The 2007 Stephenson County Fair is over and Stephenson County Right to Life was there .... once again handing out pro-life educational material all week long. This was our 21st year of speaking out for the unborn and the infirm and elderly. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our wonderful volunteers who so generously gave of their time and talents to help this year’s fair event be as successful as previous years. Well done to all!
Our theme was “Other Weapons of Mass Destruction” and we cited the number of abortions in the USA done by surgical means and chemical means. Many of our fairgoers did not realize that babies are being aborted by chemical means other than saline, RU 486, and the morning after pill. Everyone is aware of the 4000 babies that die from surgical abortion every day. The shocker is that every day over 38,000 babies die due to the so-called birth control pill. The birth control pill comes in many forms.
Progestins and the estrogen in the pill are artificial hormones designed to help a woman's body believe that it is pregnant month after month. All the vital organs in her body are affected by the constant use of this pill. It contains powerful steroids that constantly remain present in her body. The pill's artificial hormones suppress the woman's production of normal progesterone and estrogen.
It is said that statistically a woman using “the pill” will experience at least one abortion per year without her even being aware of it. It is estimated that 14,000,000 women are using “the pill” with the end results being 14,000,000 pill related abortions per year in the USA alone. Here are some of the other side effects of the pill:
If you are not using the pill, don't start. If you are on the pill now, take out the patient package insert that should be with the pills and read it.
Here are some of the side effects:
• Bacterial infections (because the pill weakens the immune system.)
• more susceptible to the AIDS virus (HIV) because the pill weakens the immune system
• pelvic inflammatory disease-an infection of the fallopian tubes that can cause sickness or sterility
• infertility-unable to ever bear children
• cervical cancer
• ectopic pregnancy
• shrinking of the womb (endometrial atrophy)
• mood swings and depression
• breast cancer
• blood clots
• birth defects in children conceived while women are on the pill
• tender breasts
• stroke
• weight gain
The pill also offers no protection against sexually transmitted diseases including AIDS.

This year, in addition to all the fine pro-life brochures that we give away, we produced our own brochure entitled “Do You Have the Courage to See The Truth About Abortion?” The brochure challenged the reader to go to some websites that actually show an abortion so they can see for themselves what an abortion really is. Some links were provided. The brochure states in part: Please have the courage to go to one of these sites today. Then, when you are convinced that this is the most hideous, inhumane, and barbaric procedure that you have ever seen, do something about it: First, join a pro-life group to better inform yourself on life issues. Then call or write your representatives or senators (federal and state) and demand an end to this terrible holocaust of the unborn. Would you tolerate the tearing and ripping apart of a dog or cat or any other animal for scientific experimentation or as a means of terminating its life? Of course you would not! Then why do we tolerate such procedures for human life. This holocaust has taken the lives of 600,000,000 babies in the USA alone since the decriminalization of surgical abortions in 1973 and the introduction of many of the so-called birth control pills, the majority of which are abortafacients.”

The brochure further states: “Are we any better than Hitler? Hitler killed 12,000,000 innocent victims in his death camps over 65 years ago, and no one has forgotten-and rightly so! What’s different about the holocaust of the unborn? How come people are indifferent? It’s because Hitler’s killing was brought out into the light, thereby exposing his crimes against humanity. The media and many in our government not only allow, but encourage the killing to go on in silence and darkness. The killing must stop.
