Thoughts for the DayAbortion and euthanasia are commonplace because too many have done too little for too long. Nothing complicated, we've simply allowed the evil influences to inundate us and we do nothing. We shop at places that don't promote our values. We allow our pro-abortion officials to remain in office and, in fact, may have voted for them, voting for our pocketbook instead of voting for what is right. Upcoming events

Rockford Life Report July 15 2008 24 babies are killed at 1400 Broadway Rockford Il. 5 Mothers choose life ; FACE THE TRUTH ROCKFORD 2008 ; Do YOU HAVE THE COURAGE TO SEE THE TRUTH OF WHAT HAPPENS TO BABIES AT 1400 BROADWAY ; Obama So Extreme on Abortion He Would Let Babies Die Who Survive Them ; New Book Exposes Eugenics Mandate ; McDonalds Strikes Back at Family Boycott ; British Woman Has Seven Abortions, No Regret Despite Suicide Attempt ; Prominent North American Rabbi Condemns Award to Abortionist ; Successful AIDS Prevention Programme in Uganda "Sabotaged" by Western "Experts" On Friday July 11, an estimated 15 babies were aborted in Rockford. In one of the cases a mother and grandmother were talking for about ten minutes in the parking lot. The sidewalk counselors kept offering help and encouragement. Finally, the grandmother turned to the pro-lifers and said, "How do we know you will really help us?" The pro-lifers begged them to just give us a chance. So mom and grandmom drove out (with smiles) and took the phone number of a sidewalk counselor and a few small baby gifts they had prepared. Two of the other mothers who choose life this morning also were given the phone numbers of our sidewalk counselors and assurances of help. The other mothers were not financially or materially in need but were just glad there were people there who cared about them and their unborn babies. We learned a great deal today. Recently, efforts at prayer and public pro-life witness have increased with the result being, through the grace of Jesus Christ, that five mothers were strengthened to love the children God had given them. Please keep praying and working for an end to the culture of death and a greater love for all of God's children. On Tuesday July 15, an estimated nine children were aborted in Rockford. Thankfully the number of abortions was low today but it was still nine to many for a decent society to accept. One car entering the mill had three laughing teenagers get out and another car had a cross hanging from the rear view mirror. We as a Christian community have a lot of prayer, sacrifice, and work to do to build a culture of life in our city. __________________________________________________________________________ FACE THE TRUTH ROCKFORD 2008 9:00-10:30 Riverside and Forest Hills 11:30-1:00 East State Street and Alpine 1:15-2:30 Lunch at Old Country Buffet ($8.00 per person) 3:00-4:30 East State Street and Perryville Road Why graphic abortion pictures? Because pictures Expose Lies. Photographs and films of human beings stacked like cordwood outside Nazi concentration camps exposed the murderous truth of Nazi genocide. Disturbing as these images are, we all recognize the value of squarely facing the truth of the Holocaust. Similarly, our pictures of aborted children lay bare the blatant lies and hypocrisy used by the abortionists to conceal the wholesale slaughter of unborn babies. Photos of these aborted children rip off the mask of "choice." The truth hurts, but the lie hurts so much more. Once people have faced the truth, they are less likely to become involved in abortion. When Christ died for us, it was in a very graphic way, a public crucifixion. His body, twisted, disfigured and covered with blood, hung on a cross for three hours in full public view. He said He had to be lifted up in order to show His love for us and to show us the seriousness of sin. Throughout American history, all successful social reform movements, from the movement to enact child labor laws to the civil rights movement have used images that depict victims of maltreatment and violence. Consider the case of Emmitt Till, a 14-year old black boy who whistled at a white woman in a grocery store in Money, Mississippi in 1955. Till, who was from Chicago, didn't understand that he had violated the unwritten "rules" of the Jim Crow South until three days later, when two white men dragged him from his bed, savagely beat him, shot him in the head, and threw his body into a river. Emmitt's mother, Mamie Till, insisted on an open casket at his funeral so that the world could see "what they did to my boy." His face was battered beyond recognition, and his body had decomposed after being underwater for several days. Although his killers were acquitted by an all-white jury, the image of his mutilated body made an indelible mark in people's minds, and helped mobilize the civil rights movement. Shortly thereafter, the Montgomery bus boycott began. As a loving mother, Mamie Till wanted all to see the brutality that her son endured at the hands of violent