An Open Letter To the Illinois Republican Party

An Open Letter To the Illinois Republican Party

To the Illinois Republican Party,

Illinois Republican Party Chairman Tim Schneider has publicly declared in a statement concerning Gov. Rauner signing HB40,

“There is no daylight between Governor Rauner and the Illinois Republican Party and we will continue working hard to ensure his reelection.”      https://illinois.gop/ilgop-chairman-tim-schneider-statement-hb40/

The members of the Rockford Pro-Life Initiative and our supporters find this unacceptable..

  1. Gov. Rauner signed HB40 that forces taxpayers to pay for the killing of children by abortion. It has been estimated this could increase the number of children killed by abortion by 3000 to 12,000 babies a year.  And we are told by Illinois Republican Party Chairman Tim Schneider, “There is no daylight between Governor Rauner and the Illinois Republican Party and we will continue working hard to ensure his reelection.”
  2. Gov. Rauner gave his word to Cardinal Cupich that he would not sign HB40.  Rauner lied to the Cardinals face. He lied to all of us and his lie will result in the death of countless thousands of children. And we are told by Illinois Republican Party Chairman Tim Schneider, “There is no daylight between Governor Rauner and the Illinois Republican Party and we will continue working hard to ensure his reelection.”
  3. We are told that Gov. Rauner is a fiscal conservative who will fix the state budget. Gov Rauner is forcing the tax payer to ultimately pump hundreds of millions of tax payer dollars into the abortion industry to viciously and brutally dismember children in the womb. And we are told by Illinois Republican Party Chairman Tim Schneider, “There is no daylight between Governor Rauner and the Illinois Republican Party and we will continue working hard to ensure his reelection.”

Rights, Responsibilities and Population Density

Rights, Responsibilities and Population Density

Are we missing the basics?

   By Larry Plachno

There is an increasing concern among some demographers and researchers that conservatives, Christians and pro-life supporters may be winning a battle but losing the war. Many do not understand the real issues and reasons behind how social problems, actions and decisions are interconnected.

We live in interesting times. People in the past based decisions on traditions and the practices of previous generations. Today, we are lucky to have the advantage of decades of research into social problems as well as computer-generated statistics. In many cases this data is not only endorsing many of the old traditions but also giving us the reasons behind those decisions. If you give me a few minutes of your time I can walk you through the basics.

Our Polarized Society

While overly simplistic, it is not difficult to split our society into two groups based on a simple question. When faced with an action or decision that could impact others we have two alternatives. We can do what is best for other people and society or we can do what we want regardless of whom we hurt. One side is conservative while the other side is liberal. One side believes in responsibilities while the other side believes in rights. And, ultimately, and to a large extent, one side tends to match with red states and the other side tends to match with blue states. Continue reading

Walking With Those Who Need Us

Walking With Those Who Need Us

“And it happened that while they were conversing and debating, Jesus Himself drew near and walked with them …”

Tim was nine when the last of many foster-care placements began to break down and he was placed in a home where children received special care and help. Tim was a sad and angry young boy who, having been put into care by his mother when he was six, hated the world. He was often sullen and aggressive, though occasionally he revealed a wicked sense of humor and some sparkle.

During his time at the home, his care-givers would arrange for Tim to meet with his mother. Each time it would be the same. Tim would be excited, full of hope and plans, confident that this time things would be different and his mother would want him back. It was a very normal reaction for any child. Each time, however, the pain would be greater. Tim’s mother would express her pleasure at seeing him, give him sweets and they would go off for the day. Then it would end and Tim would return, agitated, withdrawn and angry, refusing to talk. His hopes and dreams were once more dashed. It took a great deal of being alongside him, listening to him and helping him to make sense of what had happened to him, before he could move on and begin to live with a different kind of hope. America Was a Great Nation

America Was a Great Nation

ProLifeCorner – 2-2-2017 – by Chris Munda – The following article by our friend from Canada, Mark Pickup, is one of the best we have read, and that’s really saying something.  He gives us a brief history of why America was a great nation and why America now is headed in a downward spiral.  There is a glimmer of hope, however, if we clean up our act and start to love and help others again.  But most of all, we need to stop the holocaust of the unborn.  We cannot continue to slaughter our children and expect our nation to become great again. Abortion and the Second American Revolution

Abortion and the Second American Revolution

 ProLifeCorner-  By Larry Plachno

If you have not already figured it out, we are currently going through a very important Larry-150x1 bluetime in American history. Some have called it a Second American Revolution. The actual truth is that what is happening in the United States right now will affect both our country and much of the world for many years to come. Give me a few minutes of your time and I will try to give you some of the basics of what has happened, what is happening, and just how far-reaching it is.

Both in the United States and elsewhere in the world, the rich and the politicians have been trying to take over. Some have called it the “New World Order.” The rich have become richer and the poor have become poorer. They have been doing this by eliminating the middle class, eliminating jobs, eliminating marriage, eliminating babies and children, and eliminating respect for God and Jesus Christ. Continue reading

Do Pro-Lifers Only Care About Pre-Born Children?

