The Kingdom of God Versus the Kingdom of Man

The Kingdom of God Versus the Kingdom of Man

ProLifeCorner- Frank Munda-

If we refuse to be ruled by God and his laws, then God will allow us to be ruled by tyrants.

It is very difficult not to think about the evil in the world today. My wife Chris and I have spent the better part of the last 30 years talking about the evils of abortion. 9/11 bought a new form of terrorism into all of our lives. Often when I write of abortion, promiscuity, apathy, and the selfishness of the world I sometimes feel like the little brother who is pointing a finger at a sibling and crying out what he or she is doing wrong. I’ve even been told that I’m good at pointing out the problem, followed by “how about giving us some solutions.”  In this article, once again, I will not be able to offer any solutions, but thanks to a recent homily by Pastor Timothy Barr we might have a better sense of direction. God Bless Those Who Served

God Bless Those Who Served

ProLifeCorner-Veterans Day 2015- Frank Munda-

DR EB with txtGod bless the men and women who served and are serving our country.  This is my prayer, not only on this Veterans Day but it should be offered every day.  What would our life be like without those who have served?  And it isn’t just those who so gallantly served in our Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard; we should also include those who serve us every day as police officers and firefighters.

When honoring those who served where do you start? World War II, Korea, Vietnam? I believe we have to go all the way back to 1776 and honor those courageous men and women who stood up against the tyranny of the British. Then it is a mind boggling journey through all the wars from that moment right on to today with our many present day struggles throughout the world, and especially in the Mideast. Volumes could be written about the dedication of those who served throughout this pain-filled history. Continue reading

What Is Christianity?

Is Christianity a Religion, a Guide for a Better Society, or a Political Indicator?

ProLifeCorner-   By Larry Plachno

Is Christianity a religion, a guide for a better society, or an indicator of political affiliation or leaning? The somewhat surprising answer is “all of the above.” In recent decades, researchers have found that the basic rules of Jesus Christ are endorsed and supported by reports and statistics surrounding social problems as a way to improve our society. Now, the researchers and demographers are also finding that Christianity can also be a major indicator of our political directions. This creates an unexpected link between church and state while adding a great deal of credibility to Christ’s teachings of nearly 2,000 years ago.

Christianity as a Guide for a Better Society

Christianity is based on the fact that God sent His Son to earth to suffer and die to atone for our sins. This tells us two things. One is that God is very concerned about good and evil. More sobering is the second obvious conclusion which is that some atonement is required for doing evil. Continue reading