racists. So too , out of compassion for the victims of abortion, we want all to see the brutality that they endured under the guise of "choice." If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call 815-494-0333. Thank you and God bless. __________________________________________________________________________ DO YOU HAVE THE COURAGE TO SEE THE TRUTH OF WHAT HAPPENS TO CHILDREN AT 1400 BROADWAY ON TUESDAYS AND FRIDAYS IN ROCKFORD? The book, "Fatal Misconception: The Struggle to Control World Population," was written by Columbia University historian Matthew Connelly and shows why today's reproductive rights advocates are "faithfully reciting a eugenic catechism without the faintest idea where it comes from or where it can lead." In 1952, at a secret, invitation-only gathering in Colonial Williamsburg, John D. Rockefeller III brought together what would become the modern population control establishment. Setting the agenda for the following decades were the heads of the United States Atomic Energy Commission, National Academy of Sciences, and top scientists "from embryology to economics," including past and present Nobel Prize winners. From verbatim transcripts of the "Conference on Population Problems," just one of the countless number of such meetings the book exposes, Connelly found that what drove them were the questions of how many people the world could hold along with "whether 'industrial development should be withheld' from poor, agrarian countries like India." By decreasing mortality and encouraging "breeding," development would increase inferior populations and further degrade "the genetic quality of the human race." They decided radical measures to reduce birth rates were justified in order to save "Western Civilization" from being dragged down by the growing humanitarian demands of Third World countries. Thus was born the Population Council, which would in turn become the nexus of the entire population control movement, going on to coordinate the work of the United Nations, the Ford and Rockefeller foundations, International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) - founded three weeks later - as well as major pharmaceutical firms. The founder of IPPF, Margaret Sanger, selected for its first director general the psychologist C. P. Blacker, who called for a strategy of "crypto-eugenics," saying "you seek to fulfill the aims of eugenics without disclosing what you are really aiming at and without mentioning the word." When Nehru presented India's first population-limitation policy in December 1952, the population establishment found a willing government that would allow them to start experimenting on its people to find a cheap contraceptive "to be used in poverty stricken slums, jungles and among the most ignorant people," as Margaret Sanger put it. Years later, Planned Parenthood would import the experiments back into poor neighborhoods in the United States. Sanger said, "I believe that now, immediately there should be national sterilization for certain dysgenic types of our population who are being encouraged to breed and would die out were the government not feeding t hem." According to Connelly, it wasn't until President Lyndon Johnson, prodded by a few highly influential advisors, that American funding soared, turning Sanger's vision of forcing birth control on the world's poor into reality in India and beyond. As the initiatives gained unstoppable momentum, the brutal consequences shocked even the most enthusiastic population controllers. _______________________________________________________________________ McDonalds Strikes Back at Family Boycott with Charges of "Hate" By Peter J. Smith OAK BROOK, Illinois, July 11, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Fast food giant McDonald's is returning fire against a pro-family boycott, saying family advocates opposed to their affiliation with pro-homosexual organizations are guilty of "hate." The American Family Association has led the boycott of McDonald's restaurants since July 3, after the global hamburger empire refused requests to remain neutral in the culture wars and to withdraw their public support from the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), a homosexual lobby that pushes same-sex "marriage." Instead, McDonald's spokesman Bill Whitman told the Washington Post that the boycott was motivated by "hate" and McDonald's would continue to remain in the NGLCC. "Hatred has no place in our culture," McDonald's USA spokesman Bill Whitman said. "That includes McDonald's, and we stand by and support our people to live and work in a society free of discrimination and harassment." However, the AFA, which has over 2.2 million members, has pointed out that its boycott has nothing to do with McDonald's homosexual employees, but everything to do with McDonald's cash from its 31,000 restaurants worldwide flowing from families into anti-family endeavors.http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2008/jul/08070402.html "This boycott is