Are You Born Again? Are You Saved?

Are You Born Again? Are You saved?

ProLifeCorner – Frank Munda-  Many of us have heard, or used the terms “are you born again”, or “are you saved”, and “have you accepted Christ as your personal Lord and Savior”? When we hear these terms or even use them ourselves, do we really think about what it means?  If I had a group of Evangelicals, Lutherans, Pentecostals, Presbyterians, Catholics, etc. and ask the above questions, I more than likely would get different interpretations within each one of these groups. Christianity should not be a democracy where we get a consensus of the majority and therefore that is the truth, at least at that moment and within that particular group.

The purpose of this article is not to convert you, the reader, to any particular Christian belief. I do however believe that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ intended for us to be one. The unfortunate reality is we are not “one”, and that is something that you, myself, or anyone else can possibly  change. That peace, that unity, can only come through the power of the Holy Spirit and I long for that day. In the meantime, through our brokenness, through our division, can we at least build upon what we do agree on? That is, we love the teachings of Jesus Christ and we want to build our lives around those teachings. Continue reading

Special Prayer On August 17, for Peace in Iraq

WASHINGTON – Bishop Pates, the chairman of the Committee of International Justice and Peace of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) asked the U.S. bishops to invite the people of their dioceses to pray for peace in Iraq on Sunday, August 17.

Accordingly, he urged Catholics to let their elected representatives know of their concern that humanitarian assistance reach Christian and other religious minorities who are suffering in Iraq, Syria and other countries. Thousands of Christians are being executed, beheaded, kidnapped, and raped by groups promoting Islam. Continue reading
