Rights, Responsibilities and Population Density

Rights, Responsibilities and Population Density

Are we missing the basics?

   By Larry Plachno

There is an increasing concern among some demographers and researchers that conservatives, Christians and pro-life supporters may be winning a battle but losing the war. Many do not understand the real issues and reasons behind how social problems, actions and decisions are interconnected.

We live in interesting times. People in the past based decisions on traditions and the practices of previous generations. Today, we are lucky to have the advantage of decades of research into social problems as well as computer-generated statistics. In many cases this data is not only endorsing many of the old traditions but also giving us the reasons behind those decisions. If you give me a few minutes of your time I can walk you through the basics.

Our Polarized Society

While overly simplistic, it is not difficult to split our society into two groups based on a simple question. When faced with an action or decision that could impact others we have two alternatives. We can do what is best for other people and society or we can do what we want regardless of whom we hurt. One side is conservative while the other side is liberal. One side believes in responsibilities while the other side believes in rights. And, ultimately, and to a large extent, one side tends to match with red states and the other side tends to match with blue states. Continue reading

The Purposeful Killing of Human Life

The Purposeful Killing of Human Life

ProLifeCorner – 2-2-2017 – by Chris Munda – Euthanasia goes by other names, for example, mercy killing, assisted suicide, easy death, etc..  You can call it whatever name you like, but it still means only one thing-the purposeful killing of a human life.

We are living in a time when human life has been cheapened so much that animals are treated with more care and respect than human beings.  It has, for quite some time, been seriously discussed how older, terminally ill, or chronically ill patients should die to save resources for the young and strong.  Is this the kind of world in which we want to live?  Should Grandpa be put down like a dog because he has arthritis and can’t get around as fast as he did in the past?  How about getting rid of Grandma because she’s too weak to stand at the stove for hours cooking everyone’s favorite foods?  Or what about a child or young adult with MS?  Do they deserve to die because they have an illness or handicap?

One only has to hear the inspiring life story of Mark Pickup, a great hero in the pro-life movement.  “Assisted Suicide As A Matter of Course”.Mark is but one of many people who suffer from a debilitating disease, but he has shown the world great courage, strength, and has shared many great writings with all of us.  Those who favor euthanasia would suggest he is really not useful to society.  What rubbish!!  Mark has given hope and inspiration to so many people who are handicapped in some way.  He is a role model to all of us. WE MUST DEFEND LIFE IN ROCKFORD

WE MUST DEFEND LIFE IN ROCKFORD

ProLifeCorner – 1-15- 2017 – by Rockford Pro-Life Initiative – This January is the five year anniversary of the closing of the Rockford abortion mill – and abortion supporters will be marching in Rockford.

On Saturday, January 21st, a so-called ‘Women’s March Rockford’ will take place in our city with one of its major goals being the promotion of abortion.  This march in Rockford is a coordinated event with similar marches taking place in many cities across the country.  They will be pushing a leftist political agenda, promoting abortion, and trying to protect Planned Parenthood from budget cuts. Some of the sponsoring pro-abortion organizations for these marches include: Continue reading

Being “Neutral” Only Helps The Oppressors

Being “Neutral” Only Helps The Oppressors

ProLifeCorner.com – 8-6-2016 – by Rockford Pro-Life Initiative – The first thing that needs to be understood is the passage of SB 1564 means health care professionals and Pregnancy Care Centers starting January 1, 2017 will be legally bound to help any mother who wants to murder her baby find an abortion mill as well as tell her of the benefits of abortion. This is wrong and we know it.

That is why many were confused when the Catholic Bishops came out as “neutral” concerning this deadly law but this statement from the Illinois Catholic Conference and the Catholic Health Association tell the sad story.

“We reached an agreement with the bill’s sponsor that reflects the current medical practices in Catholic hospitals. Catholic health care ethicists and Catholic hospital lawyers participated in the negotiations.”

dante-hottest-place-in-hellCatholic hospitals have already been giving pregnant mothers information on where she can have the beating heart of her child stopped and the child’s tiny body crushed by an abortionist. In a Catholic Hospital, it appears from this statement above, all you have to do is ask where to get an abortion and you will be given contact information. Continue reading

Religious Freedom / Pro-Life Rally Rockford Illinois

Religious Freedom / Pro-Life Rally Rockford Illinois

ProLifeCorner-  Rockford Il.-

On Monday June 13th, Christians from Winnebago County came together to pray outside of the Winnebago County Health Department that fired Pediatric Nurse Sandra Mendoza because of her refusal to refer mothers to abortion clinics.  This is another attack on religious freedom and human life by government officials who believe they are above the moral law.

