneys office looked at this case and said nothing happened. Case closed.
No mothers have ever been stopped from entering the abortion mill by pro-lifers at this driveway. The clinic has at least four video cameras trained on the driveway. If anyone attempted to stop someone from entering the driveway the tape would be turned over to the police and that person would be arrested. In over the decade that I have prayed at the clinic, I have never heard of or seen a pro-lifer ever being charged with blocking the driveway. Not one.
3. It was claimed by alderman Eleya at the city council committee meeting that the police department has received 128 calls for service and 64 complaints filed at the clinic address. What she didn't report was most of these calls and complaints have come from pro-lifers dealing with harassment and even physical threats from the clinic owner and their supporters.
Many of the other calls, on a weekly basis, have come from an abortion supporter who has been caught on video http://www.prolifecorner.com/taxonomy/term/6
calling African Americans and pro-lifers some of the most vicious names in the book. On this video he speaks of how the smell of burning baby bodies coming from the clinic causes him sexual arousal. This man has filed dozens of complaints because he doesn't like Christians or pro-lifers! Yet city officials have allowed this man to continue his hostility towards peacefully assembled citizens and his hate speech to go unchecked.
Does the city of Rockford really want to pass an unneeded bubble zone just to keep this man happy?
4. Alderman Elyea also claimed at the meeting that a bubble zone might cut down on noise in the neighborhood. If sidewalk counselors are forced by law to stand at a distance from cars entering the parking lot they will have to raise their voices even more to offer help to mothers in need.
A bubble zone will only increase the noise and problems at the killing center.
The abortion facility uses an amplified sound system to intimidate pro-lifers with vulgar language and blaring music. This is the source of the loudest noise in the neighborhood. The bubble zone would have no effect on this. The city has allowed this to go on for over twenty years!
5. This bubble zone, if passed, would result in years of costly lawsuits in federal court because our team of lawyers from the Thomas More Society believe it is a clear violation of our civil rights and the constitution.
It will also result in years and years of the city of Rockford prosecuting many of the Christian grandmothers, grandfathers, fathers, and mothers who sidewalk counsel at this clinic. Does the city really want to tie up the court system putting tax paying Rockford residents in jail for offering help to mothers and children in need?
6. Alderman Ann Thompson was quoted in the Rockford Register Star saying that the number of calls to the police department at this clinic is alarming.
A bubble zone would in no way, shape or form solve these problems. It will only make them worse.
Most of the calls to the police have been because we are dealing with a clinic that has an attitude toward the people of Rockford reflected by the rubber chickens in it's windows that offend many African Americans, the posted personal medical history of Rockford residents in it's windows, signs saying people with the HIV virus will "rot", a sign that threatened the life of a local woman, and countless pictures mocking God and Christians. Click here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6TM_RhTnCQ&feature=player_embedded for some examples.
In the end we are dealing with a clinic that put up a sign celebrating the deaths of the 50,000 boys and girls who have died inside of it's walls as it's victory over Jesus Christ. A bubble zone will only mean misery for countless mothers who will not receive the offers of love and support they have a right to - and it will add untold numbers to the already staggering body count of the Rockford abortion mill.
Because pro-life sidewalk counselors have been successful in saving the lives of many babies, the abortion mill has lost many thousands of dollars. At a cost of $600 to $900 per abortion, and with an average of two babies saved per week, having counselors available to help women truly make a choice is costing the abortion mill big money.
Let’s do the abortion math.
With a conservative estimate of two babies being saved at the Rockford killing center per week and an average cost of an abortion at a mean average of $750.00 that means the abortion mill has lost $78,000.00 per year. Now, dear reader, you can understand why this immoral bubble law is being shoved down our throats.
Wait, there’s more! That’s 104 babies who have been saved to fulfill God’s plan for them. That’s 104 mothers who, instead of crying at night knowing that they were the instrument of death for their babies, will rejoice that they brought their babies into the world alive. In addition to the mothers who will be rejoicing in their decision to keep their baby and not abort him/her, there will be endless numbers of fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, cousins, friends, etc. who will rejoice also because a baby was allowed to live and be part of their lives.
There’s even more benefit to saving a baby’s life; that is a tremendous financial burden will be lifted from the health care system later on. Because a woman who did not abort her baby will not have the highly increased risk of breast cancer that abortion has proved to be. She will not be experiencing post abortion syndrome and be suicidal because she aborted her baby. She will avoid the documented dangers to herself that result from abortion; that is possible sterility, perforated uterus, infections, drug use, alcohol abuse and depression. There are many good reasons to bring a baby to full term and exercise true choice. That is to raise the baby herself or put the baby up for adoption in a loving home.
Pro-choice is a lie. The clinic should be praising the sidewalk counselors for doing the job that they should be doing, that is, offering help, hope and giving all the choices to the women in a crisis pregnancy. Instead, they offer only insults and attacks to the counselors and the only choice they are giving the mother is to come in with a live baby and to leave a dead one behind.
I live in the 11th ward.
Mon, 02/01/2010 - 9:40am — Fran (not verified)I live in the 11th ward. When Karen Elyea ran for office she said she was going to work on getting business going.
All she has done is promote the abortion business that has a huge sign in it's window calling the people of our neighborhood perverts.
I want to know when she is up for election again so I can tell my neighbors her real motive.
Maybe it's me but I thought
Mon, 02/01/2010 - 9:53am — Ed from Rockford (not verified)Maybe it's me but I thought the city had better things to do than tie themselves up for years in court with lawsuits because they want to strip away the free speech rights of Christians.
If this law passes every Christian in the city should go to this clinic and break this law so when the city loses it's shirt in the lawsuits that follow we can all donate the money to a local prolife cause.
The sidewalk counselors
Mon, 02/01/2010 - 11:45am — Sharon (not verified)The sidewalk counselors better be careful. Now that the public knows no person entering the mill has filed a complaint this evil killing center might try to stage something. Have your cameras and witness ready. If you can catch them faking an incident that might be enough for them to lose their license. Always be ready
Editor's Note: Sounds like good advice! Have those pro-life cameras running at ALL times! Remember, Webster has 14 to 16 cameras pointed at pro-lifers all the time.
Based on the city council
Tue, 02/02/2010 - 4:30pm — Sandi White (not verified)Based on the city council meeting on monday night the bubble zone should be dead. When that young mother held up the baby that was saved on the sidewalk in front of the death house known as NIWC it became clear to all how totally evil that place is and that the bubble zone would result in the murder of more babies.
Editor's Note: We pray you're right! God bless that brave young woman and her baby.
