On Friday September 4, an estimated 10 children between the ages of 8 and 18 weeks old in the womb were killed at Rockford’s abortion mill. One young couple pulled into the mill parking lot and remained in their car. They may have been reconsidering the decision to kill their baby when they saw the building that the abortion mill is housed in with its signs littered with foul language and mocking God. Unfortunately one of the employees of the mill noticed the young couple in the car and went over to them and took them in the killing center. If they had been left alone they may have chosen life.
On Wednesday September 9 thankfully the killing center was closed. We have found out that they will be open Friday Sept 11, Wed Sept 16, and Fri Sept 18.
If you are free this Friday please join us at the foot of the Cross in Rockford. We are expecting a busy day because they were closed today.
A Rockford Pro-lifer Meets Jesse Jackson
One bit of interesting news happened at the Rockford city council meeting this week. One of our dedicated pro-lifers attended the meeting and spoke for a few minutes to the city council about how the Rockford abortion mill harms women and kills children.
Before the meeting our pro-lifer went up to the Jesse Jackson who was in attendance and offered the Reverend a pro-life brochure that compares the crime of abortion with the crime of slavery. At first Rev. Jackson took the pamphlet until he saw it was about abortion then he immediately gave it back to the pro-lifer.
The pro-lifer asked Jackson if he was once pro-life and the Reverend said, "yes", but that ended the conversation on the spot.
It seems Jackson is is only interested in racism if it plays into his political ideology but not if it kills children in the womb. Of the well over 50,000 children who have been killed by abortion in Rockford it is estimated that includes tens of thousands of African American children. First US Bishop to Decry the "Scandal" of the Kennedy Funeral
By John-Henry Westen
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX, September 8, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Bishop Rene Henry Gracida, retired Roman Catholic Bishop of Corpus Christi, Texas has denounced the "scandal" of the Kennedy funeral. Writing on his blog, Bishop Gracida said, "There was so much wrong with the funeral liturgy celebrated in Boston last Saturday for Senator Edward Moore Kennedy that I hardly know where to begin."
He added: "Aside from the impropriety of such a grandiose celebration for one of the country’s most notorious dissident Catholics, the ‘celebration’ was filled with liturgical errors and transgressions against the General Instruction of the Roman Missal which governs every celebration of the Church’s liturgy."
Rather than going into specifics about the abuses himself, Bishop Gracida posted commentaries by lay and clerical pro-life leaders who identified the gravity of the scandal. "I am afraid that if I, a bishop, were to go into the details of the scandal it would only add to the scandal and so I will let the laity speak to it," he said.
Bishop Gracida reposted several commentaries from lay leaders in the pro-life movement in various posts. He, however, gave special attention to the commentary by Phil Lawler of Catholic World News. Said Bishop Gracida: "It is not unreasonable to suggest that the ‘buck’ for the scandal of the secular extravaganza which obscured the sacred liturgical nature of the Kennedy funeral should stop at the desk of the Cardinal Archbishop of Boston.
Again, since I do not want to directly criticize another bishop, I leave it to the laity to analyze the true nature of that celebration. I give the final word to a layman for whom I have a great deal of respect: Phillip Lawler."

A PRO-LIFE FRIEND COMES BACK TO ROCKFORD
September 5, 2009
As someone dedicated to standing against abortion, you are well aware of the issue of post abortion syndrome and what abortion does to women. The purpose of this letter is to tell you about the Silent No More Awareness Campaign that is raising awareness about the affects of abortion on women, men and society. I am the Regional Coordinator for the Campaign and I need your help to spread the word about the Campaign and to encourage those who regret their abortion experience to join the Campaign!
The Silent No More Awareness Campaign wants to make the public aware of the devastation abortion brings to women, men, and their families. The emotional and physical pain of abortion should no longer be shrouded in secrecy and silence, but rather exposed and healed. This mobilization of women and others is imperative to make abortion unthinkable, and persuade society that women deserve better than abortion. Specifically, the Campaign seeks to:
1. Inform the public that abortion is harmful emotionally, physically, and spiritually to women and others involved.
2. Reach out to the people who are hurting from an abortion with the help, hope, and healing available.
3. Invite those who regret their abortions to join the Campaign in speaking the truth about abortion’s negative consequences as well as the help and healing they have experienced.
The Campaign is sponsored by NOEL and Priests for Life. You may have heard about the Silent No More Awareness Campaign and know we are trying to share the truth of abortion’s negative impact on women. We are planning a Gathering to raise awareness at 12:30 pm on October 4, 2009 at Moody Peace Plaza in Rockford, IL. Those who choose to participate in a Gathering are invited to share a brief 2-3 minute testimony of their experience, and hold our “I Regret My Abortion” or “I Regret Lost Fatherhood” signs. Some women might not feel ready to share their testimony but want to participate; they can do so by holding our "I Regret My Abortion" sign. The media is invited to all the Gatherings.
Please help us publicize these events, in addition to inviting those who have experienced abortion and healing to participate. We would also like to have people come and listen to our testimonies. Please consider including an article in your publications or posting one on your website.
The Campaign organizers and I invite you to get involved in raising awareness in our community. Please visit the website: www.SilentNoMoreAwareness.org to learn more and to participate. Please contact them or myself if you have any questions.

