ROCKFORD LIFE REPORT 5 13 08

26 Babies die this past wk Rockford Il ; CAUGHT ON VIDEO: Wisconsin U Student Senator Vandalizing Pro-Life Display of Crosses ; Pope to Pro-Lifers: ; Planned Parenthood of Ohio Defends Acceptance of Racist Abortion Donation ; Babies From Abortions, Records Found in Second Michigan Center Dumpster ; Smashing Defeat for Pro-Abortion Forces in Brazil ; Is It Voodoo Or Is It Blasphemy In Rockford, IL?

On Friday May 9, an estimated 14 mothers aborted their sons or daughters at Rockford's abortion mill.

On Friday the abortion clinic owner was using his public address system to use God's name in vain and ridicule pro-lifers using threats and profanity. He told one pro-lifer that he was going to make sure "you lose them all," meaning he was going to make sure pro-lifers can't offer help to even one mother going in the clinic. The clinic owner has been sitting right by the entrance to the parking lot in his snow-plow truck and when pro-lifers offer help to mothers, he uses a cord less microphone to make noise and puts his snow-plow in reverse causing a loud beeping sound that drowns out offers of help and support.

We can be extremely proud of our pro-life Christians who pray and counsel at the abortion mill. They have responded in Christian courage, faith, and charity. Not once during the abortion mill's staff's recent attempts to intimidate them has a pro-lifer resorted to the name-calling or the angry tactics of those associated with the abortion clinic.

What we have here in Rockford is nothing less than a life and death battle taking place. It is a spiritual life and death battle between an anti-Christian abortion clinic and the followers of Jesus Christ, with the souls of many hanging in the balance. And it is a life and death battle that is resulting in the death of 25-40 children every week in our city.

Please, keep our local pro-life community, the mothers and fathers, and the clinic staff in your daily prayers. And if you feel called by Christ - please join us in prayer at Calvary in Rockford.

On Tuesday May 13, an estimated 12 children were aborted in Rockford.

CAUGHT ON VIDEO: Wisconsin U Student Senator Vandalizing Pro-Life Display of Crosses

ARLINGTON, VA, May 7, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - On Thursday, May 1, 2008, a peaceful Cemetery of the Innocents display at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point (UWSP) was vandalized by a Student Senator, Roderick King.

After having their display vandalized on the night of April 30th, several members from the UWSP pro-life group, Pointers for Life, were repairing the display around 11am on the morning of May 1st when a group of angry students, lead by UWSP Student Senator Roderick King, began to walk though the rows, taking crosses from the ground and throwing them.

King began to voice his complaints and said that Pointers for Life had "no right" to display the crosses, and that it was "his duty as a paying student" to take them down.

When the campus Protective Services officer arrived, most of the students stopped vandalizing the display; however, Senator King did not stop. He claimed, "The freedom of speech does not cover these signs and symbols!" Only after the Protective Services officer threatened to make him pay for damages did Senator King stop.

Bob Tomlinson, Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, apologized to Pointers for Life for the disrespect and vandalism by the students. Student Senators Katie Kloth and Erica Wardle came to the display and clearly defined the university's policies, asserting that Pointers for Life had correctly reserved the space and were allowed to host the display.

That night, Pointers for Life submitted a complaint to the Student Government Association (SGA) and asked for Senator King to resign or be disciplined appropriately under the student government Constitution. However, the student government has yet to force Senator King to resign.

Jackie Kryzkowski, the Pointers for Life President, said, "Student Senators should be helping to defend our freedom of speech, not trying to take it away because of personal beliefs. If students had a proble m with the display, they could exercise their freedom of speech maturely by protesting it peacefully, not by defacing our display."

Ryan Wrasse, another member of the group pointed out: "As we filed our official complaint with the UWSP Student Government Association, we also issued a strong ultimatum: The SGA could either vote to retain Senator King and condone this type of behavior, or remove him from Senate and send a clear message to UWSP students and faculty that this type of behavior will not be tolerated."

Kristan Hawkins, Executive Director of Students for Life of America, remarked: "This event shows that our country is not immune to the situation going on in Canada right now, where campus pro-life groups are being singled out and excluded from the guaranteed freedom of speech and expression on college campuses. This is not the first time that a student group has had this same type of peaceful display vandalized or has faced discrimination on a college campus. SFLA i s here to make sure all college pro-lifers are guaranteed their rights to demonstrate on behalf of those who have no voice."

Students for Life suggests that citizens take action on the matter and call the University of Wisconsin -Stevens Point Chancellor of Student Affairs, Linda Bunnell, at 715-346-2123 or email her at lbunnell@uwst.edu "to let her know you want the school to remove Roderick King from the Student Senate for vandalizing a legal, peaceful display."

