On Friday June 20, a dozen children were aborted today in Rockford.  We had many examples of the evil that takes place in the heart of our city.

Rockford Police ignore pleas for help .

 1400 Broadway  Rockfors Il.

           The first incident

At about 7:30 am a car with a Wisconsin license plate pulled into the parking lot. The girl in the passenger seat looked no more than 14 years old and was extremely upset. The older woman driving her looked nothing like the young girl (so we assumed she might not be her mother.)

A police officer was parked across the street from the mill so we asked the officer to check on the situation. We told him many of us saw a car from out of state pull in with a girl definitely under age and a woman driving who did not look like her mother. We simply asked the officer to go into the abortion clinic and check to see if the woman was her mother and if the young girl was in distress. The officer said he would have to check downtown. He made a call and then told us their was nothing he could do and remained in his car.

We would like to offer this analogy :Imagine that you were sitting in a McDonald's in Rockford, IL and you saw a vehicle pull in with an out of state license plate.  A woman and a child get out of the car and come into the restaurant and the child (a girl approximately 12 to 14 years of age) is clearly distraught.  The girl looks nothing like the adult woman and you suspect that the adult is not the mother or even possibly the proper guardian.  You are concerned that this could be a possible kidnapping or some other diabolical activity unfolding before your eyes.  You look out the window and see a police officer sitting in his squad car.  You approach the officer and simply ask "Will you go into the restaurant and check to see if the woman was the girl's mother and if the young girl was in any distress?"  If the officer would respond by saying "I will have to check downtown first", do you think that would be a proper response from an on-duty policeman under these circumstances?  When the officer made the call would you accept him saying "There is nothing I can do" and remain in his vehicle?  I believe any officer in any respectable community would check this out for the safety of the child and especially because of the out of state plates.

From an outsider looking in, you cannot help but think the police are apathetic at the very least.  Or some within the department might even have strong opinions opposite of the pro-life community.  We want to hold the Rockford Police Department and city officials in a high position of respect but at the moment it is difficult to do so.  We’re hoping that in the future they will help change our perspective by protecting all citizens of Rockford.  In the meantime, here is how it appears to us.

It seems like the Rockford police department is giving the abortion supporters carte blanche.  It is as if the quarter block of 1400 Broadway has been declared a no-man's zone; a decency free zone; a place where bigots and racists can ply their trade with impunity.

The second incident took place at about 8:30 am. A large truck came flying into the parking lot, and a young man came running out. We asked if we could help, and he yelled out, "I'm here to get my wife out."  After he was in the mill a short time, he came out in tears. He came to us for help. He said his wife is here for an abortion, and he doesn't want her to do it.  But when he tried to talk with her, the abortion clinic staff (so much for "choice") told him he couldn't talk to her, and if he didn't leave immediately, they would call the police and have him arrested.  The sidewalk counselors, foolishly believing that a man has a right to talk with his wife, took him immediately over to the squad car that was still parked across the street and the officer who saw the whole thing. We told the officer the situation and simply asked him if he would escort the young man into the clinic so he could talk with his wife for a few moments. The officer said he had to call downtown. After a couple of minutes the officer told us he could not help in any way and continued to sit in his squad car. It really was a heartbreaking morning to see how helpless we are in the face of such evil.
But  you know as well as we do, in the end, the victory of Jesus Christ and His cross will bring justice and mercy to all mankind.

Please keep praying for an end to this evil that is destroying lives, souls, and families. On Tuesday June 24 an estimated 15 babies were aborted in Rockford.

We had one chance to help a mother and child when they stopped in the driveway to talk with the sidewalk counselors. Sadly, the abortion clinic owner got on his amplified sound system again and threatened the scared and nervous mother with arrest if she didn't immediately pull into the abortion mill.  The loud booming sound of the speakers and the threat of arrest scared the poor young mother into doing something she might not have done if she was given a few more minutes to hear of all the help, love, and resources the Christian community has to offer for mothers in need.

Abortionist at Tiller Clinic Stabbed Baby Born Alive: Eye-Witness

Wichita, KS, June 24, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A murder investigation has been opened involving Shelley Sella, a California abortionist employed by George Tiller, who is reported to have intentionally stabbed to death an infant born alive during an abortion at Tiller's Women's Health Care Services abortion clinic in Wichita, Kansas.

On the advice of an attorney, Operation Rescue reported the incident to the Wichita Police Department after a former Tiller employee, Tina Davis, told Troy Newman and Cheryl Sullenger of the stabbing in April. It is believed that the alleged infanticide took place sometime in the past two years.