This rally had four goals:

  1. It was a sign of faith, love, and trust by Christians in Jesus Christ.
  1. A show of support for Sandra Mendoza.
  1. It was an appeal through prayer and public witness to the Winnebago County Health Department to stop the immoral and deadly practice of sending mothers and children to abortion mills.
  1. A prayerful and public stand for religious freedom and against anti-Christian bigotry.

A Woman of Love and Courage

A Woman of Love and Courage

Jesus 250xProLifeCorner-  Rockford Il.–  Sandra Mendoza had faithfully served her employer and the public at the Winnebago County Health Department for 18 years when her boss informed her she must begin referring mothers to abortion clinics.

Sandra had a choice.  She could quietly go along with this mandate.  After all who would know? She could rationalize that it isn’t her fault if a woman chooses an abortion.  Odds are the public would never find out and she has been at the WCHD for 18 years and no one would expect her to throw away her career and family income over this.

But Sandra knows a few things that her bosses at the Winnebago County Department of Public Health either don’t know or don’t care about.

How to Eliminate Abortion at its Cause

How to Eliminate Abortion at its Cause

ProLifeCorner-    By Larry Plachno

In common with many people, I am deeply disturbed and concerned over the taking of Larry-150x1 blueinnocent human lives in abortion. Some of the cruel and painful abortion procedures make this situation inhuman. However, the number of people working against abortion and for life is very positive. But, on the negative side I am concerned that much of this effort is wasted. Many if not most of these pro-life people have not taken the time to look at the primary cause of abortion and work in that area.

When you approach a doctor with an ailment, he or she will do an examination and possibly schedule tests to determine the cause of the problem. This is called a diagnosis and guides the doctor in taking the proper steps to eliminate the problem. Likewise, when you have a problem with your car and take it to the dealer or repair shop, they run tests and diagnostics to find the cause of the problem. Once the cause is known, they can take action to fix the problem. Why do pro-life people not take the time to look for the cause of abortion and then work on that cause to eliminate abortion?

What Could Possibly Make The Angels Cry?

What Could Possibly Make The Angels Cry?

ProLifeCorner – Nashville, Tennessee- Frank J. Munda- It’s been over 30 years that we at the ProLifeCorner have been fighting the culture of death. One thing I’ve learned is that there is no right way or wrong way to approach this horrific and scandalous stain on the fabric of a once great nation. Of course I am referring to the decriminalization of abortion. How do we fight this heinous crime against mankind? If I had 10 pro-life advocates with me now I might have 10 different answers. That explains why we have so many wonderful pro-life groups with slightly different approaches. If each one of us would surrender our hearts and our minds to our Lord He will lead us.

I received a wonderful note from a gentleman by the name of Jeremy Robin. He was inspired to write and produce a video entitled “What could possibly make the angles cry?” This video, in my opinion, is very well done and speaks to the heart. The music, imagery, and editing is of the highest caliber.

It is a privilege for me to share with you Jeremy’s note below and his video. May our Lord richly bless and inspire Jeremy in all of his musical endeavors especially in how it pertains to promoting the culture of life. Continue reading

Are You Born Again? Are You Saved?

Are You Born Again? Are You saved?

ProLifeCorner – Frank Munda-  Many of us have heard, or used the terms “are you born again”, or “are you saved”, and “have you accepted Christ as your personal Lord and Savior”? When we hear these terms or even use them ourselves, do we really think about what it means?  If I had a group of Evangelicals, Lutherans, Pentecostals, Presbyterians, Catholics, etc. and ask the above questions, I more than likely would get different interpretations within each one of these groups. Christianity should not be a democracy where we get a consensus of the majority and therefore that is the truth, at least at that moment and within that particular group.

The purpose of this article is not to convert you, the reader, to any particular Christian belief. I do however believe that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ intended for us to be one. The unfortunate reality is we are not “one”, and that is something that you, myself, or anyone else can possibly  change. That peace, that unity, can only come through the power of the Holy Spirit and I long for that day. In the meantime, through our brokenness, through our division, can we at least build upon what we do agree on? That is, we love the teachings of Jesus Christ and we want to build our lives around those teachings. Continue reading

Assisted Suicide Goes Against Nations Founding Principles

Assisted Suicide Goes Against Nations Founding Principles

ProLifeCorner –  Washington DC – You may recall at the ProLifeCorner we recently did a piece on Mark Pickup from Canada being a guest speaker at a Cathedral in Washington DC. Mark was invited to give a talk on the subject of euthanasia. He was invited by the Archdiocese of Washington’s Adult and Family Rally and Mass for Life, held Jan. 22 at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle.

Mark told us: “Here’s some coverage of my Washington address on the 22 January, 2016”. He also said, ”I was surprised 200 people came as the District of Columbia was on the cusp of the worst snow storm in 94 years”. Continue reading