I believe in this Campaign. It is making a difference for many women and men, helping them find healing programs such as yours. Therefore, I hope you will send the attached letter to people you know who are ready to be silent no more about the devastating effects of abortion and help raise awareness about the truth. I encourage you also, if you have had an abortion, to attend a Gathering and share your testimony.
Following the events, we expect more women to contact us seeking help so you may want to schedule your abortion recovery programs accordingly. Thank you for helping to get the word out – we can be silent no more!

Leader of United Nations Population Fund Calls for Global Abortion Funding
Wants $23 billion a year to guarantee access to the deadly procedure worldwide
By Matthew Cullinan Hoffman
BERLIN, September 4, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The executive director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) recently gave a speech at an international conference calling for a $23 billion dollar budget to fund abortions worldwide.
"It would cost the world 23 billion dollars per year to terminate undesired pregnancies and deaths during delivery," said Thoraya Ahmed Obaid, leader of the organization, before over 400 "reproductive rights" advocates at the Berlin meeting, which was co-sponsored by the German government.
She also called for a redoubling of efforts related to contraceptives, despite increasing evidence that such programs actually encourage extramarital sexual intercourse and the spread of disease.
Obaid’s remarks were reported by the French radio news service RFI.
Although the UNFPA claims it is not involved in abortion, its leadership speaks out frequently to advocate the practice, and groups such as the Population Research Institute have repeatedly exposed the agency’s support for coercive abortion and sterilization programs in China, Peru, Vietnam, and other countries.
According to the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute (C-FAM), the German government is also promoting the idea of "universal access to sexual and reproductive health information and services by 2015" which includes "options for safe abortions."
Mexican State of Queretaro Overwhelmingly Passes Pro-Life Amendment, 21-0
Over 58,000 letters sent to legislature urging adoption of the measure
By Matthew Cullinan Hoffman, Latin America Correspondent
QUERETARO, MEXICO, September 3, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Mexican state of Queretaro has passed a pro-life amendment to its constitution, protecting the right to life from the moment of conception until natural death.
The passage of the measure followed a letter writing campaign that brought over 58,000 notarized letters to the state’s congress in support of the right to life.
The text of the amendment, which was approved by an absolute majority of 21-0, was quoted in the Mexican media several weeks ago as follows: "In the state of Queretaro the existence of life from the moment of conception is recognized, therefore, respect for it and for all human rights will be guaranteed, its defense will be promoted, and the conditions necessary for its exercise will be provided."
It also stated that, "the State has the obligation to respect life as a fundamental right and to not offend it, nor expose it to any danger, a protection that should be understood from the moment of conception until its natural end, because it is a primordial, universal, absolute, and inalienable right."
However, in cases of rape, the penal code continues to provide no penalty for abortion, according to the Mexican newspaper Mileneo, which also reported that women who go to hospitals after failed abortions would not be prosecuted.
Queretaro is the 15th Mexican state to pass a pro-life amendment in the past year. The amendments have followed Mexico City’s decision to legalize abortion in 2007, creating fear that the same could happen at the state level.
Parties from across the political spectrum voted for the measure, following the example of other states in which left-wing and right wing politicians have come together to support the value of human life.
