Brochure informs the Public about Abortionist Working at a Catholic Hospital

ProLifeCorner- La Crosse, Wis. Oct 10 2016The Catholic Church is crystal clear about its teaching on abortion—the willful murder of a child in the womb. A grassroots pro-life group, La Crosse Life League, is placing this teaching front and center on a newly released brochure.

“Since the first century the Catholic Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion.”  “This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable.  Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or as a means is gravely contrary to the moral law. Human life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception.  Abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes”

This same teaching serves as a guiding principle for the La Crosse Life League members as they seek to alert the public to the fact that abortionists can inform women on abortion at Mayo Clinic Health System-Franciscan Healthcare,  La Crosse, WI.  As the brochure states: No abortions are performed at Mayo/Franciscan which is  a Catholic Hospital, having Sponsorship by the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, a Catholic order headquartered in La Crosse. Are We Responsible for Encouraging Abortions?

Larry-150x1 blueA recent discussion on interconnected social problems and the resulting polarization of our society brought forth the suggestion that many of us, including many of the Christians and Catholics reading this, may be responsible at least in part for abortions. While many pro-life people would deny this, I invite you to follow the logic with me and see what we find.

Our Polarized Society

It was the demographers that first publicized our polarized society and related interconnected social problems. They pointed out that in several major elections they could predict voting based the fertility level of a state or area. Those states with the highest fertility levels traditionally swung to the right and voted for conservative candidates and conservative issues while those states with the lowest fertility levels traditionally swung to the left and voted for liberal candidates and liberal issues. Two things are immediately noteworthy. One is that the basis for this is fertility level, which translates into bringing children into the world. The second thing to note is that this question on children tends to polarize our society into the right and the left. Continue reading