Do Pro-Lifers Only Care About Pre-Born Children?

ProLifeCorner – 10-15-2016 – by Rockford Pro-Life Initiative – Abortion supporters, in a effort to cover-up their willingness to destroy human life, often accuse pro-lifer of only caring about children in the womb.

Below are a few facts that shed light on the reality that pro-lifers don’t care about all children.

  1. The entire philosophy and theology of the pro-life movement is love, care, and respect for every person no matter how old or young, rich or poor, color, race, or religion. We try to see Jesus in every person that is why we are so passionate about the pro-life cause because if society can legally kill millions of children all human lives are devalued. “We must not be surprised when we hear of murders, of killings, of wars, of hatred. If a mother can kill her own child, what is left but for us to kill each other.” Saint Teresa of Calcutta
  2. Pro-lifers have established over 2500 pregnancy care centers in America alone. These centers receive no government funding and are staffed by volunteers. These pregnancy care centers help hundreds of thousands of mothers and children. The pro-abortion movement uses every legal means they can to shut-down these Christian centers of love and hope. They use the lie that pro-lifers only care about children before they are born. A large number of women who use Pregnancy care centers do so AFTER the birth of their child.  “That special power of loving that belongs to a woman is seen most clearly when she becomes a mother. Motherhood is the gift of God to women. How grateful we must be to God for this wonderful gift that brings such joy to the whole world, women and men alike!” Saint Teresa of Calcutta

Clinton Campaign Office Sees The Face Of Abortion

Clinton Campaign Office Sees The Face Of Abortion

ProLifeCorner – Rockford Pro-Life Initiative – Rockford, Il –  On Friday Oct. 7th, Christians held a prayer vigil and public witness outside Hilary Clinton’s campaign office in Rockford, IL.  As pro-lifers were quietly praying a man came out of the entrance of the Clinton office and began a litany of vulgar and threatening language directed at the protesting citizens.

Included in his mantra of anger were threats of physical violence against those who oppose Hilary Clinton such as “you had better watch out for a drive-by” and “someone should F….ing shoot you.”  Then, in front of the pro-lifers, he got on his cell phone and asked the person he called, “what  should I do about these people’?   Continue reading

Prosperity, Human Dignity, Reward, and Punishment

Prosperity, Human Dignity, Reward, and Punishment

“Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus received what was bad, but now he is comforted here, and you are in torment.”

Mattie Dixon lived all of her life in a small town. She didn’t have a will; she hadn’t taken care of anything before she died at the age of eighty-nine.

Mattie was a widow. She couldn’t have children; but she had some distant great grand-nieces, nephews, and cousins – maybe. They didn’t attend her funeral; they didn’t really know her. They didn’t know what to do; what would happen to the house, the property, the mementos and the personal effects and all!

Finally, the taxes and other bills had to be paid. So the auctioneer came, and strangers crawled around all the personal effects of Mattie Dixon. There was her wedding ring, one of those heavy ones. When Mattie was alive, if you said to her, “Mattie, I love that ring, I’ll give you a thousand dollars for it,” she would turn that ring on her finger and say, “Fifty-six years of faithful marriage, and you want to buy this? I wouldn’t sell you this for ten million dollars!” Continue reading

Ingenuity, imagination, and Effort in the Spiritual Life

Ingenuity, imagination, and Effort in the Spiritual Life

“For the children of this world are more prudent in dealing with their own generation than are the children of light.”

A few years ago, a college student was convicted of smuggling several thousand pounds of marijuana into the country. The student had created quite an effective system for procuring and distributing the marijuana. The judge who heard the case did not sentence the student to jail — instead, the student was sentenced to set up and run a hospice for AIDS patients. The logic? The city needed the hospice, and the convicted smuggler had the organizational and business savvy to make it happen. Continue reading

Are We Responsible for Encouraging Abortions?

Are We Responsible for Encouraging Abortions?

ProLifeCorner.com-  By Larry Plachno

Larry-150x1 blueA recent discussion on interconnected social problems and the resulting polarization of our society brought forth the suggestion that many of us, including many of the Christians and Catholics reading this, may be responsible at least in part for abortions. While many pro-life people would deny this, I invite you to follow the logic with me and see what we find.

Our Polarized Society

It was the demographers that first publicized our polarized society and related interconnected social problems. They pointed out that in several major elections they could predict voting based the fertility level of a state or area. Those states with the highest fertility levels traditionally swung to the right and voted for conservative candidates and conservative issues while those states with the lowest fertility levels traditionally swung to the left and voted for liberal candidates and liberal issues. Two things are immediately noteworthy. One is that the basis for this is fertility level, which translates into bringing children into the world. The second thing to note is that this question on children tends to polarize our society into the right and the left. Continue reading