Pope to Pro-Lifers: "How many human lives have you saved from death! . . . do not be afraid""Respect For Life Is The First Form Of Justice That Must Be Applied"
By John-Henry Westen

VATICAN CITY, May 12, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Speaking to the Italian Movement for Life organization this morning, Pope Benedict XVI encouraged the pro-life movement in their work. Thanking them for their service to "the Church and society", the Holy Father said, "How many human lives have you saved from death! Continue along this path and do not be afraid, so that the smile of life may triumph on the lips of all children and their mothers".

The Pope told the gathered pro-life activists that he recognized that "in practical terms, defending human life has become more difficult today, because a mentality has been created that progressively devalues human life and entrusts it to the judgment of individuals." He added, "A consequence deriving there from is lessened respect for the human person, a value that lies at the foundation of any form of civil coexistence, over and above the faith a person may profess".

"Respect for life is the first form of justice that must be applied,"

Planned Parenthood of Ohio Defends Acceptance of Racist Abortion Donation

Columbus, OH (LifeNews.com) -- Officials with Planned Parenthood in Ohio are finally responding to allegations a UCLA student newspaper made in February that they gladly accepted donations from a caller who said he wanted it used for racist purposes. The Advocate magazine called Planned Parenthood centers in several states. The pro-life publication told LifeNews.com at the time that an actor posing as a racist donor called Planned Parenthood and asked that his donation be used to abort African American babies in order to "lower the number of black people." The magazine said an Ohio Planned Parenthood representative, Lisa Hutton, told the donor that Planned Parenthood "will accept the money for whatever reason." The abortion business has never responded, but Stephanie Tresso, a spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood in Columbus , talk ed with the Associated Press about the calls on Saturday. She did not dispute that the Planned Parenthood staffer accepted the donation. However, Tresso said the calls were a sham to discredit the pro-abortion group and she claimed the audio of the call posted on the Internet was edited. Tresso says pro-life advocates left out part of the staffer's comments saying the money would be used for black women in need.

Babies From Abortions, Records Found in Second Michigan Center Dumpster

Livonia, MI (LifeNews.com) -- Local pro-life advocates in the Detroit area have found the bodies of babies killed in abortions and patient medical records in another Michigan abortion center's dumpster. The finding comes on the heels of one abortion facility that ran afoul of illegal dumping laws and was investigated by the state. This time, members of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society found the bodies, biohazard waste and medical records at the Women's Advisory abortion business in Livonia. A representative of the group, Monica Miller, told LifeNews.com her organization found the remains of six aborted babies 16 to 20 weeks gestational age. The Women's Advisory abortion center is owned by Reginald Sharpe and the finding comes after Miller's group found bodies, records and medical waste in dumpsters behind a Lathrup Village-based Woman care abortion center owned by Albert Hodari. "Extensive bio-hazard waste and patient records were discovered there (in some ways worse than Hodari's dumpsters) as well as in the trash container behind Sharpe's other abortion clinic located on Warren Avenue in Detroit," Miller told LifeNews.com. Miller said members of her group first spotted the illegal dumping in late March and made repeated searches throughout April. She informed the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality of the violations and said the state agency conducted its own investigation of the Women's Advisory dumpster on April 30. "All Reginald Sharpe has received is a warning. No fines, no penalties. It's Hodari all over again," she said.

Smashing Defeat for Pro-Abortion Forces in Brazil

Legislative committee defeats abortion decriminalization in unanimous vote
BRASILIA, May 8, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In a stunning victory for the pro-life movement in Latin America, the Social Security and Family Committee of Brazil's Chamber of Deputies (the lower legislative house) unanimously rejected an abortion decriminalization law that pro-abortion forces have fought for since 1991.
The two pro-abortion deputies on the committee left in protest without voting, leaving the remaining deputies to reject the legislation 33-0.
The committee members embraced each other in tears while pro-abortion forces in the audience yelled epithets at them and against the Catholic Church, which this year initiated an intense campaign to protect the right to life.
The campaign, along with major efforts by Evangelical Protestants, has resulted in a dramatic increase in pro-life sentiment in Brazil. A recent poll found that 68% of Brazilians now oppose further decriminalization of abortion, up from 63% last year.
The legislation, which is known as Bill 1135/91, will next be considered by the Chamber of Deputies' Constitution and Justice Committee, which is also expected to reject it. The text eliminates criminal penalties for abortion. Other bills to decriminalize abortion are also making their way through the National Congress.
The vote represented a smashing defeat for pro-abortion forces in Brazil, and in particular for President Luiz Lula's Minister of Health, José Gomes Temporão. Temporão has sought to divert attention from the issue of the human rights of the fetus by recasting the debate as an issue of "public health" due to the dangers he alleges are associated with illegal abortions.
Apparently sensing his inevitable defeat, Temporão did not testify before the committee and instead sent representatives. He used diplomatic language to denounce the ruling, claiming that the current legal approach to abortion was unrealistic and would result in "failure".