not about hiring homosexuals, or homosexuals eating at McDonald's, or how homosexual employees are treated," stated the AFA. "It is about McDonald's, as a corporation, choosing to put the full weight of their corporation behind promoting the homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage." McDonald's established closer ties with the NGLCC earlier this year by donating $20,000 to obtain membership as a "Corporate Partner and Organizational Ally" and a seat on the group's board of directors. Richard Ellis, Vice President of Communications for McDonald's USA, now sits on the NGLCC's board and has stated on the NGLCC website, "I'm thrilled to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and ready to go to work." The NGLCC frequently lobbies Congress on same-sex "marriage" and other aspects of the homosexual agenda. The NGLCC website proudly lists McDonald's, along with hamburger rival Burger King, US film giant Kodak, AT&T, among 87 supporting major companies, saying, "Through the commitment of our corporate partners, the NGLCC has been able to advance the ideas and causes of the LGBT business community." Although unrelated to its current membership in the NGLCC, previous statements made by CEO Jim Skinner from a June 2007 annual shareholder's meeting indicate McDonald's will promote issues they approve. "Being a socially responsible organization is a fundamental part of who we are," said Skinner. "We have an obligation to use our size and resources to make a difference in the world...and we do." Angela Simmons, a middle class woman, says she had each of the abortions because she was never involved in a committed relationship. During the interview, Simmons recounts various relationships with men who, she says, never would commit to a relationship with her. "Looking back, there was a definitive reason why I had each termination and a valid reason why I felt at the time I could not even have begun to contemplate continuing with each of the pregnancies," she told the newspaper. "The reason why I had so many abortions is that I didn't want to bring a child into the world unless my situation was perfect -- but it never was," she claimed. Yet two of the abortions came with a partner who said he wanted her to kee p the baby, and the abortions eventually resulted in the demise of the relationship. In an attempt to salvage the relationship, Simmons decided to keep one baby. But, because of the toll the abortions likely took on her body, her son Ben was born eight weeks prematurely and with severe learning difficulties. _______________________________________________________________________ Prominent North American Rabbi Condemns "DisOrder of Canada" Award to Abortionist "A terrible reflection on a country that can honor a person based on his self-professed elimination of 100,000 preborn children" NEW YORK, July 9, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Rabbi Yehuda Levin, a spokesman for the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada, and the Rabbinical Alliance of America with a combined membership of well over a thousand Rabbis, has forcefully condemned the award of the Order of Canada to abortionist Henry Morgentaler. "I think that the award presented to Dr. Death Morgentaler should more aptly be called the 'Disorder of Canada' because it's a terrible reflection on a country that can honor a person based on his elimination - self-professed elimination of 100,000 preborn children," Rabbi Levin told LifeSiteNews.com in an interview today. Speaking in his capacity as spokesman for over a thousand Rabbis in the United States and Canada, Rabbi Levin stated: "I want to forcefully condemn whoever is responsible for misrepresenting millions of Canadian citizens, misrepresenting their love and respect for God's gift of life by giving an award to such a monster." He added: "This is another giant step down the slippery slope towards wholesale murder of babies, old people and undesirables." Speaking of Morgentaler's Jewish roots, Rabbi Levin said, "As a Jew this man is a tremendous embarrassment to us and opposes Genesis 9:6 which indicates that feticide is a capital offence from the earliest times of the world's history." The Jewish leader praised the actions of honored Canadians who were returning their Order of Canada awards in protest of the decision to award Morgentaler. "We all stand with the courageous and noble awardees who have returned their awards because of this outrage," he said. In conclusion, Rabbi Levin stressed that faithful citizens must understand that "until the clergy of the various religious speak out constantly, courageously, and uncompromisingly to the powers that be, criticizing them, even if its politically unpopular or incorrect or uncomfortable," we will not succeed. "Until the religious leaders totally take on the corrupt justices in the various countries, the corrupt courts, the corrupt political leaders and name them and prohibit voting for such people based on religious reasons - until