In addition, the incident has been reported to the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts, which has confirmed that the case has been assigned to an investigator.

Ms. Davis is a Licensed Practical Nurse, and was the only licensed medical person in Tiller's employment at that time, except for his three out-of-state abortionists, who work at WHCS on a three-week rotating schedule.

Abortionist Shelley Sella is a "circuit rider", who splits her time between Tiller's Wichita clinic, a California Planned Parenthood clinic, and other, smaller abortion mills.

"Ms. Davis gave us a very specific eye-witness account about the incident," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "We were told that the baby was 35 weeks gestation at the time of the abortion. The baby came out and was moving. Sella looked up at Ms. Davis, then picked up a utensil and stabbed the baby in the left ribcage, twisting the utensil until the baby quit moving. At 35 weeks, there is no doubt about viability. This is murder in anybody's book."

Ms. Davis could not explain why the baby was born alive since abortions that late in the pregnancy usually begin with a fatal injection into the baby's heart. However, former abortion patients have said that sometimes the first injection is not always successful.

In fact, Sella was involved in the abortion of Michelle Armesto-Berge, who testified before a Kansas legislative committee last September of her horrific late-term abortion experience at WHCS. According to her medical records, Armesto-Berge received the digoxin injection at the beginning of her abortion process, and was forced to receive a second injection by Sella when it was discovered that her baby was still alive the following day.

"The digoxin injection into the baby's heart is a difficult and risky procedure," said Newman. "Sella doesn't appear to be very good at it."

Ms. Davis also told Operation Rescue that on four occasions of which she was aware, women received the digoxin injection into their babies' hearts, and were sent home to their primary physician for "delivery of the stillborn."

"This practice has extreme risks, because the women, who come from all over the Western Hemisphere, could go into labor or experience a number of other dangerous complications before they are able to get to their own doctors," said Newman. "It is shocking that this is allowed."

"We understand there are unique challenges to getting charges filed in this case since the body would have been cremated at Tiller's on-site crematorium. Without a body, any murder case becomes more difficult," said Newman. "However, because of the brutality of this murder and the gravity of this charge, we are compelled to demand that Tiller's clinic be closed by the State until a full inspection and investigation can take place, and that the medical licenses of Sella and her boss, Tiller, be immediately suspended."

"We also understand that because Ms. Davis' employment at WHCS was terminated, that damages her credibility," Newman continued. "But we have every reason to believe that the story she told us was true. We have been able to confirm many of the other things she told us. Ms. Davis came forward because she was troubled by what went on at the abortion clinic, and was seeking peace. We pray she finds it. "

In March, 2008, Students for Life in America released an undercover video where Tiller told them that if a baby is born alive during an abortion, "It's just sloppy technique. It is just technique that is reprehensible." He added, "The guy that did that ought to have his head beat up."

"Hellish Abortion Operation:" KY Abortionist's License Suspended, Clinic Closed

June 20th, 2008

Lexington, KY - Abortionist Hamid Sheikh has had his medical license suspended and his Lexington, Kentucky, abortion mill closed after the state's medical board revealed evidence of fraud, filthy conditions, and illegal abortions that led one reporter to describe Sheikh's clinic as a "hellish abortion operation."

Sheikh as been indicted for defrauding Medicaid out of thousands of dollars. He is also accused of maintaining unsanitary conditions, including dirty hospital gowns and surgical equipment. An investigation revealed out of date medications and biohazard waste that had not been picked up for twelve weeks.

Women have come forward saying Sheikh did not use pain medications and that abortions he committed on them were excruciatingly painful. One teenager reported that she was told to "shut up" because her screams would disturb the other patients.

"The horrific conditions discovered at Sheikh's mill are not the exception; they are what we have come to expect from America's failing abortion industry," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.

In recent years, numerous abortion mills have closed after abortionists have been discovered to have botched abortions, provided unsanitary and unsafe conditions, and committed fraud. The number of abortion clinics has been steadily decreasing, along with the number of abortionists.

"Doctors that are concerned about helping and healing people do not go into the abortion business. Therefore, what the abortion industry is left with is the bottom of the barrel. When abortion mills are inspected and laws are enforced, we can expect to see pulled licenses and closed clinics. Unfortunately, abortion mills are all too often given a free pass, but even that is beginning to change as the public becomes more aware of incidents like this," said Newman.

"We are thankful that Sheikh has been caught and will now be held accountable for the human suffering that he has caused."

