When you sit down to dinner tonight, offer a prayer of thanks for the honeybee.

Because one of out of every three mouthfuls of food you eat are because of the hard work of the bee. From the blue­berry bogs of Maine to the almond orchards of California, bees are the unsung, unpaid laborers of American agriculture. Honeybees are the glue that holds our agricultural system together, as they pollinate the seeds that ripen into our apples, cucumbers, cranberries, and many other fruits and vegetables in our diet. The feast of Corpus Christi 2015

ProLifeCorner- Freeport Illinois – The Feast of Corpus Christi (Body of Christ) celebrates the belief in the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ and His Real Presence in the Eucharist. After Mass was celebrated by Father Timothy Barr and Deacon Paul Ranney, there was a procession escorted by the Knights of Columbus and some parishioners of St. Joseph and St. Mary’s parishes, and the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ.

This group of worshipers proceeded from St. Joseph’s church, traveled up Galena Street and turned easterly up Pleasant Street until they arrived at State Street and turned to arrive at St. Mary’s parish. There they celebrated a brief Benediction honoring our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Continue reading
