Practical Prayer

Practical Prayer

Today I’m going to pretend

I have no other work but

To listen to your voice, O LORD

Your voice will come to me

Carried on the wind of peace,

That’s how I’ll know it’s You

Peace, beyond common understanding,

Will flood my being, as I do daily work

The work that I must do to comfort

My body: for food, for shelter, for identity

Among men: what I wear, what I drive,

Where I live – these are facts that interest

The people in the natural world, but where

I truly LIVE, in the Spirit with You, I am

Free, without cares, like a child You are

In charge and caring for me completely.

Amen

Prayer for our Pastor

Prayer for our Pastor

Lord Jesus, Eternal High Priest, we worship You, our Head.

We thank You for our pastor who shares in Your one Priesthood, who acts in Your stead, and who is the instrument of bringing Your Presence to us.

Strengthen him, Lord, in times of trial, be his consolation in times of loneliness and give him the joy of seeing the fruits of his labors.

I will pray for him and assist him as I am able, for You bring many graces and blessings to me through him.

Amen. Continue reading

Fence Sitters

Fence Sitters

ProLifeCorner- (CAN) There was a large group of people. On one side of the group stood Jesus.   On  the other side of the group stood Satan. Separating them, running through the group was a fence.

The scene was set, both Jesus and Satan began calling to the people in the group. One by one, each having made up his or her mind, each went to either Jesus or Satan. This kept going on for a while, and eventually Jesus had gathered around him a group of people from the larger crowds, as did Satan.

But one man joined neither group. He climbed the fence that was there and just sat down on it. Then Jesus and his people left and disappeared. So too, did Satan and his people.  And the man on the fence sat alone.

As this man sat there, Satan came back and appeared to be looking for something that he’d lost. The man said, “Have you lost something?” Satan looked straight at him and replied, “No, there you are. Come with me.” “But,” said the man, “I sat on the fence. I chose neither you nor Him.” “That’s okay,” said Satan. “I own the fence.”

Satan doesn’t care if you read the Bible, as long as you don’t apply it to your life. Continue reading

He Is on His Way

Jesus is the Reason for the Season      He is on His way- let us rejoice and be glad in the Lord.

ProLifeCorner-  We “always feel it an obligation to remind people about the reason for the season of Advent and Christmas. Do not get caught up too much in the presents, sales gimmicks, pressures to have to have the perfect Christmas. Jesus gave us the greatest present we could ever have Received – his very self. Because God became man, we can know that He wants to be with us all the time. How much time do you spend with Him? Could you spend more time with Him this season?” Continue reading