Top Pro-Abortion Activist Meets With Barack Obama's Campaign Manager
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Underscoring the close relationship presidential candidate Barack Obama will have with abortion activists if he's elected, his top campaign manager met with one of the key leaders of the pro-abortion movement. Ellen Malcolm, founder of Emily's List, met with campaign manager David Plouffe. The meeting took place at the Obama campaign headquarters in Chicago on Tuesday. While there is no transcript and not much in the way of news about the content of the discussions, it appears Obama and the pro-abortion group are on the same page. Malcolm would only tell CNN that the meeting, which took longer than an hour, was "great." Emily's List Executive Director Ellen Moran and Obama's deputy campaign ma nager Steve Hildebrand were also present for the powwow. The meeting is important given the tension between Malcolm and the Obama campaign as Emily's List supported Hillary Clinton during the Democratic primary.

Britain Could See Highest Abortion Total in 40 Years When New Data Released
London, England (LifeNews.com) -- When the British government releases its next set of national abortion figures, the numbers, which will cover 2007, are expected to be higher than in 2006, which saw an increase. The statistics will likely show another year of more than 200,000 abortions despite heavy spending on promoting contraception. The figures will also come after the British Parliament voted against more limits on late-term abortions and unlimited abortions will flourish further when MPs vote to remove the two-doctor requirement for an abortion. The data is leading pro-life advocates to say the U.K. is quickly becoming the abortion capital of Europe. "We are horrified at what the figures are at the moment," Ian Lucas, director of the Pass ion 4 Life campaign, told the London Telegraph. "It looks likely that they will show another increase which will be another record high," he added. "If there is any more liberalization of the law it is likely the numbers will go up again, which would be a complete tragedy." There were 201,173 abortions in England and Wales during 2006, according to the British Health Department, an increase of four percent over 2005. With preliminary figures from the first nine months of 2007 showing 500 more abortions than in 2006, the number continues to rise.

Ecuadorian Obstetricians and Gynecologists Issue Thundering Manifesto Against Abortion

GUAYAQUIL, ECUADOR, June 17, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - At a recent meeting held to discuss abortion, Ecuadorian obstetricians and gynecologists issued a declaration denouncing abortion as "not only an illegal act, but a criminal one" and stating that "under no circumstances should abortion be decriminalized" (see full English translation at http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2008/jun/08061714.html).

The Ecuadorian Federation of Societies of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FESGO), made the statement at a "workshop" on the subject of abortion held in Guayaquil, Ecuador.  The document begins by stating that "we are not in agreement with any form of induced abortion; life is inviolable from the moment of conception.  The elimination of an innocent human being is always unacceptable, ethically and medically speaking."

"We are against induced abortion because it is not only an illegal act, but a criminal one...Under no circumstances should abortion be decriminalized in Ecuador," the document continues.  "To the contrary, policies and strategies must be established to strengthen moral values and defend the basic principles of universal bioethics."

The memebers of the Federation note that the humanity of the embryo is not a matter of religion, but of medical science.

"Science teaches that human life begins at conception," the declaration states.  "If it is also true that it is affirmed by religion, it does not for that reason cease to be a strictly scientific truth, to be transformed into a religious opinion.  He who denies that human life begins with conception does not need to contend with religion, but science.  To deny this certainty of biology is not to express a lack of faith, but a lack of basic knowledge of human genetics, something that is even known by the general public."

The declaration also corrects a common misconception about the fetus: that it is a "part" of the mother, rather than a distinct human life.  "To affirm that the woman can do with her body whatever she wishes, besides being a conceited claim, has absolutely no basis in science: the embryo is not part of the body of the mother, nor is the fetus an internal organ of her body: the DNA of the embryo is distinct from that of its parents," the doctors write.

The phsyicians of the Federation are making their stand during a contentious debate over Ecuador's new constitution, which is currently being rewritten by a special Constitutent Assembly.  According to Human Life International (HLI), language that could open the door to the decriminalization or legalization of abortion in Ecuador has been inserted into the current draft.

Magaly Llaguno, director of Human Life International's Hispanic Division, Vida Humana Internacional, told LifeSiteNews that FESGO's stand showed "courage" in defying the international medical establishment, which tends to ally itself with powerful and well-funded pro-abortion organizations.

"The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) declared in its 'Ethical Guidelines regarding abortion for non-medical reasons': 'A woman [has]the right to have access to medical or surgical induced abortion and that the health care services [have]an obligation to provide such services as safely as possible,'" noted Llaguno . "Yet the OB GYNs of Ecuador had the courage to oppose FIGO's anti-life stand, by publicly expressing their opposition to the killing of the unborn."

"Praise God for courageous doctors who don't follow deadly mandates from international counterparts," she added.
