There have been an increasing number of questions from conservatives regarding the liberal position on abortion. Why is it so important to them? Why do the liberals insist that abortion be funded with tax dollars? Why is abortion tied to marriage and church? And, why do liberals insist on killing a baby instead of allowing him or her to be adopted?
The answers to these questions all go back to the polarization of our society. For liberals, abortion is the “flagship” of their “fleet” of various positions supporting their liberal stand that decisions and actions should be determined by personal choice rather than by judging them as good or evil based on what is best for others. If abortion was eliminated, or at least judged from the standpoint of good and evil, it would seriously weaken the liberal position supporting choice over good and evil. If you give me a few minutes of your time, I will explain the background behind our polarized society and why abortion has emerged as a key point in this struggle. Continue reading →
When my daughter was growing up, I told her that everyone makes mistakes and that the best thing she could do for herself was to admit her mistakes and then learn from them. I also told her to learn from other people’s mistakes, as much as she could, so she could save herself the heartache of going through those things herself.
Human beings want to believe they are perfect and they certainly don’t want to tell anyone of the mistakes they have made because they think it makes them appear weak; but in reality, weakness lies in not being truthful with yourself and sharing that wisdom with others, especially the next generation – whether it be your own children, nieces and nephews, siblings, cousins, friends, etc. Continue reading →
Many people may ask whether there is an obvious connection between abortion, politics and the slippery slope. The demographers and researchers will tell you that there is a very obvious connection. Moreover, this connection explains why our society is falling apart.
Our Polarized Society
Those who have been keeping up with research, or even just reading the news, are aware that our society has become increasingly polarized. A poll by a well-known company in late April of 2016 showed that only 26 percent of Americans feel that the United States is heading in the right direction. An earlier poll of likely voters in February of 2016 disclosed that 81 percent of the respondents felt that the Federal Government is corrupt.
Another poll in April of 2016 showed that nearly 30 percent of Americans felt that the political parties were out of step with the voters. This is increasingly obvious as the presidential election campaign unfolds. On the conservative side, the two candidates with the most support were both mavericks who did not follow traditional politics. Even the liberals have a second candidate who is getting support as an unconventional politician. Much of this reflects the fact that our society has become increasingly polarized in recent decades. This subject got started from a discussion concerning the love of God and love of neighbor admonishments of Jesus Christ. Those who have done the research find that basic Christian principles are reflected in the statistics surrounding social problems. In his divine wisdom, Jesus Christ was trying to teach us that judging our actions as good or evil and defining good as what is best for others and society is the way to make our society run well. The reports and statistics have shown that if we follow these basic rules of Jesus Christ, we all come out ahead.
But then the obvious question came up. If people accept “choice” instead of judging their actions as good or evil, and do what they want today instead of what is best for society tomorrow, are there negative consequences?
The answer is “yes.” There are obvious consequences for accepting “choice” today rather than judging our actions over the long haul. A simple example is that if kids were left on their own, many would avoid going to school and would eat candy and cookies instead of balanced meals. The obvious consequences of their choice will be that they will grow up uneducated and malnourished. These same types of consequences follow other “choice” decisions. Continue reading →
Pro Life Corner – Freeport, Il – 11-9-2004 – by Annarae – Pro-Life sign has been vandalized!
Proponents of the “pro-choice” movement have spread their poison for many years under the guise of “everyone has the right to make the choice for abortion, euthanasia, etc.” That implies that a choice is actually available and given as much publicity and credence as the “choices” of abortion. In reality if one opposes the choice movement they are not given a public voice with equality nor is an opposition voice tolerated. Planned Parenthood is one of the largest, if not the largest, abortion provider in the U.S. They have received, over the last 10 years, over 4 (four) billion dollars in taxpayer money from the US government! That’s you and I supporting, against the will of so many of us, an agency that kills babies in the womb without regard to the safety and health of the women and young girls that go through the abortion procedure. Rockford, Il – (ProLifeCorner.com) – 12-20-2013 – by Kevin Rilott – Liberals picture themselves as the champions of minorities, women, and “choice” and have, with no evidence and no proof, accused Christians of conducting a “war on women.” It is interesting to note a few studies that have just been released.