this happens we are going to continue to see the other side taking unfair advantage and further polluting the culture and brainwashing a younger generation as to the basic standards of right and wrong." _______________________________________________________________________ KAMPALA, Uganda, July 11, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - While the US Senate considers a proposal to allocate US$50 million more for AIDS prevention programmes, one Ugandan expert says it will be wasted money if the attitudes of the Western AIDS prevention community towards AIDS transmission do not change. In a column appearing in the Washington Post on June 30, one of Uganda's leading AIDS prevention experts called on the Western "experts" to "Let my people go." "We understand that casual sex is dear to you, but staying alive is dear to us. Listen to African wisdom, and we will show you how to prevent AIDS." Sam L. Ruteikara wrote in the Washington Post that efforts to maintain the world's most successful AIDS prevention programme was "sabotaged" by precisely those Western "experts" who insisted that only condoms would work. Ruteikara is the co-chair of Uganda's National AIDS-Prevention Committee. He wrote in a column in the Washington Post o n June 30, "AIDS epidemics in Africa are driven by people having sex regularly with more than one person." The Western experts, dedicated to the exclusive promotion of condoms, were incensed when Ugandan AIDS rates plummeted with this "ABC" method that left condoms as a "last resort". The success of the Ugandan programme, Ruteikara said, did not sit well with those international experts and advisors, sent to Uganda to oversee the spending of international relief funds, who are devoted to the condom as the first and last answer to the AIDS epidemic. Despite the official line that Western "advisors" were to work within local programmes, these experts, Ruteikara asserted, actively stonewalled the Ugandan committee's recommendations. The Western advisors objected that the programme was an attempt "to limit people's sexual freedom" and they used their control of the international funding to force a change in direction. "Repeatedly, our 25-member prevention commit tee put faithfulness and abstinence into the National Strategic Plan that guides how PEPFAR [President's Emergency Plan for HIV-AIDS Relief] money for our country will be spent. Repeatedly, foreign advisers erased our recommendations. When the document draft was published, fidelity and abstinence were missing." More insidiously, Ruteikara says that a "suspicious" statistic appeared in reports that claimed a significant increase in rates of AIDS among married couples. The claim was that 42 per cent of married couples were infected, a rate twice that of prostitutes. Repeated requests for the origin of this statistic were ignored. Domestic surveys done by Ugandan health officials found that only 6.3 per cent of married couples are infected, lower even than rates among widowed and divorced Ugandans. Since the Ugandans were forced to change their programmes, surveys have shown that the percentage of sexually active men with multiple partners has more than doubled, undoin g earlier declines, and the AIDS rate has begun to climb again. The Ugandan success story is one of the most impressive in the fight against AIDS. Between 1989 and 1995, the number of men having three or more sexual partners in a year dropped from 15 to three per cent and HIV rates plunged from 21 percent in 1991 to 6 percent in 2002. At the same time, Western nations brought more than 2 billion condoms on Africa and the epidemic continued in nations that went along with the condoms-only approach. The motive for opposing the Ugandan initiative, Ruteikara said, was financial as well as ideological. "In the fight against AIDS, profiteering has trumped prevention," he said. "AIDS is no longer simply a disease; it has become a multibillion-dollar industry." Ruteikara's assertions are supported by Dr. James Chin, a former top AIDS epidemiologist at the World Health Organization, who said, "Easily preventable diseases are still killing millions of children ea ch yea r , while billions of dollars are being squandered annually by AIDS programs." Robert England, head of the charity Health Systems Workshop said in the British Medical Journal, "Although HIV causes 3.7 per cent of [worldwide] mortality, it receives 25 per cent of international health care aid." Ruteikara concluded, "Telling men and women to keep sex sacred -- to save sex for marriage and then remain faithful -- is telling them to love one another deeply with their whole hearts. Most HIV infections in Africa are spread by sex outside of marriage: casual sex and infidelity. The solution is faithful love." "We, the poor of Africa, remain silenced in the global dialogue. Our wisdom about our own culture is ignored." _______________________________________________________________________ login to post comments | printer friendly version | 122 reads
