ProLifeCorner – 10-15-2016 – by Rockford Pro-Life Initiative – Abortion supporters, in a effort to cover-up their willingness to destroy human life, often accuse pro-lifer of only caring about children in the womb.
Below are a few facts that shed light on the reality that pro-lifers don’t care about all children.
The entire philosophy and theology of the pro-life movement is love, care, and respect for every person no matter how old or young, rich or poor, color, race, or religion. We try to see Jesus in every person that is why we are so passionate about the pro-life cause because if society can legally kill millions of children all human lives are devalued. “We must not be surprised when we hear of murders, of killings, of wars, of hatred. If a mother can kill her own child, what is left but for us to kill each other.” Saint Teresa of Calcutta
Pro-lifers have established over 2500 pregnancy care centers in America alone. These centers receive no government funding and are staffed by volunteers. These pregnancy care centers help hundreds of thousands of mothers and children. The pro-abortion movement uses every legal means they can to shut-down these Christian centers of love and hope. They use the lie that pro-lifers only care about children before they are born. A large number of women who use Pregnancy care centers do so AFTER the birth of their child. “That special power of loving that belongs to a woman is seen most clearly when she becomes a mother. Motherhood is the gift of God to women. How grateful we must be to God for this wonderful gift that brings such joy to the whole world, women and men alike!” Saint Teresa of Calcutta
“Anyone who loses his life for my sake… will save it.”
Pierre Claverie (Clav’er aye) was born in Algeria in 1938. He grew up in a loving family of French people who had settled in Algeria. He said he lived in a “colonial bubble,” in other words, completely cut off from the majority Arab population. As a young man he was called to the priesthood and joined the Dominicans in France. Despite the political upheavals, he wanted to return and serve in Algeria. He steeped himself in the Arab culture, learning the language and living close to the people. He wanted to bear witness to Christ’s call to reconciliation between races.
In 1981, Pierre Claverie (Clav’er ee) was made Bishop of Oran. Christians in the region were few in number and surrounded by a dominant Muslim population. As Muslim fundamentalists became more powerful, Christians were threatened and several members of religious orders were assassinated. (Clav’er ee) became increasingly aware of the danger he was in, but in this situation he also deepened his understanding of the cross. He did not leave but stayed to bear witness to the love and mercy of Jesus and his promise of eternal life. In 1996 Bishop Pierre Claverie (Clav’er ee) and his Muslim driver were blown up by a terrorist bomb.Continue reading →
All the victims at the gay nightclub who were murdered over the weekend need our prayers. Fifty people, 50-plus souls were on the scene, and the very next moment, they were standing before the judgment seat of Almighty God — as we all will be one day. Life can seem so certain one moment and over the next, in a twinkling of an eye. We must always be prepared to die.
The murders bring about a very interesting point of a larger discussion. The liberal alliance has brought various factions together, with one common goal: to end Catholic morality’s influence on Western civilization.
There are indeed some strange pairings in this liberal alliance: homosexualists, the Democratic Party, the mainstream media and Islam. Whatever differences Islam and liberals have, they have been willing to overlook them to join forces against the common enemy of Christianity, specifically Catholicism.
So, for example, from ISIS and the Islamic world you hear threats against Rome — loud threats, so loud that Italian army soldiers now stand at the ready fully armed with machine guns in very plain sight around the boundaries of Vatican City. And you hear from various gay groups that the Catholic Church hates gays — that we are homophobic, that we are a threat, that we need to have our non-profit status revoked, that we need to be monitored and so forth. ProLifeCorner – Frank Munda- Many of us have heard, or used the terms “are you born again”, or “are you saved”, and “have you accepted Christ as your personal Lord and Savior”? When we hear these terms or even use them ourselves, do we really think about what it means? If I had a group of Evangelicals, Lutherans, Pentecostals, Presbyterians, Catholics, etc. and ask the above questions, I more than likely would get different interpretations within each one of these groups. Christianity should not be a democracy where we get a consensus of the majority and therefore that is the truth, at least at that moment and within that particular group.
The purpose of this article is not to convert you, the reader, to any particular Christian belief. I do however believe that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ intended for us to be one. The unfortunate reality is we are not “one”, and that is something that you, myself, or anyone else can possibly change. That peace, that unity, can only come through the power of the Holy Spirit and I long for that day. In the meantime, through our brokenness, through our division, can we at least build upon what we do agree on? That is, we love the teachings of Jesus Christ and we want to build our lives around those teachings. Continue reading →
ProLifeCorner- Beaumont, Alberta, Canada –Our friend Mark Pickup has been inspiring us with his writings for many years.Mark and his wife LaRee live in Canada and the problems they are facing regarding religious freedom and the murder of the pre-born child through state sponsored abortion and state sponsored euthanasia is as bad if not worse than here in the United States. He gives an example of the relentless attacks on the rights of Christians to practice their religion, even within the walls of their own schools. It is time for Christians of good will, priests, pastors, and Bishops to stand up and defend Christ and His church and say “enough is enough they have gone too far.” Let us return to the principles that this country was founded uponand take the state sponsored religion of Secular Humanism out of our schools, and once again allow us to call upon the protection and the blessings of our God.Continue reading →
